To understand what a good reward would be the devs should have asked the PvP community for suggestions and then take them into account.It takes a lot of PvPing to get into the spirit of what would make a good reward and what not.

I have to agree and disagree here, yes PvPers do spend more time on their builds, chains etc on the whole but I know a good few players who put similar effort into PvE builds the big difference for me is that in PvP you really are encouraged to work your build more for me at least thats part of the fun but as a few people here know I do like my numbers and build plans

Sadly thats the perils of certain parts of the MMO market Dont get me wrong trenchcoats, wings, etc are great but I also want to see more sets and solid rewards in certain aspects of the game.

Absolutely sure you aren't and never would to the last part, several others have expressed similar concerns and as someone who trys to PvP in a fun and relaxed spirit of friendship the fact that certain people do cause these issues and make players like Miss decide not to PvP truly angers me.

If you cannot be civil and relaxed, if you cant take losing like an adult, if you think its cool to name call, tuant, goad and otherwise offend people. As a sometime PvPer I say only this ... Please dont come into the zone in the first place dont destroy other peoples fun with a childish and petty attitude its not big and its not clever, and in the end it will drive people who I certainly would warmly welcome and encourage into PvP to just not bother thus destroying a potentially great part of a great game.

Apologies if that was a rant but it is just one of those subjects on which I have strong views.

A good suggestion that has been made several times on a good few of my toons haveing a PvP build and a PvE build would be deeply helpful.

Always willing to give a go at any idea so long as I am free, some lower level PvP could be a nice change of pace every now an then too.

When it comes to leveling a toon for an event I think some of us would be more than happy to assuming the level wasnt silly to get to, 13 is fairly resonable given enough warning, though it occurs that some of us will have many alts already so I dont know if Exemping might need to be considered?

But overall I am all for a more active PvP scene so cool

I got by on teams on the build I gave without taunt before I respeced using BA and Punchvoke and I know tanks who dont use it, the debate is one that comes down to playstyle imo. Taunt is handy and for some even a must for others its a nice extra and for others still a waste, each to there own and varity ftw!

Aye having been an emp on CoH I tried a few thermals on CoV and the rooting was awful and the set in general just didn't cut it for me, I know some have done well on them but I just couldnt get on with therm at all, pity really as its a nice concept.

Ok well heres my 2 inf, all just imo so take or ignore as needed

Take Healing Flames! no really I know its been said allready but really take it you will use it. You dont have strong enough protection to rely on the odd heal from a teamate and any healer on a team is going to be busy enough with the squishys. Also its value solo cannot be overstated imo.

1 end redux in your primary shields and 2 in tough/weave will do the job slots are better used elsewhere. Blazing Aura does need them though.

Slot Blazing aura with a taunt or two over damage imo as aggro grab is your friend.

Pick up Acro much earlier you will need it badly.

RotP can be left till later if you take it at all and doesnt need slotting tbh, you really shouldnt need a self res as a tanker and tbh its not a great tier 9 power.

Focused acc imo needs 3 end redux and 3 tohit buff thats it, but I am no expert.

Firey Embrace is not just for fire it gives 10 seconds of dam increase to all attacks and 20 seconds to fire attacks iirc I would take it over RotP.

Conserve Power is overkill on the end front get 1 end redux in all your attacks and Stamina and Consume will do the job, well it works for me

Some great competatives and some truly fun battles after TKing KS in the big battle = Fun.... being ganked to death in a 3v3 later = less fun but still good

Yup its official you must stand still and under no circustances utilise any powers whatsoever, in fact if you have the passive accolades please ensure you have a method of removing the extra health as its unfiar to ask someone to make an effort in PvP

Seriously just absurd, if people want to stand toe to toe with no insps and batter other players I suggest they save time and resolve their conflict with the rock, paper, scisors emotes provided.

Dunno what it is but there is a lot of this stuff about atm and at times it truly is silly. Dont let it get ya down there are still decent PvPers out there.

Well I will offer some comments on the options you have listed all as ever imo...

Snipe: I am not a snipe fan tbh but if you are staying at range then its got its uses.

Energy Torrent: Not my cup of tea but too bad really multi target damage can be very cool and its not the worst pick out there, I'd look again at it tbh.

Stealth: Seen it used well but imo stealth aint what it used to be and is far more situational than ever before, I would tend to not bother myself.

Leadership: Beacause Leaderships bonuses are based on your AT and blasters dont get much out of it I would avoid it, better to add attacks if you want more damage imo.

Of those you have listed I would say your best served by Torrent or the Snipe and I would take torrent but as stated I am not a snipe fan.

Moving off the list briefly I would point at Bonesmasher and how really rather good it is, but since you are avoiding blapping it may well just not be your personal cup of tea, still it is very cool. Also if you want some added survivability consider the medicine pool and getting to Aid Self slotted well its a life saver and as a benifit your prerequisite is one of two very team friendly powers.

On Toggle dropping, the short answer is that this is not a huge issue anymore, in PvP good oposition will try to drop your defences of course so they can take you down but toggles are not exactly easy to drop nowadays, most likely issue would be getting mezzed (held etc) by say a troller which would turn off your toggles. There are other ways to drop toggles but its not something that is likely to happen all the time in my experience. Best advice, always bring Break Free insps and if you get held, stunned etc pop one and get clear to re toggle.

Just two quick points on the build

You might need more end redux's in Blazing aura as it is a bit of an end hog.

Think your attacks will be ok with 2 Acc slots especially with build ups to hit buffs to help, which should let you get more damage slotted

Have to agree with Max if you want extra staying power as a Blaster take the Medicine Pool and Aid Self: Heal, Heal, Interupt Redux, Interupt Redux, Recharge, Recharge is decent slotting I think.

Ok just some quick thoughts from me as ever use em ignore em or laugh at em ...

Consume: Great in PvE not so needed in PvP in my experience get some end redux in attacks and end heavy powers and you wont really miss it and can therefore take it later if you feel you need it.

Attacks: You are a bit short on this front might be worth fitting an extra one in Breath of Fire perhaps? Serioulsy consider slotting Boxing as you are short on attacks as it is so its not a bad extra.

Taunt: If you are gonna team in PvP slotting for some Acc is a must imo.

Build Up: Try to fit in one or two ToHitBuff to help hit high defence opposition.

Weave: Its nice to have but imo you could well leave it till later. Also could be worth slotting combat jumping for defence if you are an "every little helps" kinda player

Super Jump: One Jump enhance is enough for me as its good "Straight out of the box"

Attack Slotting: Minimum of 2 Acc for me in PvP always.

Fire tanks are pretty capable in PvP, my Fire/Energy has done pretty ok in Sirens Call.

Powers wise as ever you are a tanker so make with the defences Offensively Buildup + Firey Embrace + Greater Fire Sword is your friend good damage there.

Your a Fire Tank so the Leaping Pool and Acrobatics go without saying. I have Fighting Pool for Tough myself and would really advise it. Hasten is great as it can cycle your heal faster and of course your attacks.

You should do ok in PvP to be honest might find damage a touch lacking as you have only 1 high damage attack iirc from the Fire set.

I am sure if you pop your current build up here plenty of advice will be forthcoming.

Ah the more than a little knotty issue of mez protection rears its head once more. Lots of people have plenty to say on the subject, myslef included but I am gonna try to do this without using the dreaded (and overused imo) M word.

Roughly (very roughly) Blaster mez effects are less good than Controller Mez effects. Whilst the effect is the same less resistence is required to avoid a Blasters holds/stuns/etc than a controllers.

Mez protection is available a few ways but rather than a load of wittering about this and that, 2 ATs can be expected to have strong mez protection in PvP Tankers and Scrappers ie: the Meleeists. Others can (and if they PvP regularly almost certainly will) get some resistance but it will not be as effective. If someone is mez protected then you need to apply more than one of the same effect type to "stack" over their protection. It is possible to use mez to do as you suggest but that tactic is likely to only be reliable against the "squishier" ATs.

From the PvP side Sonic should do ok in duels and small events as the -Res secondary effect is pretty handy on a damage dealer. In certain situations sonics rooted animations on some attacks can leave you at risk but plenty of other PvP set ups have similar small issues, so overall should be ok. Give it a go and find out.

Ok couple of specific points and these are from my experience on my Sonic/Ice blaster who is primarily PvE but has meandered into Sirens Call a bit just for kicks.

Sirens Song is amazing in PvE (no really its your bestest buddy ever!) but I have found it almost utterly ineffective in PvP so I wouldnt rely on it tbh.

Screech, I havent got it yet but it should be pretty darn fab in PvE and okish in PvP.

Your secondary Energy Manip is great in PvP by the way top drawer blapping! though some of the /elec fanboys might have a word or two to say on that

Anyway I hope that helps a little

Overall you should have there a really good solo capable blaster for PvE (I would look to maybe fit in the Medecine Pool if you are soloing a lot btw but thats just a side suggestion ) You should be able to function resonably in PvP but I am not an expert.
