Fire/Fire PVP Tanker

Hi peeps

I have a lvl40 Fire/Fire tank and yesterday had my first little go in RV. It was a bit quiet I have to say. I saw one brute, who ignored me and had a Stalker attack.

Anyway, the reason for the post is that I'm about to do a respec and whould like to do a bit more PVP. Are there any powers that I should think about including more so as I've always been geared towards PVE? Do fire tanks suck at PVP?

well a fire tank won the union FFA last night in the arena out of 26 ppl take fiery embrace, fire shield, plasma shield and healing flames, not much else in the primary u need

Fire tanks are pretty capable in PvP, my Fire/Energy has done pretty ok in Sirens Call.

Powers wise as ever you are a tanker so make with the defences Offensively Buildup + Firey Embrace + Greater Fire Sword is your friend good damage there.

Your a Fire Tank so the Leaping Pool and Acrobatics go without saying. I have Fighting Pool for Tough myself and would really advise it. Hasten is great as it can cycle your heal faster and of course your attacks.

You should do ok in PvP to be honest might find damage a touch lacking as you have only 1 high damage attack iirc from the Fire set.

I am sure if you pop your current build up here plenty of advice will be forthcoming.

A couple of things, Consume, is it necessary? I find it useful in PVE, could it be swapped for an extra attack and slot more powers with end red?

Also, how useful is Weave now? I've always taken as I think every little helps.

Ok just some quick thoughts from me as ever use em ignore em or laugh at em ...

Consume: Great in PvE not so needed in PvP in my experience get some end redux in attacks and end heavy powers and you wont really miss it and can therefore take it later if you feel you need it.

Attacks: You are a bit short on this front might be worth fitting an extra one in Breath of Fire perhaps? Serioulsy consider slotting Boxing as you are short on attacks as it is so its not a bad extra.

Taunt: If you are gonna team in PvP slotting for some Acc is a must imo.

Build Up: Try to fit in one or two ToHitBuff to help hit high defence opposition.

Weave: Its nice to have but imo you could well leave it till later. Also could be worth slotting combat jumping for defence if you are an "every little helps" kinda player

Super Jump: One Jump enhance is enough for me as its good "Straight out of the box"

Attack Slotting: Minimum of 2 Acc for me in PvP always.

Anyway hope thats of use.

Hopefully it'll be a good balance. I'll get it done and give him a go tonight. Just a quick question, I've read a bit on problems people have with toggles dropping due to attacks, is this a big problem?

On Toggle dropping, the short answer is that this is not a huge issue anymore, in PvP good oposition will try to drop your defences of course so they can take you down but toggles are not exactly easy to drop nowadays, most likely issue would be getting mezzed (held etc) by say a troller which would turn off your toggles. There are other ways to drop toggles but its not something that is likely to happen all the time in my experience. Best advice, always bring Break Free insps and if you get held, stunned etc pop one and get clear to re toggle.

Just two quick points on the build

You might need more end redux's in Blazing aura as it is a bit of an end hog.

Think your attacks will be ok with 2 Acc slots especially with build ups to hit buffs to help, which should let you get more damage slotted

i would drop weave and get fire sword, weave just doesnt do as much as it used and is a waste of end these days, get fire sword instead for that extra damage
