Here's what I've gathered from the comments about the Kahn TF (and to a lesser extent, the Barracuda SF):
1) They suck because the story/writing isn't up to snuff. The "Why am I doing this?" part of the program. This is more subjective, and therefore harder to fix, than mechanical problems, and I doubt they'd be able to satisfy everyone with any change they make, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't try at some point.
2) They suck because the AV fight is tedious. Here's the problem, though: Some folks don't like the grind of having to whittle down an AV with no challenge but how long it takes, and want some sort of alternate method of achieving victory (what the layman call a "gimmick"). Then there's the other group of people saying the gimmick (temp powers based on ATs on the team, or the perceived need to bring a certain team build or risk not being able to complete it) needs to go and "how dare they attempt to make me resort to tricks to finish a fight everything should be easy enough for the greenest Pug team to beat." Do you see how the Devs might be a bit confused as to how to proceed? Do you not see how there will always be a group of players that think Encounter A will suck no matter how it's presented?
Is there something wrong with designing a Task Force (by definition a team-based activity) that requires an actual Team and some coordination to accomplish? What makes beating on Reichsman for 10 min straight different than beating on Lord Recluse for 5 min, or beating on Marauder for 3 min? If the length of time it takes to defeat something determines whether something is fun or not, using that metric is going to make for some boring content. At best it will be trivial and at worst it's a time sink.
Give me more gimmicks in this game. At least it's a sign that the Devs are trying (and sometimes failing) to do something different. -
Have those of you clicking a button for 20 minutes without success done something like close the window entirely and reopen it? Sometimes you just have to resync yourself to the server. I find it hard to believe it happens as often to one person as y'all say when so many of us experience it very little or not at all. Something tells me it's not just the interface.
Not saying I don't believe you're having an issue. Just trying to narrow the problem down a bit more than just "Fix the Interface." -
That would be the same for any series where you only watched the beginning and the end. You missed the greatness of the meaty seasons 2-6 in your Lost sandwich.

Very cool. Props to all the winners.
Will this be a more regular thing, being able to contribute artwork that might possibly be able to be added to the game in this fashion? Perhaps as a way for SGs to personalize their bases more, for example?
Maybe we could come up with more fake billboards that can be displayed around Paragon City/Rogue Isles, like a competitor to Up and Away Burger, or something. -

Good to see you again, Ping, and glad things are going well. The Shadow Shard race was fun. I don't think I'll ever see that much inf at once again
Now we just need a lemming Hami Raid and the circle will be complete. -
"Freedom isn't free."
Thank you to those who gave their all so others can live. -
Caught the replay of the Aloha To Lost Jimmy Kimmel show yesterday. It was pretty good for what it was. I found it interesting that so many of them hadn't seen the finale until that night, and Naveen Andrews admitted that he didn't really watch the series at all, outside of the pilot. So here's a question to ponder:
If you put your heart and soul into a project, whether it be making a TV show/movie, or creating a video game, etc, wouldn't you take the time to watch/play it when it's done? I suppose for some actors they wouldn't enjoy watching the finished episodes because they'd spend all their time wishing they'd have done things different or wondering why their epic performance got edited to hell, but I think if I were really invested in a project, I'd want to partake of the finished product, probably with others to get their reactions. -
Quote:You did see their lives after the Island. That was the whole point of the flash-forwards. Their lives sucked and they all had a reason to go back to the Island, or never wanted to leave in the first place, like Locke or Sawyer.
I wanted to see their LIVES after the island, and all the drama that unfolded at that time.
Being on the Island was the point of the entire series, which you seemed to have missed. As Christian said at the very end to Jack, the most important thing that happened to everyone happened on that Island. -
Quote:Once again you fail. Just admit you didn't like the show and get on with it. You missed the entire point of the whole series if you thought the last few shows sucked.I thought the last episode(s) sucked. The last 3 or so were just sub-par to the rest of the series.
The last episode seemed like scraps just thrown together while someone had to go poo... and needed to hurry it up.
I understood everything, but was greatly disappointed.
The best moments of the final episode were when the lovers found each other.
The whole death thing just pissed me off. What a stupid way to end it. Just stupid. -
Quote:QFTI fail to see what everyone is whining about. If you are reading this and you already preordered, then you are enjoying dual pistols and demon summoning now. This is a much better reward than a lame mouse pad and 5 enhancements for new characters only that will be no good by level 20.
The over-reaction and hyperbole is getting to be a bit much these days. It's almost like the Negative Nellys think that the Devs are out to target them personally and find the thing that will honk them off the most, and then the Devs watch the anguish unfold while rolling naked in a big pile of money and laughing maniacally.
Newsflash, folks: It's ok if you don't purchase every little booster/upgrade this game has to offer. If you don't like it, it doesn't mean it's evil and no one should have it. THE PLAYER is the biggest advantage in this game, not some silly enhancement or a special costume piece or a temp power. Life will go on without you having to purchase the latest and greatest widgit. -
Once every twenty minutes is "all the time?" You guys do know you can just let the timer hit zero if you've already been buffed and the window will magically go away by itself, right?
And last time I checked, there's hardly any noise once you've been buffed by a fortune, unless you zone and hear the casting sound fx again. That can't be nearly as annoying as some of the other buffs.
More welcome bug fixes. Thanks, Devs, for the hard work.
Oh...noticed that only the Blackwand was mentioned. Did the Nemesis Staff get fixed as well? It was doing the same thing. -
Will do what I can to help you spend your inf, Ping, and some of mine as well. A couple of my Pingu villians have some to donate.

Old Man Slacker would make for a nice character name.
Grats on the new edition to the Slacker Family. -
Quote:Elizabeth Mitchell was 'Jules', the wife of Dennis Quaid and mother of Jim Caviezel in the movie Frequency. She looked good as a brunette as well.Daniel Dae Kim had a minor recurring role on 24 as 'Agent Baker', tac team leader.
Henry Ian Cusick appeared on 24 during season 5 (Theo Stoller, German intelligence agent) with Stana Katic (Collette Stenger, information broker).
I wanna see Jorge Garcia on Smallville next season as Bouncing Boy. -
Oh...hasn't been mentioned, but needs to be:
Juliet in that black dress.... O.O yowza!
Carry on. -
For those who also got cheated out of watching the Kimmel post-finale wrap show, I sent an email to the Programming office at the Memphis ABC affiliate about it, and here's the response I got (less than 12 hrs later...very impressive)
Quote:So not only do we get to see it on TV, we also get to see a replay of the Finale. Yay.
I do apologize for your disappointment. We had some licensing issues with contracted shows and that is why it did not air. The good news is that the Aloha to Lost special will be re broadcast this Saturday at 9:00pm following an encore of the finale.
Again, I do apologize for your disappointment and feel free to contact me with any questions in the future.
Sincerely,
Buddy Rein
Program Director -
All I've seen are the previews they've been showing on TV. Looks like it might be good.

Anyone else not getting to watch the Jimmy Kimmel show right now? They've got two episodes of Two and a Half Men on right now where I'm at (central time)
-
One thing I'm picking up from the pre-finale wrap show from both the actors and the producers is how the show came together by looking for good actors and writing roles for them, rather than being stuck on a character and trying to shoehorn an actor into it. I'd be willing to wager that every character on Lost was either different than envisioned or not even on their radars when the creative team came up with the idea.
Who else could have played people like Locke, or Ben, or Desmond, or even Hurley?
I also hope more shows in the future follow Lost's lead of not having to answer every question posed within a given season, or within a few episodes. It's ok to answer questions with more questions, and to throw the audience for loops every so often. -
I also noticed for the first time the other day that contacts and other NPCs you interact with occasionally cough and clear their throats. Now that those sounds are in the game, you notice things like that a lot more than you used to when all they did was gesture.

OP:
You might have some compatriots in this thread, but know that your opinion, which you're more than welcome to have and to express, is squarely in the minority.
This is not as big a deal as you're making it out to be. Period. -

This isn't my Batman cup..
But seriously, CoH will be at DragonCon?
Not officially. They're at PAX the same weekend, but I'm sure they mean that people can still form their own Meet and Greet for whoever shows up, like they usually do.
