Quote:I love that people don't read - it lets me up my post count!
From the first post:
See this thread to make an Official Weapon Request!
i.e. DON'T MAKE YOUR CUSTOM WEAPON REQUEST HERE

Quote:Is this really a bad thing? Or a problem? I mean I understand the warning comes because it must have happened before. Still is it really that big of a problem that they get strange n crazy ideas from movies? We're seeing it as a Studio tomorrow morning, so if the devs come back with some craaaaazy ideas, you'll know why.
Question inspired by Jeff Foxworthy. -
I like 1 but I'm not a big fan of the loading screen that is coming with i23
-
Thanks for the info.
I didnt use the other one as at the time I posted this one didnt see that thread. -
Anyone know how long Aura of Mot last? Or what the long term effects are if its perminate?
I got it at the end of the Dark Astoria story with one the questionable actions for a Rouge. -
Any hints as when this will be available on Beta or Live for testing?
I have a few ideas I would like to try out before I settle on a toon. Also will VIP get this one like we get few other new power sets? -
I love the wraps gloves and boots wirh spikes

Quote:I knew it there gonna be another patch... Good thing I have the auto updater set to download and install even if I'm still at work reguardless of what my compter thinks its gonna be doing. We'll have Beta forums open when the server opens, along with patch notes.
For the duration. -
I feel the i21B flu coming on at about the time this go active today
-
Wow that a while other extreme from what the look like now
-
I do agree that assuming that people will automatically start off as a villian is faulty logic as well, but it is a seeming good example. And while trying to form teams has always been quiet difficult on red side, there are always at least 5 people on any given isle on Liberty server when I'm running around the Isles getting my missions and badges, and always one asking me to power level them.
-
Ok thank you, thats a bummer though, would make some things easier if it didnt, and since I spend most of my time shapshifted while on my pb or ws having secondary mutation doesnt do me any good
-
Is the secondary mutation from the super booster: mutant suppose to work for in the form for the peacebringers and warshades?

So uh....about that coming storm.....is that still coming....ever?
[/ QUOTE ]
I remember reading in a post or another interview that the coming storm story wasnt going to be address until i15 or i16 when they do more story stuff, because they were going to do more with the rikti invation story too. -

Finally, looking beyond Issue 13, we're interested to know what concrete plans you have in place for the following Issue.
Issue 14 is all about the Mission Architect. Issue 15 will be centered around the Fifth... Anniversary of City of Heroes. [Note: The MMO's 5th anniversary will be April 28, 2009.]
[/ QUOTE ]
I hope, I really, really hope, that this also marks the return of the Fifth Column!!!

It looks to me like they are going to hold to the promise that i14 will be released in the 1st quarter of the new year. So i'm thinking end of january begining to mid febuary. Then as pointed out i15 obviously going to be release in April. -
This sucks I want to go but can't for 2 main reason. . . 1 I have to work and 2 I dont have the money to travel half way accross the country.

Betas are more about BUGS than PLAYING. ^_^
[/ QUOTE ]
True Story. Unfortunately only a small percentage of the people who are in any Beta realize that.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is true and why I say that efficiency is more important than community in closed testing. -
[ QUOTE ]
No. Closed beta has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with community, except that community is where they can get willing and hopefully educated and/or capable testers for free.
[/ QUOTE ]
Grinnz
You are ABSOLUTELY right. Closed testing has nothing to do with a community.
[ QUOTE ]
No sir. You are wrong. Community is the name of the game here. That's what this short of thing should be about - getting people involved. However, it is not so.
[/ QUOTE ]
Down_Incognito
You are only partly right. Yes CoX are community games however; efficiency is more important than community in closed beta testing environments. -
[ QUOTE ]
After every closed beta so far, there has been a completely insufferable smugness from the participants. They constantly drop the 'back in closed beta...' line in pretty much anything dealing with the Issue, as if they are the end-all, be-all of the concern/question. It comes down to 'us', the non-chosen, and 'them' the chosen.
[/ QUOTE ]
Now youre just being stereotypical. I was on the closed beta for I10, while I couldnt share any of my experiences I was not smug about it. Also on that note they do not always choose the same people for the beta testing. Hence an earlier post that I am not in this beta test. -

History indicates otherwise. Since they've begun using a closed re-beta, the test time for each issue has been MUCH shorter, and the issues have had FAR fewer bugs remaining once they do actually go live.
Be glad I'm not the one callig the shots: you'd be seeing your name pinned to the bottom of the list, for putting "the players and the community" above "the product being tested".
Then again, I'm just a to-the-point [censored] like that, I guess.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why do keep on insisting on this?
You have no concrete evidence that it is the testers themselves, rather than the process that is resulting in the smoother releases.
One thing does not prove the other.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pax_Arcana is right. Since they have started closed beta testing there have been far far fewer bugs in the game at each issue release. As a college student of game software development you can not convince me that it is a coincidence. -
I dont think I will be able to make it. But I sure would like to.

Waaaaaah! I hope the people whinng in this thread are 14 or younger, because if they are adults it is sad indeed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow, another ad hominem attack.
Guess you beta testers sure earned your spots huh?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not a beta test but does it really matter who is on the closed beta testing as long as it works and we get to play with it a little on the test server before it goes to the live server?
