As I recall Picard did, in fact, die but then Q brought him back so he could continue making fun of him.

Sisko was so wimpy, Kirk's old enemies came out of hiding once Benji was all they had to worry about. Just look at Kang, Koloth, and Kor.
  3. Unlike Sisko, when Kirk kicks someone's *** they know better than to come back for a second helping.

And yet I didn't hear the music, see a single jump kick, or anyone punch/throw/jump in slow motion with a nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh sound effect. Fail.
  5. The man went from being Hawk to being Sisko...damn straight Q came back and retconned things.
  6. The Silurians aren't going to be happy that we've mucked up their swimming pool.

Well, the movie is titled "Captain America: The First Avenger" and in some foreign markets they'll be dropping the Captain America part from the title.

I'd say that's a fair assessment. There's a difference between wearing medieval padded armor and a modern kevlar vest. Technically they're both cloth armor but one will stop a bullet and the other won't. Cap's armor, whether it's chain or scale, has been manufactured with the same sort of comic book technology that let's you inject the proverbial 90 lb. weakling with a drug and expose him to some weird rays and in a matter of minutes turn him into the pinnacle of human physical perfection. Seriously, if the audience can buy the super soldier serum, an indestructible shield, the Red Skull, a cosmic cube, and Hydra's advanced technology then I think it won't be that difficult to convince them that modern materials and manufacturing processes could be used to create some form of armor that is superior to it's medieval counterpart.

  10. Well, being tethered does limit your altitude and force you to remain over water which means you're probably not going to be horribly injured when you invariably screw up and wipe out which means the company is less likely to be sued out of existence in very short order.
  11. Obviously the lead female character is Lacy Warfield.
  12. I still think Seann William Scott is the best choice to play Guy Gardner.

What redistribution? He confiscated tax money and returned it to the people who had paid the taxes in the first place.

Robin Hood was an English aristocrat fed up with being taxed to death by an out of control government.
  15. So Venom's big weakness is loud noises and now he's going to be walking around blazing away with full automatic assault rifles? Yeah, that makes sense.
  16. Hey, with Johnny gone perhaps the Frightful Four will finally recruit Captain Ultra.

    New Smallville

I tuned in a few minutes early for Supernatural and didn't realize I was watching the tail end of VD rather than Smallville until the emo bad boy vamped out and bit the chick which, I think, is a sad commentary on Smallville. Both IMdb.com and Comcast had tonight listed as new episodes of Smallville and Supernatural, not VD and Nikita.
  18. As a fan of all things Bruce Campbell, I have no problem with lots of cheese. Cheese is not the problem with The Cape's writing. The problem is with the more technical side of things; structure, pacing, etc.
  19. Yes, the writing leaves something to be desired. For example we got the scene where Fleming opens his chess box and then plays around with his holographic display, turning it into a chess board before spinning it and having it resolve into a single file titled "The Siren." It didn't seem to really have anything to do with the episode and we never find out who or what the Siren is leaving me with the feeling that the only reason the scene is there is because someone thought it looked cool.

And the revelation that Orwell is Fleming's daughter is something that should have been handled with subtlety, gradually playing out over the course of multiple episodes until the big reveal when people would have smacked their heads for not seeing the clues and figuring it out sooner. Instead we get beat over the head with a 2x4 with the fact that they're related and it just makes the characters look stupid for not being able to see what is so obvious to the audience.

Yeah, Duffy decided to leave the show so they killed him off but then his career wasn't going anywhere so he wanted to come back and thus they did the shower scene making the entire previous season just a dream.
  21. He's executive producer on a number of shows I like including Chuck and Supernatural but when it comes to directing...I look at his IMdb.com entry and all I see that he's directed that I've seen are the Chuck pilot and the two Charlie's Angels movies. Now I liked Charlie's Angels but they're not what I think of when I think Wonder Woman despite the girl power theme.
  22. And then Thing wakes up and Johnny steps out of his shower...
  23. Chess can't even recognize his own daughter when she's wearing a domino mask while talking to him. I doubt he recognizes someone he only met a couple of times and has good reason to believe is dead.

Overall I'm liking the show though it does stumble now and again. I keep thinking that Eric Close and Dennis Haysbert need to make cameo appearances though.
  24. I am an Irwin Allen fan. I can't imagine what my childhood would have been like without The Time Tunnel, Lost In Space, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and Land of the Giants. As much as I loved his work when I was young I have to admit, the man produced a lot of schlock and I think it's entirely appropriate that he be up for a Razzie. I do object to his being compared to Uwe Boll though. Boll is just bad. He comes nowhere close to Irwin Allen's magnificence.
  25. I think Waiting For Superman should be up for Documentary.
