Will McG Direct David E. Kelleys Wonder Woman Pilot?
I only really know McG from his involvement in the Charlie's Angel movies and Terminator Salvation. Sadly I thought all of those movies were mediocre at best. I'm not exactly sure how much he's responsible for that, but I have to figure some of it was his doing.
I can at least understand why Hollywood executives would automatically assume the guy behind the Charlie's Angel movies would be the "perfect" choice to work on a Wonder Woman TV show. Those movies portrayed the angels as being over-the-top superpowered "Wonder Women" whether it was believable or not. I suppose there could be a worse choice than McG, but I'm obviously not completely convinced he would be the best choice either. As I said in other recent threads I'll still give this show a chance regardless if they intend to make some kind of Charlie's Angel clone out of this show or not. *shrugs*

I believe he's involved in the Chuck TV show as well
He's executive producer on a number of shows I like including Chuck and Supernatural but when it comes to directing...I look at his IMdb.com entry and all I see that he's directed that I've seen are the Chuck pilot and the two Charlie's Angels movies. Now I liked Charlie's Angels but they're not what I think of when I think Wonder Woman despite the girl power theme.

I think McG is an excellent director. For a popcorn blockbuster, I think Charlie's Angels has excellent direction. Some scenes go on for minutes, something almost unheard of in modern big budget films. Plus, as prime mover of Chuck, Supernatural and Human Target, he's garnered plenty of goodwill in my book.

I like McG, but I'm not sure I like their idea of re inventing wonder woman. Business Woman\Vigilante juggling the elements of her life? Doesn't sound like Wonder Woman to me. History has shown when you do something like this and take the source material and change it too drastically or ignore it's origins, it doesn't do well.
Anyway I'll watch the show, I'd be interested in it and maybe as the develop it things will come together more. Time will tell I suppose but I'm glad DC\WB is at least trying to make something of the property, outside the comic books of course.
