Quote:I'm sure it slipped your mind, but doing so in Windows Safe Mode is a good start for cleaning things out with the least amount of trouble. You may be having "environmental" issues in that install (as in something in Windows is broke).
Especially if those AMD/ATI drivers were "sticking" in the system registry.
If you have already bought an nVidia card, take the above advice and grab yourself a driver cleaner program and purge any ATI graphics stuff from your system. -
Unless you're having an issue based on your computer settings (resolution, etc), then right click the game in the launcher and choose properties. There's a spot to check (on/off) Safe Mode.

Quote:In a way the devs have given us a little bit of extra personal storage in the way of purchasible Salvage, Enhancement, etc storage slots. Gotta love F2P solutions. :-X*DING, DING, DING* = We have a winner!
I betcha they'd sell us more... Oh wait, they already (kinda) did = IF you have (or buy up in the "Tiers" to get) the "/vault command" you can buy more Salvage Vault space. Which isn't all that expensive/bad, _IF_ you have lots of Alts & play on lots of servers the cost/space rate get cheaper & cheaper - so the cost feels less like getting bent over, and more like a "deal". -
Quote:They could always keep said limit if they would simply create that global storage many of us discussed over the years./YosemiteSam
I really hate the "single item per email" limit though.
There is absolutely no reason to have a limit from your account to your own account, or same account to same account. There may even no longer be a reason for the limit at all.
1) You're not selling anything to yourself.
2) The gold spammers just send a few really high priced items and probably physically trade, which has no limits, instead of email anyway.
I really hate that stupid limit on both how many items per email and the max per day limit.
They are now pointless and just aggravate us. -
Someone else mentioned making sure that the "Link to existing NCSoft Account" was checked as well in relation to the settings files.

I recall hearing these rumors, but it was more along the lines of wishful speculation.

True, but hard coding it saves some effort on the part of the system as well as limits fragmentation related issues right?

Quote:Edit: Oh you said Markers, not the ingame map. Yeah, there's always been a number of fairly consistent marker issues like this. Anytime you see this go ahead and /bug it ingame making sure to note the Contact/Zone/Mish so that there's a Chance that they can find the bad semi-colon.The hero side zone markers, particularly in hazard zones, are mislabeled, only on the map, with the equivalent level villain zone name, rather than the hero zone name they should have.
The nav bar is correct when you click the market though.
I suspect this is related to the known issue that makes sister Solaris', and others, waypoint on screen point back to her while the map has the correct marker location somewhere else. -
This was my first and really only thought on this matter. Odds are that somebody's moved from night shift to day shift and now "acquires" their entertainment at nite time.

Um, just a brief glance and I noticed your Swap File.
You have 6Gb (6144Mb) of physical ram and yet your swap file is set to a little over half that (3387Mb). Windows probably even suggests it, but you should change the Min/Max swap file setting to something closer to 9Gb (9216Mb) or you risk running into memory related errors. -
The whole transition from (Zone Name) to DA is kinda unfulfilling and lack luster. there's no sort of smooth transition and if a heart racing pace is their intent, then they still failed. I liken the transitions to that of my incar CD player. It has no crossfade so when listening to something like Pink Floyd's The Wall you get this noticible (1-3 second) stutter between tracks that breaks the mood just enough to be annoying.

Quote:This is the easiest method I've found so far (thanks to replies like this in previous threads).i dont think you can stack the cubicles, but you should be able to free float them with the shift key
shift = allows floating the item vertically
ctrl= works with the shift key by not snapping item to nearest wall
alt=rotate around vertical axis
holding shift + ctrl should allow you to float the beacon wherever you want it -

Quote:I didnt' know this one. I thought that had something to do with password changes or whatever. One thing that people forget about is that you MUST have the Remember Account Name box on the login screen checked. If it isn't checked, it won't create or use the playerslot.txt file. This may be why you can't find the file.
Otherwise, Feefa J has it pretty much correct.
The playerslot.txt file is located within the games installation directory inside a subfolder based on your Account Name.
It can become corrupted or set to read-only. If that is the case then you can simply delete the file and the game will recreate it and you'll be able to re-order the character list and have it saved. -
I've noticed this happening since (atleast as early as) i22, but only on new toons. I move the toon slot where I want it later and all is well.
As Tex said, the file is located here:
%CoX_Install_Path%\Account_Name\PlayerSlot.txt
You can actually edit it offline and it will change accordingly as it's sorted numerically nomatter what order it shows up in the file. -
except I was trying to do it withOut using the licensed name >.<

Quote:Oh wow, yeah that'd do it for sure and it's good to see they atleast know there's a problem. Since nobody else with this chipset has let us know, can you check your bios/settings to see if there's a spot to disable the GPU switch? If there is, then it's highly possible that it could solve many problems users (of this chipset) have posted about.Well I was right. The game was trying to run with Ultra settings on basically an Intel 3000 chipset and ignoring the Radeon processor and dedicated memory.
Once I figured out the issue I downloaded the latest bios from Acer (which claimed to address issues such as these) and after flashing that and wiping and reloading my video drivers...
... CoH boots up cleanly and now the game looks and runs perfectly with all the bells and whistles.
Shadows, reflections, no jaggies....
Much better now.

Yep, I use said widgets on all my windows 7 installs as you can get current numbers as they happen.

Quote:They did that when they got rid of the base only salvage and introduced more than we had before while getting rid of necessary capacity. The point being that they wanted to get us be less self sustaining and use the market more.I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the habit on an individual scale, but the devs were able to do datamining and see how much was going on in the entire game. They saw how much was sitting idle never being used, not being sold on the market, not being crafted into enhancements, just collecting digital dust, and decided that SG salvage storage needed to be cut back as a result.

Yes, like the others said there are Respecs and Freespecs. You can have as many Respecs as earned/purchased on the account/toon, but only one Freespec (Used to get em when major changes happened to the game on a global level).

Isn't this that what we used to do when maps would come up blank back in pre-i13 times?
