Not that I watch it (the guys at work do during lunch/dinner so lack of choice :-p), but this sounds alot like what happens when I see football players huddled together and they suddenly clap "break" (or whatever). It's nice to know that this 'feature' works, thanks for letting us know. ;-)

Shush You! I don't need this last resort laptop getting wind of such things until I can afford that build we worked on a while back. ;-)

After reading that it feels more like something's overheating/failing. First reaction is GPU, but could be the CPU straining as well.
*re-reads build*
Hmm, you might wanna double check/redo your thermal paste if possible, but I'd check the fans to make sure everything's running during the time it does this. If you don't think the temps are teh problem, then what about hard drive maintenance. When's the last time you defragged that system? Unless it's an SSD, then it'd be a good idea to run that over night for good measure anyway.
That's all I've got that I can figure through today's Fibro-Fog... -
Quote:Coming from an outsider to these spats, your posts do tend to read as if they're being declared as fact (I've done the same thing before, proof reading helps when you're tired). I realize you dont' intend them as such, but shortly afterwards somebody comes along with a 'correction' and your very next reply has the tone of a child who just had a bully take their favorite toy away (and means to get it back). I'm honestly surprised there haven't been any/more mod-smacks because of this. No, you react badly to my post because you can't separate "uninformed opinion" from "fact".
You're putting an attitude to my text that is not there while assuming a different meaning and inserting words into my "mouth".
Try not to take any of this as anything more than observation. I do alot of self reflection in my daily life and find places where something just didn't come out the way it was in my head. The hardest part of having a conversation via text format is learning to properly interpret eachother's meanings/emotions as we as humans are taught to do so by visual/auditory clues in the real world making our virtual world much more difficult to master for some of us. -
Quote:Maybe it's because I was always looking for the 17"-19" screens back then. :-pI don't know about that. 1280x1024 was common back in in the 2003-2005 era. I find it amusing that my 8 year old laptop has a much better LCD screen than my newer 3 year old model.
Nowdays, 1366x768 is on just about every laptop. Yeah, there are some with nice big resolutions, but when I get asked, "Is this laptop good?" guess what screen it has....

Which is why they make great youtube videos, but I still won't be caught dead playing an actual toon. :-p

Quote:Good attempt, but I 'believe' what the OP is looking to find here isn't a settings issue. They're looking at how things are coded and where the system is/isn't letting go of memory. As far as I understand it though, Windows has a nasty habit of not letting ram go at all until the app is fully shutdown. So if these windows are being treated as part of City's main program, then they'll likely never release the memory until you logout.Try opening your graphics options tab in an area with somewhat high graphics load sometime. The FPS will be cut almost in half.
Also, don't flick any slider, tested this with window opacity, back and forth a few times. It makes your netgraph go crazy, super laggy.
Those got added to the bug list. -
Quote:I 'think' what they're wanting is more like /savetray || /loadtray....as would many of us I'm sure for respecs. That way if there were powers that had been changed, then the trays would simply need minor alterations. If the person simply wanted to rearrange slots, then it would be a total lifesaver unless you write slot locations down like I used to.Well, I really don't like your proposal of primary/one, secondary/two, pool/three. My powers go *all over* the place, and some of them don't come out onto the board at all. Tadaaaaaa, not everything has a prime solution!
/cleartray gets us both to the same starting point, and there doesn't need to be any extra coding done; it already exists. -
I had no issue with it. I had my standard 3 trays, tray 4 used for my reusable temps (2nd Mut, base tp, etc) and tray 5 for limited use temps. the latter to hide up near the nav panel and are mostly out of the way, yet easy to activate when needed.

Cost or no cost, atleast you found some sort of resolution to the issue.

It's a Celeron based chip, they're not designed for anything that comes remotely close to advanced video/graphics rendering. Perfectly fine for the average user who goes online, creates word documents, listens to music, etc.

Quote:Actually, 1920x1200 was a rather common laptop and flatscreen LCD resolution before the 1080 craze started up.If you want to call it "odd" go ahead. We will just have to agree to disagree on that.
There are serveral players here running 1920x1200 including our Paragon Studios hosts when they had serveral display setups running 1920x1200 for the meet and greet.
This is why *I* had said Todd needs to run in coh safe mode. Since that resets the game graphics to the min level. -
Yes, these exist...I bought one for my dad once from the Pentagon gift shop. Neither the security team nor my commander were amused when it went through the xray machine. Mind you, this was in the late 90's so security was quite as uptight. -
Quote:Not really, but I hear there's a scale out there somewhere that gives you an idea. And by scale I mean there's a Zero point and a Minimum point. It's been 5+ years since I last played CoH, and needless to say much has changed since then.
1. While in the SG base editor, is there a way to see what the upkeep/rent would be?
Quote:2. If i'm editing the base and accidentally delete a room containing storage bins, what happens to the salvage/enhancements that were in those bins?
Quote:3. Is there any way for an *SG* to "go rogue?" We had a pre-CoV SG that we'd like to turn into a "VG," and don't want to lose its prestige by having to recreate it. -
Either way /Petition is your direction, but from experience:
I was on a team where we'd tracked down a GM that was on a timer (IE: they showed up between Time A and Time B) and we summarily beat the crap out of it. Or so we thought. Even though we got the GM to its knees, we just Happened to do it right as the timer ran out and it despawned just prior to the DMG calculated for a defeat. Needless to say we waited for it to reset and Royally beat the crap outta that one. ;-) -
Is this a new thing or did it just start happening (IE: post-i23)? Were there any other recent software updates/installations? Unless something's going bad, your specs are more than sufficient from what I can tell. Have you tried pulling up the Task Manager when it hangs (IE: Control+Alt+Delete)? Sometimes other tasks like AV software like to interfere causing both to spike on CPU usage.
Also, I got a kick out of where you installed the game. ;-) -
Am I the only one who half heartedly came here to correct the Title?
NeWay, while I agree that these things would be nice, as others have pointed out, some of it could have great potiential to break the game unless completely rewritten. Here's to hoping for the overachiever hiding in a corner at NCsoft! -
Quote:Is alergic to stars, but not silly enough to screw up the experience for others because nobody will take it. Anybody who is should pull their head back out and wash it off before the swarm noms through their neck and it gets perma stuck that way. ^.^Well we do have a portion of the player base that has such an aversion to the Star/Team Leader position that they literally have been seen standing in a circle at contacts/trainers for teams/tf's/trials spamming LFT for over an hour and then complaining that the server is dead and they can't find teams.
The only reason I mention this is because I'm expecting at least one of them to come in here and claim Bill is wrong.

Too much?
This is what came to mind when I first read the title here: When I was Your Age! -
Quote:A stupid question is the one never asked...or the one asked a second time after being answered once.Guys, let it go. I appreciate your trying to help GuyPerfect. But it is not worth it, let it go. I have learned my lesson about asking stupid questions here.
You brought up a point that I'm sure others were confused about as well. The way I understood it, however, was that the incarnate system was created as a method to get 50's on par with top level bosses, but not in such a way that made them stay that way. IE: some of the shifts work only in trials where bosses are more ubber (if I'm remembering this right). If I'm also remembering the new sidekick tech correctly, then a max effective power shift would be on the order of +4/+5 for others on the team. That's not quite written properly, but hopefully it made enough sense to someone that can help smooth out the thought. -
If you're going for broke (and can still afford to eat afterwards), then sure, but you'd be fine with a 550ti according to the recomendations made for my tenative build.
EDIT: To point out that it was the 560ti, not the 550ti I was pointed to. -
Quote:Was going to point this out as the likely solution/work around.I have had that bug as well, except that it was another image (a player avatar).
It seems that Safari sometimes confuses images in its cache, so all occurences of a forum element can be replaced with another (larger) image.
The only way to restore the original looks that I found was to reset the browser cache. Once the history was cleared, the browser had to re-load all the images and everything was fine.

Info threads are tasty, the last official one mentioned to hold off on said purchase so they can figure out what the issue is.

What do you mean by "changed the setting"? Does it seem brighter/darker than yesterday? Are you outside (ingame) and forgetting that the sun still works *partial snicker, partial serious look*. Need Input!
