Here's another post about Circuit_Boy's fictional underground organization of the "Stalker Defense League", led by our guildmaster, _Castle_.
Here

Oooh. Can I join?
Also, adding in my two cents worth. This may be the only thing I've disagreed with _Castle_ so far - blasters do MORE melee damage than scrappers. For instance, check their BI - /elec and /EM blappers get a quick-spam attack that does 5.44 BI of damage, a slightly slower, but still pretty fast attack that does 7.66 BI of damage, and a strong as hell but slow attack that does around 9 BI.
By contrast, let's take a scrapper powerset - MA, for instance. Our quick-spam attack does...2 BI. One of our medium attacks does 4-5 BI. Our big attack does about 6-7 BI. Sure, we have a few more, but all they do is make chains longer. And don't tell me blasters can't maintain good melee attack chains because of less attacks - their melee attacks animate fast (except for the finishers) and recharge long enough for them to, and if not, you can always pad out the chain with quick ranged attacks (Ice, anybody?)
The only scrapper powerset that can put out damage on a level with elec or EM is Broad Sword, and it's a LOT slower. That, and all the damage it does is lethal.
Also, I'd gladly take doing mostly energy damage + 30% unresistable in PvP over a 5% crit. -
You know, reading this thread would be a lot easier if you didnt tyep liek thsi

Just imagine an all natural character (no lvl 14 travel power) with the following:
Sprint 3x Microfilament
Combat Jumping 3x Microfilament
Swift 3x Run
Hurdle 3x Jump
I'd love to see how fast and manuverable a character like that would be.

Don't forget SR Quickness! -
Coupla points.
1) 5% in PvP? So other players count as minions for purposes of determining criticals?
2) Also, most blaster attacks are less resisted, being energy/fire/cold, and their base BI is a ton higher than most scrapper powers. For example, MA's three highest damaging attacks - CAK, CK and EC - are 4-ish, 5-ish and 6-7ish BI respectively, and both EMs have attacks at around 5ish, 7ish and 9ish BI - and they have those first two fairly early, at that. -
Ah, but they HAVE range. So, screw'em if they ignore that.
You're trying to compare someone who focuses only on one of his powersets instead of someone who has to take and slot both heavily.
And don't even get me started about how stalkers need to be in Hide to pull off AS, or how easily doublestealth can be broken, or the disadvantages of a melee-range snipe interrupt. -
[ QUOTE ]
They're not idiots. If they're looking at the numbers, assume they've normalized them somehow per AT.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd think so for average, but less so regarding the time factor. -
Kill Count vs Death Count is higher. Right.
Now, is this Kill Count vs Death Count TOTAL? Because if it is, we could argue that it's due to stalkers having a high presence in Bloody Bay and Siren's due to most other villain ATs not shining at that level/refusing to go there.
Is this Kill Count vs Death Count judged by TIME? If I have a 10 kill 1 death ratio over one hour, I'll be performing substantially worse than, for example, a blaster who managed to score a 30 kill 20 death ratio.
That's all I'm going to ask. -

This is pretty silly. I personally know that as a Stalker, I get slaughtered plenty in Siren's Call. I also know that the only thing that prevents me from getting repeatedly ganked is Placate.
Aren't there more important things to nerf? Storms? PFF? Regen for Scrappers? EM for Stalkers?
[/ QUOTE ]
Storm got nerfed today too. And theyre just as unhappy as you are. Does that make you feel any better?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, they sure are busy crucifying him over that.
And I never knew he was biased towards us. Gasp.
Of course, it's most the same rhetoric from the same people. Way to take quotes out of context. -
Well, dark regen is an insanely powerful heal, so I'd think that makes up for it.
-
Captain Tactics: This person, being the team leader, believes he's the god of effective team micromanagement. Thus, he will yell at the stalker to scout, the brute and MM to tank, and the corruptor to heal and rez him, and blissfully ignore the fact that the entire team is going to pieces faster than a bus falling off a cliff.
His teams never include doms because Captain Tactics can't think of anything good to do with them. -

Gotta add 1.
Mastermind. Spammermind. This person feels sorry that only he gets to see his pets verbally respond to his orders and wants to share the joy. So when he writes his own petcom macros he has his pets ennuciate every time an order is given. Oh and it won't be a short response either as that would deprive the world of priceless wit every time the same order is issued. No it will be whatever he can cram into field limits. Sure teammates might complain when they tab and attack a minion in the next mob rather than the AV in front of them because they can't see anything but white text bubbles, but depriving the world of his wit would be a greater crime.
[/ QUOTE ]
I teamed with some guy like this once who thought he was the King Of Macros or some crap like that and spammed one PARAGRAPH per buff/attack/pull/whatever. We promptly scooted off the team after half an hour in and left him to die. -

I dont even open with AS on squishies!
[/ QUOTE ]Right..right...and you constitute the tactics used by the vast majority of stalkers? No...no you don't.
The vast majorityof stalkers open with AS. EM's use ET or Bone Smasher for the disorient on squishies...but on scrappers and tanks...AS.
It's a safe bet that the majority of PvP'ers on the hero side are scrappers.
If you want to argue that AS gets "activated" the fewest number of times...or actually "hits" the fewest number of times...then I'll chalk it up to typical pro-stalker logic arguing nonsense: arguing something completely immaterial to the issue.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm right because I see what I want to see. You all don't belong to the majority because you're all saying the wrong things.
And of course we're pro-stalker. We actually PLAY the damn class instead of getting dogged by a couple of them in PvP and coming on here to blow off steam, so we know how they work. And if you don't think we're objective enough, you don't exactly have a rock to stand on either.

Wait a second. You have someone STANDING AROUND after being ASd and placated long enough for AS to recharge?
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe you're coming late to show punchy.... but you dont' have to be stationary to get AS'd Hello?!!!? What do you think this thread is about.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fun fact: You can't activate powers while they recharge.
AS has a recharge time of roughly eight-ten seconds.
If you're staying around that long after being placated, maybe you should consider a change of tactics.
Alas, apparently all you like to do is argue with us and claim you're right because you'll only see what you want to believe. -
It already IS hard to pull off. Have you tried it?
-
So, uh, how is this different from the two checks at all?
-
I bound it to my F key. Saves all the hassle.
-
Don't forget IR Goggles. Since Siren's is almost ALWAYS under hero control.
-
Sigh. He's just a moron. Ignore him.
At least the other anti-stalker foaming-at-the-mouth people are kinda entertaining. -
Okay, what the HELL are you talking about now? Dear Lord.
I think I'll go do something more productive now. -
Sure, if you remove all nukes' AoE components, remove all extreme damage attacks at other levels (Moonbeam? Knockout Blow?), and get the holy hell out of this forum and stop trolling already.
-
I think they said that the point of removing one-shots was to give people a chance to actually do SOMETHING - run, hide, activate an oh crap power, whatever. Which is why they put it in PvE, too.
-
...what?
You're not making much sense here, y'know.
And the nerf isn't even going to affect me because I rely on multiple attacks to kill most of the time, anyway. -
...I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or if you're genuinely a moron.
-
Uh, you realize most stalkers don't rely on one-shots because there're only two hero classes they can actually score one-shots on, right? So this doesn't really change much.
