yes, but it's irrelevant if it is at level 50

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree, which is why I doubt it would be.

The more I look at the expansion's wording, the less I think that it is 'side switching'...In fact, it looks a heck of a lot like a simple coop zone with dividing storyline.

Not that actually being able to make 'choices' in a storyline is a bad thing (about damned time actually) but it really doesn't look like it's going to be actual side-switching.

    From the Press Release;

For the first time, hero characters can become villains and vice versa, enabling hero archetypes to cross over to the Rogue Isles™ and villain archetypes to experience Paragon City™.

Wording seems pretty damn straight-forward to me.

Maybe Defenders/MM/Corrs will switch powersets if they jump sides...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Haha.

Doubtful, though. What about Stalkers? Will a stalker suddenly become a Scrapper? Cause everyone knows if Empathy is to good to be bad then...

If we're going to be seeing Poison Masterminds as Heroes, then why not Poison Defenders, or Poison Controllers? I don't ask this just because I'd love a Plant / Poison Controller either.

Basically, every concept excuse should be rendered null now on holding back any set proliferation right? If everything is to be allowed to cross-over intact that is.

No sir, it's not LRN2PvP, it's time that equity be coded into PvP.

Of course with the recently announced Going Rogue, restrictions are about to come off.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    So...

What were you all discussing about Empathy and Pain Domination?

They might as well proliferate everything that doesn't fit conceptually now, right? Since soon it appears we'll be seeing Empathy Defender letting out their evil side, what's the point in keeping Pain Domination from Defenders or Empathy from Corruptors? If any Empathy Defender is capable of being evil...sorta throws out the whole argument doesn't it?

    Gravity (Again)

    [ QUOTE ]
I'd love it if Dimensional Shift were replaced with a power called Gravity Well. Target based toggle that has a reverse repel effect. All enemies in the area are drawn closer to that target.

Gets them in niiiiice and close for some AoE havok.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

Although, Warshades already have "Gravity Well."

Perhaps something like "Gravitational Vortex" which could be a location AoE? Just shooting from the hip.
  11. When we created PvP Recipes, the goal was to have an outlet for really angry, mean-spirited players, using our assets, that insisted on being rewarded for participating in this kind of behavior. Other players could farm these recipes and the best-of-the best would rise to the top.

While we have accomplished some of those goals with the initial launch of PvP Recipes, some have found ways to abuse the system we put in place. We are not blind to this happening, nor did we not expect it. However, it is time to take action regarding it, so please be aware that we are about to implement a zero-percent "we don't care" policy on the extreme abuse we are seeing in the system.

One thing was made clear to me when I interacted with the players in the PvP Zones. It was that you guys really don’t like me. The constant spam of "Posi you suck!", requests for “Kill Posi” missions, 5 player gank squads, and the inability to find quality players in the PvP Zones are all things I heard complaints about over and over while I was logged in on Tuesday.

So here is a list of things that are going to happen:

    • Nothing

Some of you have taken the stance of “how does PvP hurt the game?” and “shouldn’t I be able to play the game the way that I want?” What we want to make clear is in order to keep the game easy, boring, and carebear, we have to maintain a PvP:PvE ratio. This is a ratio we’ve spent years attempting to achieve. PvP Recipes is not immune to this, and we are taking swift action to see that the problems players are seeing and are being exposed to are left ignored.

    4. Fill fruit basket with cheese and candy.

    5. Mail it to the Developer's office.

    Trust me, this will work.

edit: After just reading through the rest as well, I can say I 99% agree. As I do favor the mez protection to resistance change. The NPC's are a huge problem though in zones, as well as their balancing of the mez durations. Mez attacks should also take into account their activation time, and range. Considering a melee stun with a 3s activation might have the same duration as a ranged one with a 1s activation seems really off to me.

I've also constantly [censored] and moaned about AoE damage in PvP, especially throughout the beta where I posted a couple threads on it that never really got more than a few responses. Even though they generally have a higher endurance cost, recharge, (both unchanged in PvP) they do piddly damage even though it's a miracle if you manage to catch more than two targets in an AoE unless it's a Mastermind and his pets.
  13. Yeah, as I posted in the patch discussion thread, Martial Arts Shuriken is actually it's strongest attack. A shuriken should not be doing more damage than all melee attacks on a melee-centric mob, especially moreso than their tier 9, three second animating, slow-motion kick to the head move ( I forgot the name... ).

Being able to choose which ranged attack would also be nice.
  14. Is the custom critter's detailed powered info correct?

    If so, then I'm a little confused on how effective the melee powersets ranged attacks are. For instance, Martial Arts average damage on powers;

    Thunder Kick = 224
    Storm Kick = 353
    Crane Kick = 524
    Eagles Claw = 610
    Shuriken = 701

What? Shuriken does more damage than Eagles Claw? Sure, it only does 508 up front, but the rest over just 4.25 seconds...

Correct me here if I'm wrong, but most melee heavy NPC's in the game before you tried to stay at range to avoid their heavy hitters. Such as Freakshow tank, you stayed away from the big claw/hammer but took the disc/focus thing they through. But against a Martial Arts critter I'd rather take a fricking Eagles Claw to the head than a Shuriken...

    Hasten

I'd kill for a "aura toggle" for just about every power with a aura. Such as Integration (omg I have a radiating green power-plant in my chest!), Hasten, and so many more.

Personally, I don't need a aura to tell me I have them toggled on, as I've heard that was the general reason for toggles having special effects, besides the obvious "oohh pretty lights" art. Especially now considering defensive toggles don't detoggle when mez'd, only suppress, I know they're going to be on pretty much all the time unless my blue bar drops.

I don't know how much work it would take to do this, or if even possible, but it would mean a lot to me.

Also, I know I can adjust it to where I don't see *any* of the effects which would eliminate Hastens/Integrations/etc's effects but it would also reduce all others, which many I like.

But yeah, short of all that, I'm also not a fan of Hasten's aura.

[ QUOTE ][LIST][*]The devs Have never promised complete proliferation.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there an interview where one of the devs say we won't go two issues without proliferation?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    yes there is

    [/ QUOTE ]

Also BaBs (I think) said they were planning on Porting everything but Empathy and Poison. (This was prior to I12)

    [/ QUOTE ]

When was the last proliferation? Issue 13?
  17. Concept-wise then, Scrappers need Ninjitsu. Right, Batman!?

  18. After having just read all those interviews with Matt Miller from various sites, I'm just hoping they complete powerset proliferation before throwing out everything else they have "up their sleeves."

I want my Ninjitsu Scrapper damnit!
  19. Amazingly, there is also the option to exemplar/malefactor in this game. So even though I may have went from 1-50 through AE missions, I can still go back and do pretty much anything I want. I've went back and done plenty SF's/TF's once I've been 50. I can even go into the low level PvP zones and have my level adjusted accordingly.

To some people the grind, doing the same scanner/paper missions, seeing the same enemy groups over and over, or what have you, all the way to 50 over a course of months could be distasteful to them.

I think it's neat how no matter how you level, or how fast, you can go back and do basically anything with your low level friends on here. It's unique from most other MMO's in that way.

*This is not saying everything with the AE is perfect as is, plenty of stuff that could/should be fixed/adjusted. It's just a statement that 50 is not an end-game where you have to stop playing because you can't play with your friends or do low-level content*

1v1 I do very well against blasters with my Ninja/Storm Master mind... ymmv.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    blasters without tp foe.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How does the new TP resist IO's work? Also, isn't there a Day Job Accolade that grants TP resist now?
  21. IMO, I'd prefer Kick and Punch to be ditched from the fighting pool and simply replaced with a powered up version of Brawl, same animation, able to work with everything without redraw, with higher damage/recharge/cost/etc.

Then add another power, perhaps some sort of passive to Fighting to round it out. I have no suggestion for that. I'd just really like to see a version of brawl I might actually use once out of the tutorial.

    Talsorian Wings

I don't think wings being able to actually create lift or allow the person to fly is really necessary. I mean, have you seen some huge characters with the cherub/bat/etc. wings? Sometimes, some things are just for show.
  23. Adjust their durations in PvP based on activation time, range, and hard-soft control perhaps?

It seems absurd to me that a melee stun that might take 3s to activate has a base stun duration of 2s compared to a 80' foot range stun, 1.83s activation time, with the same base stun duration.

Same with a sleep being the same base duration as a hold. Makes no sense. The sleep will break as soon as they take damage, yet the hold will last through. Yet, same duration.

    Rethink the mez powers...
  24. [ QUOTE ]
The problem with your point is that you're asking the Devs, who are AGAINST farming and low-risk/high-reward situations (as made evident by the decisions already noted) to make a move in favor of farming.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How is asking for increasing the difficulty of missions, adding more enemies to each spawn, moving towards low-risk/high-reward? Wouldn't it be high-risk/high-reward? ( I know what you mean, but if the risk is low then I think the problem is elsewhere.)

As for RMT'ers they wouldn't be here if people weren't taking them up on their offers. Farmers aren't the ones buying off of them.

And as you mentioned they introduced merits so people don't have to farm to get their "gear". So it's not like Farmers have a stranglehold on any resources. Besides what, purples?

I just think the pro's of adding this outweigh the cons myself. And as I posted already, I don't care for farming any missions over and over. I would just like to be able to add larger spawns for some of my characters even when solo, for challenge and efficiency.
