Let me help with a few adjustments.
Change the IO to the blessing of zephyr knockback on super speed IF U really REALLY want KB prot as a dominator. (B/C domination already provides KB along its other effects)
So that frees up slots on CJ and weave for other things.
Id choose hibernate over spirit tree always. Hibernate is a great o **** power and also a very nice hp/stam refill

Heres my current build. yes its very expensive but i grinded emp merits + villain merits daily in order to purchase everything i have here(it took months of daily tedium but im very happy now that I have this build).
As for mace mastery instead of ice mastery well I had it before but I just hate the redraw of thorns. I still needed an s/l shield and i also hated the way frozen armor makes me look so mace allows me to just focus on my /thorn attacks after ive confused/rooted the mob i want to kill.

if you want to properly slot creepers you really want to abuse those procs. creepers is its own unique power and procs are really OP in it. I fit 4 dmg procs in mine the 2 targeted aoe and the slow/knockback proc. Yes creepers needs an acc check in order to spawn more vines in order to do more dmg BUT you have thorns which does MASSIVE -def on most of its attacks. a couple sprinkles of thorn burst and fling thorns should net you a nice garden of those mob destroying vines.
-
My suggestion from my plant/thorns dom is to leverage those strong melee attacks you have. get and slot skewer ripper and even thorn burst. for your epic id go for ice mastery for the op sleet, a much needed s/l shield and ice storm. For IOs you want to achieve perma dom and if you do decide to leverage the melee attacks then invest in that s/l def.
-
i dont enjoy non support ATs at all. if all they bring is damage then i find that very boring like scrappers/stalkers.
I also dont like tankers because IOs/accolades/incarnate powers can push "squishies" to great survivability so whats the point in them. esp stone tankers nowadays where clarion barrier and aoe buffs are tossed around like crazy in the trials.
finally i do not enjoy powersets that do not live up to the mantra of their respective AT. Illusion control is not control to me and from lvls 1-50 they are nothing more than XP leechers when i get teamed up with one. crappy controls, pets that do not do enough dmg outside of being purpled out at 50, etc. i mean if you want to be a pet controller roll a MM then. -
lol i really want someone to tally this at the end. i wanna see how people view tankers and peacebringers. /barf!
-
if u got a pocket kin then go ninja all the way since you dont want to play robots or thugs. I say this because bots/thugs are considered great b/c they do what they do best, that is aoe dmg. ninjas dont have much aoe however they do what they are supposed to, very nice st dmg. This is why i dont like the new demons set that much, the demons just dabble a bit in everything no criticals like the ninjas or burn patches like the bots/thugs. IMO Ninjas "aoe" dmg is fast dispatching of mobs one at a time. For a secondary if you havent tried dark id pair that up with the ninjas or wait for time manipulation. thermal is kinda meh on the squishest mastermind primary and even double thermal shields will not cap your ninjas so your still prob going to have to micro them ALOT and heal them ALOT. forcefield would be good but i woulndt roll 2 forcefielders as thats overkill on the def right there.

1. dominators
2. masterminds
3. controllers
4. defenders
4.5 corruptors
5. fortunatas
6. widows
7. crabs
8. everything else
9. ???
10. absolutely will never touch the tanker class. -
yes so sad mercs had to be the red headed step child of the mastermind set. would have loved to have a "thugs" equivalent but the devs and all theyre glory decided hey this is the set we will **** on with everything bad we can possibly come up with. inferior damage, inferior abilities, inferior special power(SERUM)
yet they have such nice looking pets
-
if u can wait i suggest ninja/time. you should have 38-39 min(jounins will be softcapped) def on the pets with powerboosted far sight, manuevers, pet unique and the minute def the ninjas have innately but atleast your secondary makes you participate along with your ninjas rather than watching them do everything for you. For the events your ninja do take damage you have a heal, you also have 2 ways to facilitate their damage other than smoke flash spam. your "fortitude" buff and your "anguishing cry" debuff ie temporal selection and slowed response. Honestly they really need to do something about FF. It was great back in the days when we all had TOs/DOs/SOs but slowly as HOs and IOs came along I see 0 benefit to being a force fielder now that we have traps and time as secondaries. Hell if the devs keep to their promise of full powerset prolif cold dom should put the nail in the coffin for force field and they should just delete the set
-
Quote:which is why i dont understand purpling out a fire/kin when u can make an insane plant/kin plant/storm plant/fireIncarnate Plant doms have what might be the best damage, even over fire. Why? Reactive Core Flawless Interface 75% chance for 65 points of fire dot which WILL carry into your Carrion Creepers. They attack about every 2 seconds. So that's, roughly, 50 damage every 2 seconds from each creeper just with the Incarnate proc. With more procs enhancements I have mine doing an average damage of 140. Yes that about as much as what Flares does, enhanced, with Embrace of Fire activated.
Hot Feet can't match that. It can only proc every 10 seconds. Carrion can proc every time they attack, every 2 seconds. -
Yes as many others have said before you should get both. perma dom requires some IO investment but if you can afford it push for that def softcap. Your dom becomes a whole another beast when you achieve def soft cap on top of permadom.
-
Quote:You must be very popular on your SG/VG/server. nice of you to "praise" someone yet still convey your negativity because they view something different than you.As long as you have fun with it! Although I think it doesn't compliment Demon's Resistance strengths at all, and you basically give up both a capped Resistance number and a Softcap number, and trade it for...
... I guess if we abuse Power Boost, about 35% Defense (With Maneuvers + Pet IOs and whatever value the base Demon AoE Shield is +20% from IOs
Bleh.
And to expand a bit more on that its 37.5% def after powerboost, manuevers, and pets IOs and the demons have 58% smash and lethal 74% fire resist with just the demon aoe buff(with a generic res IO) and the 2 pet uniques. Then Times juncture should be around 14% -tohit with 4 dark watchers and you have a very B A L A N C E D combo of LAYERED DEF. You know the thing that bots/traps MMs strive for? softcapped def with a res shield(ie charged armor)+ bodyguard.hell if you wanna be cute grant invis should add around another 2.5% def AFTER suppression and fits your build another LOTG!! Oh and the demon prince loves to cast shiver which stacks with his chilling embrace which should stack(for overkill purposes) to the aoe -slow -recharge in /time. my god someone record a video of a x8 spawn with this combo because it seems to me this is pure autowin.
Demons love being in melee b/c of all the pbaoe and aoe they have. im pretty sure id have fun too with a combo like that b/c with ur heal and the demons heal, well im sure we all can see where that will lead.
AVs? bleh id rather mow down x8 mobs over and over again for more chances at purples to further fund my future IO projects than go hunting for some silly AVs. And time will help with that just fine. So just as other have mentioned this powerset will be great for MMs and will work just fine with our primary. get over yourself(or maybe get over you precious bots/traps or thugs/traps or w/e) and realize there are other powersets out there. this game is easy enough anyways we dont need every damn set in the game to plow through content on auto pilot.
Oh and to Klaw DAMN YOU I already have a name, the IOs, and a background story for my new NECRO/TIME b/c its the one MM primary I dont have at 50 yet and now . . . i want a demons/time!! haha not enough slots!!!! -
Quote:with its long recharge the power can drain all ur end it still doesnt matter. slotting for end is a waste, how often r YOU casting creepers, my guess is once every 100-120 secs. id rather get more damage out of it than i can.You have to understand what types of powers it's using and how often those get used. It takes the immob. damage proc, but it doesn't use the power enough to justify slotting it. I would use that proc for Roots. The slows and AoE one is what works best. In the four other slots you want recharge and some end reduc because the cost is 26 to cast.
-
Quote:yes creeepers can destroy mobs with good procs mainly the targeted aoe and the slow dmg proc. i added the other 2 because well why not!Damn.. do creepers do a lot of damage with those procs? When I had my Plant, procs didn't work with Creepers.
i efffin love procs.
-
Quote:agree 100% time will be an amazing team support set. I cannot wait. And since time is such a damn BUSY set it will be perfect for MMs in which you can use your bodyguard to keep u safe as you buff/debuff or set pets to attack while you SUPPORT your team. The only thing i hate is how long its taking for issue 21 to come live.Heavily Nerfed? Really?
+recharge having no effect on pets is NOT 'heavily nerfed,' it is a single aspect of TWO POWERS that has no effect on THREE powers from a Mastermind's primary powerset.
Everything else that is less effective on a mastermind is due to archetype modifiers, the SAME EXACT THING THAT EVERY OTHER MASTERMIND SET 'suffers' FROM.
That is not Nerfed, that's an aspect of game balance, and the +recharge is because of errors in pet AI caused when powers recharge too fast. Would you really want all of your pets using nothing but Brawl all the time, at level 50, when fully upgraded?
I mean, by your logic, every mastermind set in the game suffers from 'Heavy Nerfing' simply due to MM AT modifiers, lower HP numbers, and pet AI. Even the 'top-tier' powersets are Heavily Nerfed simply because they are on a mastermind.
You are considering this set SOLELY from a soloing perspective; YOU ARE WRONG TO DO SO. This set will be very welcome on teams of all kinds even before the mid 30's. Layered, stacking, complimentary buffs and debuffs are a huge advantage, and Time has these in spades.
/Time masterminds will be VERY welcome on teams, and have NO trouble soloing. Temporal Selection alone is damn close to Fortitude in utility, even from a Mastermind. -
Plant has ruined the control primary for me. Its that freaking good. Once you invest in the build plant just absolutely leaves the other sets behind in terms of cc/damage. I mean I really want to play another dom but i dont want to make another plant just so i can do it with another secondary assault set. b/c honestly when you proc the hell out of creepers. you can just use roots/flytrap/creepers to clear spawns of x8 mobs and still clear it faster than any other combo out there imo. posi proc/javelin volley/impeded swiftness/explosives strike + 2 HOs for damage is what my creepers look like. and with global recharge its up before it expires anyways.
-
My Ninja/Storm is my absolute damage chart destroyer, however keeping the ninjas alive is where the damage gets severely knocked down but in the incarnate trials like BAF the ninjas along with 2-3 tornados and lightning storms as well as perma freezing rain with smoke flash getting spammed every 6 secs on the genins, its damage orgasm! Yeah its crazy too see how much carnage they do to the AVs and the prisoners.
Outside of trials id rate my thugs/dark as a faster soloer than my bots/traps. One tarpatch every spawn along with the -tohit allows my arsonist to just light up spawns. Plus the enforcers do such nice aoe dmg that its quite unreal how superior they are to other lieutenants from the other sets. -
Why are you so negative? Your analysis on time manipulation is so full of disdain and now your again putting down another build submission. Obv you pointed the weakness you forsee and yet people will still play this because it will be fun to them. Its almost as if bots/traps or thugs/dark or w/e combination of those 2 has ruined the MM class for you. I personally have 5 lvl 50 MMs all purpled accoladed out to the billions(in fact im finishing up my most expensive build for my bots/traps soon when i purchase a panacea for my triage beacon all the while having 193% global recharge and ofcourse capped def) yet i still love my "subpar" necro/storm and ninja/storm. I for one cant wait for issue 21 because i already have saved up the IOs for a necro/time and demons/sonic as soon as i can make them. Will they be the +4/x8 multiple AV/EB/GM game destroyer like my bots/traps prob not but i will still enjoy them. I dont want every damn combo to be the OPness that is bots/traps i just want it fun and enoyable.
