Was just a suggestion mostly for some added help in leveling. No reason really you need it at all at 50 with softcap and over 100 defense debuff resistance, cept that it's a nice place to stick yet another Lotg recharge or since you're skipping travel a Gift of the Ancients run speed. Course with SR as a secondary it's not like you're hurting for defense slots
  2. Lose stealth for health and use a stealth i/o in sprint (some set bonuses will help you get to softcap without it). Also I'd recommend slotting defense in divine avalanche. You're also prolly gonna want elude while leveling but can easily respec out of it once you're softcapped.
  3. You're prolly best served making your own mission with enemies who are weak against the type of damage you do and do a type of damage that you can handle easily.

The last nerf was pretty effective in getting rid of the type of mission you're probably asking about and if there were any magic missions that people made to slip past the nerfs they aren't likely to list them on the forums.
  4. Is it possible you were exemped to a level 3 below the level of the enhancement? That's supposed to be the only time they don't work.
  5. Far as I know all of them matter - definitely the two you mention. Steamy mist, arctic fog, and shadow fall will make teammates lose the hostage too.
  6. I'm not sure about this but it also seems to be easier to lose a hostage you're kidnapping than one you're rescuing. Might be my imagination but it would make sense.
  7. Hostages can keep up with you only at regular (not counting swift) movement speed. Turning off sprint and travel power should keep them on you except for the inexplicable moments where they just stop for no reason (or go off geometry at an elevator) and on particularly curvy staircases (like the ones in council mishes) where they sometimes get stuck.

I've found that even though the stealth from celerity/unbounded leap continues for 120 seconds after you detoggle sprint, its effect on the following hostage will disappear as soon as you detoggle.
  8. Let's not forget the Changeling stands in for Prof X storyline from early X-Men to explain away one of Prof X's deaths.
  9. Oh, i thought you had hit 50 and were ready to i/o lol. I'd definitely recommend tough - I noticed in your mids you have strength of will toggled on which distorts your actual resistance numbers a lot. It's actually a 300 second recharge that isn't affected by hasten or recharge bonuses.

I'd dump the epic - you've already got a long attack chain, though the hold would be nice since you won't have any way of disabling a target. That said I don't remember the epic holds being anything worth writing home about. Frankly until the addition of physical perfection I've never had any use for the scrapper epics, but to each his own. Enjoy leveling your toon.
  10. First 2 paragraphs of that last reply were quoted - I don't know how to do the nifty quote thing you guys do - just hit the quote button.
  11. And I ran dropstats on my log files. During the Halloween event I was getting drops either below or at low bracket for expected drop rates on more than 3000+ minion equivalent. It is very possible, that I was victim of RNG, but given history of reintroduction of old bugs into new patches, I wouldn't be surprised if drop rate bug made it into patch for halloween event.

On brighter note: I've been running dropstats post halloween event, and been getting drops in the middle of expected rates.[/QUOTE]

Yep, has gone back to normal for me too, actually since the Friday morning maintenence.
  12. I'd go 3 numina - set bonuses are better. But regen tissue proc is definitely worth putting in there somewhere. Also I just noticed that you take health before the much stronger fast healing - i'd reverse the order and if you're dumping touch of fear that would just put stam back 2 levels. Also if you like touch of fear you should keep it, I know several dark players who like it.

I'd keep dark consumption if it were me - sappers, mu, carnies, etc. But there's always the rez there for 49, or hurdle to go with your superspeed.

If it were me I'd also dump the epic for tough/weave too - you're at 34 resist to s/l with basically no defense. To-hit debuff helps a lot but I'd feel safer with some more damage mitigation on top of it. Again, personal preference on all this.

If only we could try out builds before spending hundreds of millions and locking one in Good luck.
  13. Haven't tried this and not sure if it will work but did you try adding a keybind of the power to shift +click at the end of your form switching bind?

    something like /macro Dwarf "powexec_toggleoff Dark Nova$$powexec_toggleon Dark Dwarf$$goto_tray 8$$bind SHIFT+LCLICK powexec_name black dwarf step"

    /macro human "powexec_toggleoff Dark Dwarf$$powexec_toggleon gravity shield$$goto_tray 1$$bind SHIFT+LCLICK powexec_name shadow step"

Can't think of any reason this wouldn't work but these things aren't my forte
  14. Obliteration, touch of death, titanium coating and gaussian's, all 6 slotted plus steadfast +def and since you said money is no object the gladiator's armor + def.

That said - you're probably not going to get any of regen's defenses up to the magic 35 much less to softcap without severely crippling the strengths of the set. Further, regen has 0 resistance to defense debuffs so unless you were to get it into the 50's or 60's that first mob on itf is going to undo all your hard work.

I rebuilt my regen trying for defense - can't recommend it. I don't really care for the toon but have plans on the back burner to respec it for recharge/hp/regen to really take advantage of the set's strengths.
  15. Bill,
    Some thoughts -
-I'd reconsider the six slotting of Mako and Obliteration. I did this on an early build too until someone told me I was trying to build positional defense for a typed defense toon. You can slot til kingdom come and you'll never get wp's positional defense up to 35, much less anywhere close to the cap. Its smash/lethal's always going to be lame too, which is why that's where its resistance help is. You can do some nice things on its fire/ice and neg/nrg with eradication and aegis though (yanking 2 reactive armor slots out of tough into strength of will to 3 slot aegis in both powers wouldn't be a bad idea).

-I'd move your 4 kinetics to one of the other melee attacks and go for more healing in siphon life.

-No reason to put your Luck of the Gambler procs in the first slot since they function like set bonuses, i.e. will work independently of where/when they're placed. Whether they are effective or not depends on the level of the enhancement and the level you're fighting at. They stop working if you're exemped to more than 3 levels below the level of the enhancement. Looks as if you aren't planning much exemping anyway given the late placement of travel and hasten, but still I'd switch the def or def/end to the first slot.

-I'd use the level 23 slots you have in stamina for quick recovery instead - it's a better recovery boost and you have nothing but the proc in it til 34.

-For similar reasons to the above ramblings I'd move the hecatomb proc up in the build. I usually put the Damage last if I'm six slotting or leave it out altogether.

-I'd dump focused accuracy. It's insanely high on endurance cost and could single handedly cause you endurance problems you wouldn't otherwise have. You're pretty good on accuracy anyway and have the Kismet proc as well. If you feel you need the perception bonus you can always throw a rectified reticle proc into soul drain.

    hope this helps
  16. Janus,
    Couple things
-I'd move your Numina's to the front of high pain tolerance and consider a third or even just a regular heal i/o. The HP gained from that power far outweighs the s/l resistance, which you're getting most of from mind over body.

-I'd dump touch of fear - not often do I find the need to fear a single target. The -to/hit is ok but all your attacks plus rise give that. The actual trembling is broken by being attacked and it's likely that any single enemy you'd want to disable would be the same enemy your teammates would focus on.

-Move your performance shifter proc up to one of your first 3 stamina slots. Gains you an extra 10 levels of exemped effectiveness.

-Not sure you'll need the miracle proc with both stamina, qr and your various recovery and endurance bonuses. It's the priciest i/o you have and you might be better served with something else. Numina or regenerative tissue procs are cheaper and you can never have enough regen with wp - especially since you have basically no defense. I'd even go with another from miracle or 3 slotted numina just to max the regen from the power.

-Switch 4 touch of death for 4 mako's bite - same except you get an extra half point of damage bonus and it's likely to be cheaper. Touch of death is a little pricey due to the heavy melee defense bonus for 6 slotting.

-I'd consider 4 eradication/2 scirroco in shadow maul. Cheaper than Obliteration, bonuses are more in line with wp's needs and you'd get some endurance reduction that oblit doesn't give you.

-Slotting the 3rd touch of the nictus in place of a crushing impact in siphon life would give an extra 2% accuracy and doesn't significantly cut the damage (you'll be 1% under the cap). Plus it'd add 30-50 heal per use depending on whether you use the heal or the h/e/a.

-I'd consider switching out aegis for impervium armors and reactive armors for some extra fire/ice defense. Also I'd find a spot for Steadfast Protection +defense. Not too pricey and is one i/o that would double the defense you're getting from 4 reactive armor.

-I assume you'll be getting portal jockey, atlas medallion, tf commander and freedom phalanx accolades even though you didn't have them selected.

Overall looks like a nice build - hope this helps
  17. Well my original hope when I posted was that maybe, just maybe, the devs wouldn't mind taking a look at the drop rates since they had just fixed it before installing the halloween event, an event which brought with it a bunch of bugs, including a few that had already been fixed. My intention in posting was not to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that the drop rate is bugged, but to suggest that perhaps it should be looked into.
To ask for hard evidence that something at point B is worse than at point A without having any data from point A is a bit unreasonable. If I were able to produce data on a subject from a time before an issue emerged which could use such data, I'm sure I could get a very lucrative job as a lobbyist on one side or the other of the tobacco or global warming debates.

Again, all I can say is that I was getting a ton of good drops over enough hours of play that I can't chalk it up to a lucky streak, and that the opposite has been true since the event was patched, and that most of the people I have spoken to in-game have noticed the same. Not evidence, true, much less reams of it. However, I wonder if the devs would actually require such reams of data to look into something if any mention of drop rates in the forums weren't dismissed out of hand and immediately tagged with "mythology". What exactly is the motivation for immediately rejecting any such post?

In any event, I've said way more than I ever wanted to say on the subject and really don't enjoy pissing in the wind so I'll be signing off.

    Thank you for your society
  18. Don't need air superiority. with decent recharge follow-up can perma knockdown if needed.
Also I skip shockwave with wp but i've heard with practice it can work. Just strikes me as working against spin and rise.
  19. And before you ask, procs don't have a chance to trigger with each hit of shadow maul. Had such high hopes for the arma proc on an earlier build.
  20. Love my claw/wp. Fun leveling and amazing for exemp tf's. But mine's not a cheap build. That said, it's an AOE toon. Works great getting huge mobs of weaker enemies. Rise to the challenge is best suited for large mobs and spin is my all time favorite AOE. You can survive bosses very well but it'll take a while to kill them.

Deleted my electric scrap early on but it was elec/elec. Do however have a dark melee brute. It's pretty much the opposite of claw due to it's lack of a true AOE. It's good single target but one of your better damage powers is Shadow Maul which has a very long animation (basically Sands of Mu). The addition of the quick recharge heal makes up for these shortcomings in survivability.

Basically depends what you're wanting to do with the scrap, but both should be fun.

Would be slightly different with a scrap but here's my brute build
  22. Shoulda mentioned both toons run all wp toggles, tough, weave and sprint all the time. Ninja run is a little too spendy to run in combat on top of that with both toons.
  23. I have a dark/wp brute and a claw/wp scrap. the brute needed stamina and qr while leveling but is now fine with just qr. it is pimped out though and has a numina proc, performance shifter proc and 4 ultimate recovery bonuses. i can fight a very long time without having to use dark consumption - the only time i get endurance probs are when endurance drain is involved. That said, I can't recommend not taking stamina until you i/o the toon. dark consumption's recharge is too long for it to be a reliable supplement to your endurance.

My claw/wp scrap does quite well with qr and physical perfection - never need to use conserve power, which i only took to open up p.p.

I'd say with a dark/wp scrap you could get by fine with just qr assuming some set bonuses to recovery. Physical perfection would be icing on the cake, but it's icing that can hold another 3 numina's for the juicy hp and regen bonuses
