  1. Take a look folks, we have a confirmed release date for Going Rogue.

    Enjoy!

  2. Regen is fine, you just have to get used to how it works now as opposed to how it used to be. As Broken said above, you rely less on passive regen and are now a lot more actively involved in watching cooldowns/timing heals.

MA is something I have no personal experience with, but I hear that numbers-wise its not exactly top tier. But play whatever character you fall in love with, be it for concept, look, numbers, potential, whatever.

You should have free respecs you can use by just typing in /respec, or if you don't want to use that, you can go to a trainer such as Ms. Liberty to activate your second spec and experiment with that.

Hopefully someone who uses the set can pop in and give you build advice. The best I can do for now is to tell you to try it out with SO enhancements and see if you still like the playstyle of regen, and if not, reroll.
  3. Indeed, I had heard that already, and I'm curious as to which AVs he chose to fight. I included two ranged attackers to make sure I was getting periodic damage along with spiky melee damage, so people couldn't be like "It was zero skill and all DA", but to do four at once without DA... that's quite a feat.

And let's not even mention Nihilii doing 6 at once...
  4. It wasn't Werner, though I'm sure he could do it if he tried.

And yes, he meant four at once.
  5. I'd say anytime is a good time to make a */regen, but I might be a little biased.
  6. The first one just feels oh so good.

    Congrats.
  7. Chimera is interesting. I've fought him a few times, and his behavior seems to differ every time. When I first faced him alone, he used his bow exclusively up until about half health, at which point he surprised me with really heavy hitting katana attacks. I died since I had no Divine Avalanche stacks up, being unaware that he even used melee attacks. I tried him again and he used his bow almost 100% of the time, even in melee range, and gave me little issue.

When I soloed 4 AVs at once, he sat in the back hitting me fairly often with his bow while I defeated the other three AVs. When I went into melee range with him though, he used his Katana probably a good 75% of the time, and I ended up near death more times facing him alone then I did when all four AVs were up.

Anyway, congrats on the AV kill Being as though you are doing non-lethal damage, you will find that many AVs can fall to you pretty quickly. Combine that with /SD as a secondary and First Aid built in there, and you'll find your character his pretty high potential. Good luck!

    Welcome!

Good to know we can all start pooling our minds together.

... that just gave me a very odd mental image.
  9. Grats on the AV kills!

Personally, I tried to busy myself in-game by building my second build, trying to get the WeGame client working with CoH, researching Aion, and reading some books.

Nice video there Powerforge, the end is quite amusing.
  10. I recently downloaded the WeGame client in order to be able to record some videos, but it doesn't seem to work. I launch the client, then I launch CoH, and according to the client I'm supposed to see some icon/box in the upper left hand-corner of the CoH game screen that let's me know WeGame is ready to record.

But I get no such icon, and pressing the record button does nothing. I did some searching and found a post on the old CoH forums saying something about WeGame not working after a new CoH patch, but I don't know how old it was or anything since I couldn't access the post (old forums were being converted to these).

Does anyone know what is going on with the WeGame client? Is it just a localized problem I need to figure out, or did a recent CoH patch make WeGame incompatible with it?

    Thanks.

But the cake is a spy!

I just checked, and the same user posted the same built a while back, also saying nothing in the original post that time, and not replying to any other responses.

It's either a troll just getting in a shot at regen, or someone with seemingly little comprehension. Of course, I could be wrong.

Your character's name is LOL @ REGEN, eh?

Aren't you the same guy who posted a joke of a build not so long ago?

I am turning this thread into a debate. Which is better, cake or pie?

Coke or Pepsi??? I'm a Coke guy... how about you guys?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was a Coke guy, but now I'm more of a Pepsi guy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I used to be a Pepsi guy, but now I'm a Coke guy...

I challenge you to a duel, sir.

Umbral brings up something I forgot. When is /regen ever good without mitigation from the primary?

How do you even make it good if you don't have a super crutch like parry or divine avalanche?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Super crutch?

Would you call DM's Siphon a super crutch? The current super-scrapper playing DM/SD would not be able to survive without the constant use of SL in their attack chains. What about Follow Up from Claws? Blinding Feint from Dual Blades? Can we even go so far as calling the Invincibility power from Invulnerability it's crutch?

The primaries have different aspects about them. Why does a tool to get additional defense = super crutch, especially when you have to sacrifice a good portion of DPS for it?

    Werner makes /Regen awesome.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I am deeply insulted.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Somehow, I saw that coming, haha.

It's ok Umbral. I'll be your number one fan if it turns that frown upside down.
  16. Not sure if it'll make it to front page, but most people post in the scrapper guide thread itself.

    Scrapper Guide last page.

    Elec/regen

Unless they change around the set, Elec/* does pretty low single target damage. It's very strong in the AOE department, but AOE damage isn't what you're looking for to PvP.

Roll whatever type of toon you want, of course, but if you want to focus on PvP, I might suggest Broadsword or Fire Melee.
  18. Nihilii, who has soloed 6 AVs at one time, used Aid Self on her Dual Blades/Invincibility scrapper. I don't have it on any of my characters yet, so I'm not sure how it is. Some people like the heal it gives to their characters who have no other way of healing themselves, and some people just hate it.

Regardless, killing an AV is nothing to sneeze at. There are a lot of people out there who don't know how to build their toons in order to do so. Even with the right builds, some people don't know how to play well enough, or what attacks to chain.

    So, again, congratulations
  19. I have no experience with either MA or SR, but I'll give you a few pointers from what I see. You are quite a bit over the melee defense cap, and under your ranged and AOE defenses. You can replace a couple of those Touch of Death sets with Mako's Bite sets to drop some melee def and pick up range def. You also can drop the Obliteration set on Dragon's Tail and put in Scirroco's Dervish for some AOE defense.

Aid Self seems a little over-slotted, as do Focused Fighting/Senses. You might consider dropping Conserve Power, Assault, and Tactics, and picking up Brawl/Tough/Weave, and shifting some slots around so you're not over softcap.

I haven't checked it out on Mids myself though, so you might not even need Weave. Go ahead and play with it for a bit, see what you can come up with.
  20. I meant that I kept the Kismet in the build, which you would see if you opened it. I guess I worded that somewhat incorrectly. The slot in Fast Healing was changed to Santorican's recommendation, but he also had taken the Kismet out of the build, something I wasn't super keen on.

The name of the Enhancement is "Kismet: Accuracy +6%", which is why I thought it was +acc, but I just checked and you are correct. It is +tohit.

I'm not going for PvP, but I thought it might be useful for fighting higher level mobs. If any number crunchers want to show me that I already have enough acc/tohit I'll take it out, but then I'm not exactly sure where I would put the slot.
  21. Ok, I made the adjustments suggested above. Thanks guys.

    [ QUOTE ]

I also believe the perfshifter chance for +end IO in Stamina gives you less end than a regular end mod slot would.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As far as I've seen, it gives about 0.1 end per second less, but is not effected by recovery rate debuffs. That's a fair trade off in my book.

I see, Santorican, that you took out my Kismet accuracy bonus. Is this because I have enough global acc that I'm already going to missing very rarely? I'm planning on fighting +2 to +4 mobs regularly, so I thought it would be a good idea to stick it in there.

Since I am over on the 3.13 AOE def cap, I took a slot from Super Jump, put it in Fast Healing, and kept my Kismet in there.
