I dont have Mids, and I am reading on a mobile device, but it mostly looks good to me. With a few exceptions.
Steamy Mist could use 1 more endurance reducer. It isnt cheap. I recommend stealing a slot from Rise of the Phoenix (maybe) since that power is highly situatuonal.
Flashfire could really use a 6th slot, due to the fact that the base numbers arent great. Maybe a rope-a-dope acc/stun or acc/stun/rech. I would steal a slot from bonfire, and maybe run with just 3 total in bonfire. You will have enough global recharge to simply run 2 level 50 generic damage IOs and a targeted AOE dam/end.
Hurricane is way underslotted. Since your Gake is way over-slotted, I would steal 5 slots from Gale. You lose 7.5% global recharge. Put 3 slots on Hurricane and put in 4 Dark Watchers Despair IOs to get good hit debuff and some end reduction and to re-obtain 5% global recharge. With the other 2 slots, put them on Consume and put 6 Efficiency Adapters in for good numbers and 5% more global recharge. To do that, you will need to take consume at 47 and move Rise of the Phoenix back to 49. Final result is that your Hurricane will be much better and you will net 2.5% more global recharge.
Enjoy your controller!

Maybe the names of the agents in Men in Black? They wear shades.

The umbral dog is definitely Lassie.
Dark Servant is Fluffy. Animate Stone is Stoney. Jack frost is Jack. Singularity is Singy. Phantasm doesnt have a well-established name. I prefer Phanty, some use Casper. The plant should be Twoey, and Audrey II is acceptable, but some say Audrey. For the fire imps, we just call them Impz, usually in a chanting style. "Impz! Impz! Impz!". I have never heard a name that I felt was firm on Phantom Army. Our group of friends calles em "Boyz" even though there is a female. "I'll drop boyz, then you wait a few seconds and cast VG."
Is there a name for the electric imps? AC and DC maybe?
As for the Haunts, I havent thought about it. I think I may try Bert & Ernie and see how I feel about that.

I hate the new Atlas park, and Kings Row is my favorite zone. So, based on this interview, I should prepare for frustration. Oh well.

This is sad, but it really happened to me. I was playing a LOT last fall, and I would always be playing with friends while chatting with them on my friends voice chat server. I used push to talk, using my thumb to trigger the mic. I knew I was playing too much when, in response to a question my mom and cousin were asking me, I reflexively pushed down with my thumb about half a second before I spoke back. I did it several times during the conversation and I had to focus, in order to not do it.
Fortunately I was in the back seat of the car, so they couldnt see my horrified expression!
Anyway, being a true gamer, I merely treated the symptom. I switched from push-to-talk to voice trigger with a headset. Now I am once again unable to monitor my indulgence levels. Yay!

I wish Lassie would never bark, except maybe once per minute and only while attacking.

Quote:I disagree. I have hated all the options presented. Now, if the extra difficulty is 100% optional, and it can be left disabled, such that I can play the missions as I have been doing, with the same rewards we get now, then fine. Carry on. More power to ya.I think there's been plenty of good suggestions for creating difficulty without resorting to something that make alot of people gnash their teeth, stomp their feet, and proclaim unfair. :P

I hate increased challenge, whether by creep over time or deliberate mechanisms, even if player power creep happens. Therefore, I am against any and all complexity / power / difficulty / ally increase / objective increase changes ("tedium"). However, I am ok with them as long as it is something that I can leave disabled while still receiving the awards to which I have become accustomed. Also, the devs would need to be fair about what is considered baseline unavoidable difficulty, without moving the goalposts.
I play to enjoy the game, not to master tedious complexity or difficulty changes. I respectfully request that any implemented changes are optional while allowing me to continue enjoying the game as I have been doing.
Thanks,

The recharge is 210 seconds. I assume duration is 60 seconds. 210/60 is 3.5, and 1.0 of that is part of the basic math. So only 2.5 or 250% needs to be accounted for. Hasten, if perma, counts for 70%. The power itself accounts for 95%. So only 85% remains.
So if you are both permahasten and have 85% global rech, that should do it. I think permahasten happens around 105% global recharge. I would have to do the permahasten math to be sure.
I guess someome else above worked out the math but a little less global rech with almost perma hasten will work too, or be close enough. (edit)

I would probably slot haunt with 4 expedient reinforcements and one soulbound purple, with the 6th slot optional. Basically like I would do with phantom army. In a pinch, 4 soulbound can max dam and rech, or close. I would put the full expedient in umbral.
-
Haunt is definitely a good power. I am in a dark control duo with a friend off and on. We are both level 21. His secondary is Dark Affinity and mine is Poison. Those Haunts really help us.

Local man,
I slot my deceive and phantom army just as you suggest. I guess you were just clarifying.
On group invis, yes I meant that, and not grant invis. Thanks.
Also, when I suggested afterburner, I meant burnout. I may correct my post.
I did already have five 6.25 sets. Decimation, posiblast, cloud senses, and expedient twice. At least I thought cloud senses gives 6.25. There is an acc tohitdebuff set that does. I made that post from memory on my mobile phone.
Thanks,

I ended up keeping my plant/fire but I did remake my level 2 (heh) plant/ice into plant/dark. The dark attacks look great when colored green, and in the costume powers editor, midnight grasp when green looks like vines.
Anyway, by level 22, I am already a beast. The set is slot hungry, but a level 20 miracle in health, 3 slotted stamina, and kismet acc in combat jumpimg means that 3 total slots in each attack is ok. Acc/dam/end with 2 dam generics. I am rocking roots, nightfall, and engulfing darkness plus plenty of single target attacks.
Wicked, so far.

Also if you really wanted to, you could get 5% more by switching the posi set to the targeted aoe purple, which would let you put malaise in spectral terror. I dont know if it takes will of the controller but if it does, you could also move a slot from stamina to spectral terror and get a superior set there.
So basically, you could get 3.75% more out of fireball and 5% more out of spectral terror, bringing the total to an egregious 150% global recharge, not counting hasten.
Lewis -
4 slot basilisk gaze in blind.
5 coercive confusion in deceive.
5 decimation in spectral wounds.
5 unbreakable constraint in flash.
4 expedient reinforcement in Phantom Army with 2 more slots to max rech, dam, etc.
4 expedient reinforcement in phantasm.
5 horror in spectral terror.
1 acc and 5 doctored wounds in twilight grasp.
2 level 50 rech ios or end/rech/slows if preferred in tar patch.
4 dark watchers despair in darkest night.
5 absolute amazement in howling twilight.
5 impervious skin and 1 lotg rech on shadow fall.
1 lotg rech in fade.
Either 6 efficiency adaptor or else as per twilight grasp in soul absorption (?).
6 cloud senses in dark servant.
1 lotg rech in superior invisibility.
1 lotg rech in group invisibility. (edit, thanks local man)
1 lotg rech in combat jumping.
5 apocalypse in fire blast.
5 positron blast in fireball.
1 end reducer in fire armor.
3 rech in hasten.
1 blessing of the zephyr -knockback in super speed.
1 miracle in health.
3 endmods in stamina.
1 other power with no slots. Black hole or rise of the phoenix or burnout or superjump. (edit, thanks local man).
That ought to get you enough with hasten active, going by local mans numbers. The above would give 141.25% not counting hasten. If I calculated right.

Also, for those of us going for ranged defense (or defense generally), keep in mind that anywhere that Cloud Senses can go, not only can you get the 6.25% global recharge in 4 slots, but you can also get a juicy 3.75% ranged defense bonus in 6 slots. When you get a lot of ranged defense and other defense interacting with -toHit, things get real nice!
Lewis -
I personally would put Will of the Controller in it, for recharge and defense. I feel that despite the unusual shape, its a fantastic tool. I love it.
Lewis -
Nope. I hate the idea. Depending on build, the random +1 variation already in the system can grind my mission to an end.
But I wont complain if there is an "unpredictable tedium" option added to the difficulty options, so long as I can leave it unchecked. Heck, I would use an option that flattened out maps to be only the level I requested, tho. Call it "sunday drive" and by all means, leave it unchecked if you dont like it.
Lewis -
Yeah, I think I will keep my plant/fire.
However, I have a level 2 plant/ice/ice I may redo as plant/dark/ice.
Lewis -
I think fire/dark should make a good splattroller. Tar patch, fire cages, hot feet, pbaoe hold, pbaoe defense buff, melee pets, a heal, a recovery power. Should be a fun option.
Lewis -
I think it depends on,your goals. I will, in the long term, be shooting for recharge and ranged defense, so Will of the Controller is likely. I think if you are using it for damage, your posi blast with the s/l proc idea is the way to go.
Lewis -
Sounds fun. I envy you, as it will take me at least through Friday night just to *make* all 12 of my characters. I have had playtime on some of them, but right now I am just working on getting names and concepts.
I have actually played my new Dominators more, just because they are less important to me, and so are easier to make and play. While occasionally typing /friend commands in missions.

Argentae,
Some individuals find the single target immob to be skippable, some dont. But people got irritated when someone suggested that it was flat out a mistake and a bad advice for any controller to ever skip it.
I myself took it on one of my dark controllers, and skipped it on the other two. Therefore, I consider it skippable. YMMV.

I cant see your build since you only provided the data chunk and I dont have Mids handy. So my comments will be general.
First, I would not swap out the purple confuse set If you want defense, esp ranged defense. If anything, you should consider using both (in diff powers). Maybe put Will of the Controller in Vines or in the Sleep power (if you have room).
Anyway, defense is not a waste, but I would focus specifically on *ranged* defense simply to make alpha retaliations (whoever your controls miss) a safer scenario. I would still prefer recharge as first priority, however.
I cant see your build, but if you took box/tough/weave, and hover (perhaps) and maneuvers and used the steadfast global in tough and at least 2 blessing of the zephyr in hover, you would have 16.5% ranged defense. The purple confuse set in seeds, the will of the controller in vines, and the expedient reinforcement set in fly trap will push your ranged defense to 27.91. That is non-trivial. And with luck of the gamblers in weave, maneuvers, and hover, plus the sets already mentioned, you would already have 47.5% global recharge.
5-slotting heal other, regen aura, and adrenaline boost, along with 6-slotting numina in heal aura, brings ranged defense to 31.66 & global recharge to 62.5. Add a second slot to super speed (or fly) and use 2 blessing of the zephyr and you are at 32.91%. That is the point where even a small defense inspiration will push ranged def to the soft cap.
And you *still* have places left to pick up recharge and ranged defense.
So, you can get decent numbers on ranged defense and still function well. Recharge should still be the main focus.
Good luck!
