  1. *Name: Arrivederci Syndicate

*Currently Recruiting: We are currently accepting new members, but I must warn you we're still below 15 members.

RP Level: Heavy/Required RP. Although we're small, we're very engaged in RP.
PvP Level: Extremely casual. We aren't known to do a lot of PVP, though this may change with numbers.

*Theme/Concept: Our theme is that we're a mafia-not just any mafia, but a ragtag group of ex-Marcones. Of course, you don't have to start out as a suit-wearing Sicilian to join our villain group. Generally, the Syndicate regard themselves as full-on supervillains and regard those in Paragon City who call themselves heroes and those who don't call themselves villains in the Isles as hypocrites.

*Activity: We still have below 15 members, but the members we do have are generally super active. When they can't, it's probably because they're on an alt, ha.

Requirements for Membership: If you can put up a decent roleplay, you're in.

    *Leadership: Wild Time

    *In-Game Contact(s): @RobotoHQ

    *Out-of-Game Contact(s): Unholygiant

Coalition(s): Although we are not technically in a coalition, we are currently tied to another smaller group, Final Redemption, in an uneasy truce. We are also willing to find other RPVGs to form a coalition with.
  2. So I'm trying to set a macro that's /em evillaugh, but when I set it as /macro /em evillaugh or anything else, really, it seems to not recognize anything after the first word. This happens with CoH commands, I know. I'm just wondering how you set a macro as /em evillaugh. I'm a newbie to macros... never were really my thing.

Thanks for any support you can give!

    Reverse Missions

So today when I was in the middle of clearing out this ENORMOUS group of Freakshow, I started thinking to myself: Why do we always successfully clear THEIR bases out? Can't they strike US when OUR guard is low?

That's when I got the idea of Reverse Missions. They're quite a bit different from the regular mission. Reverse missions are, exactly what I'm hinting at: the enemy groups attack you at your base instead of you attacking them at their base. So all of you dastardly villains could protect your precious bank loot from Longbow, or you bold heroes could protect the hapless citizens from waves of supercrime.

I've always wanted a bit more variety in my missions. I know you do too. So here's how it'd work: You'd be at the back of your (relatively small) base, chillin' with an innocent, and a small group of (for instance) Hellions attack. You (and your team) would have to thwart the Hellions. Now here's where I get a little confused: I'm not really sure if it would be that the next wave comes after the group is defeated or if the next wave comes periodically no matter what.

I'm sure that if you wipe, you'd have a set time to get back to the hostage and defeat the thugs so they don't get away, or if that's too hard you fail on a wipe. I'm thinking that most of these missions would be tough, especially when solo, so you might get a fist or four to aid you in your attempts to send the bad guys behind bars or make sure those goody-two-shoes don't take your toys from you.

So lemme know what you all think about this. Thanks, guys.

If it was technically co-op, but there were two rival groups in the zone, that you could join up with one or the other, and that would be how it would decide the buffs/debuffs for the competitive side.

One side sought to explore the zone, to learn things from it. The other sought to use the zone to gain power.
Heroes could be drawn towards the need for power, to be able to use it to fight the villains. even if it meant having to work along side the villains, because even then, they would at least have an even playing field.
villains of course, would seek power because.. they're villains, that's what they do

And, both sides could be drawn to the seeking of knowledge because.. well, knowledge is power, as they say.
The villain might seek the knowledge to later exploit it, or simply be of scientific mind and want to understand it.
The hero.. would actually be about the same.

What would they gain? I dunno. The zone wasn't my idea
The reason why both heroes and villains are cooperating in this zone is because both heroes and villains not only want to know the secrets of this world, but they want to reap the rewards of it and create their own bases inside it. Think of it as 'more open space'
  5. This is my idea for a new co-op zone, directed at being a higher-level alternative to RWZ (40-50).

Now, Calamitus is this odd alternative dimension. At times, gravity will cut and walkways will bend and loop.
The walkways are made of an odd purplish energy stretching miles and miles around this (relatively small) world. When you first enter Calamitus through the portal (made very similair to the portals to Recluse's Victory) you stumble upon a firebase. The CSRT (Calamitus Search and Rescue Team) wait for you in the doorway of the firebase. As you can see, the firebase was very poorly made out of scrap metal, hence the holes in the wall you can see the outside from. CSRT worker-bots work very persistently on fixing these holes, however. This Firebase is located in southwestern Calamitus (a rectangular shape, Calamitus is.)

Heroes and villains, from far and near step through the portal to Calamitus. Unfortunately, these portals can only be created in specific places (Dark Astoria and Sharkhead Isle) due to an odd problem with the positioning (interns who stepped through other portals reported being passed out on entry).

CSRT, however, are not the only to inhabit this land and create portals to Calamitus in an effort to explore and inhabit.

Devouring Earth have found a way into this dimension, yet few know how or why. Some think that the Circle of Thorns created their own portal to Calamitus and used Devouring Earth to test, and others think that these Devouring Earth broke out of labs in St. Martial and ran off to Sharkhead Isle frantically.

The high-tech Malta and Crey have secretly worked together to create THEIR own portal into Calamitus, to discover the rich secrets of this world.

Calamir, a mutant-form of Nictus have inhabited this dimension for centuries, inhabiting The Pits of Chaos and most of Eastern/Northeastern Calamitus.

    Locations:
    Calamitus Firebase
This firebase is standing tall in Southwestern Calamitus, high on a cliff with a purple-energy walkway leading onward, down to The Pits and forward to other locations. The Firebase is a central hero and villain location, where they are briefed and equipped, healed and relieved.

    The Pits of Chaos
The Pits are renowned for being the one place where 'nobody ever comes back from alive'. Located directly below the Firebase, only accessible by a no-gravity freefall off the eastern side of the cliff the Firebase clings to, it holds many Calamir to behold.

    Opress Pyramid
A Calamir Pyramid created a very long time ago, when Calamir were first inhabiting Calamitus (which could range from two thousand years ago to five hundred million years ago), located deep on the darker side of Calamitus (in the northeast), it is the main location for the Opress Task Force. Containing hundreds upon hundreds of Calamir, including unusual mummy-like beings and Crey invaders. This is all ruled by the master plan of the archvillain Resus, a super-powered Calamir pharaoh.

    (more locations to be revealed)

    Badges:

    Airborne Badge
You've experienced your first no-gravity freefall.

    Calamitus Navigator
You've discovered The Pits of Chaos.

    Safe and Sound
You've made it back from a trip to the Pits of Chaos without being defeated.

    Brethren Basher/Safeguard of Home/Calamity Crasher
You've defeated 100 Calamir (name of badge varies: Bretheren Basher for Warshades, Safeguard of Home for Peacekeepers and Calamity Crasher for everybody else.)

    Dimensional Jones
You've made it on top of the Opress Pyramid.

    Mummy Hunt/Wrapped in Blood
You've defeated 50 Calamir Pharaohs (name of the badge varies: Mummy Hunt for heroes and Wrapped in Blood for villains.)

    Catacombs of Calamity
You've made your way to the very heart of the Opress Pyramid.

    Eternity Isn't Long Enough
You've defeated Resus the Pharaoh and restored peace to Calamitus... for now.

(Everything is still work in progress, and I thank you for any ideas!)

  7. I made up a brilliant story. Coralax is totally underused, right? I created a place called Syrus Island. Arachnos created it as a fort, originally known as Syrus Fort. Syrus Fort looks much like a regular Arachnos fort. This might add some backstory to where they're all from, too. They sunk most of Syrus Island and used it as their own city. Arachnos quarantined the island and kept any information about it locked away in Grandville archives. They forgot 'something' (whatever that is) and decided to fly in there. Arachnos couldn't concentrate enough troops to do it alone, so they called in the Destined Ones to assist. Though the Coralax are obviously a problem.

This zone would be directed at 20-30, basically villain-side Striga.
  8. Shouldn't Mission Architect be able to give out temp powers that'll last for as many missions in the arc as the creator wants, or limited within the arc? This'd include weapons, travel powers and disguises (such as the one from the anti-midnight arc).
  9. ((Attempting to resurrect. Just noticed how brilliant of an RP this began to become.))
  10. I've never been interested in this sort of thing. In fact, I think they're kind of stupid. I just don't go to em'.
  11. This story takes place approximently 15 years from today. It is a story of what would happen if Lord Recluse completed Project DESTINY and created the world he wanted. If heroes were defeated by Arachnos. It will begin at the moment when Lord Recluse finally defeated Statesman and Project DESTINY works out after all.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
Operative Krimer glanced at the gigantic stage and then back down to his mace. The cheers of excitement and hustling Arachnos operatives filled the crowd.

Suddenly, the stage curtain opened. Grandville was just too crowded.

Lord Recluse himself stepped onto the stage. "Today is a day of glory..." he announced. "Today is the day we have defeated Paragon City's greatest warrior... Statesman."

Cheers bursted about the crowd and his minions were getting too excited. A High Executioner stepped on the stage and handed him a pistol. He fired the pistol in the air.

The entire crowd suddenly stopped. They froze and all stared on stage.

"Attention. This is the greatest victory for Arachnos yet, I understand that. Paragon City is somewhat undefended because of this. But we still have to stay on our guard. We must send our entire force to Paragon City. Rogue Island Police have accepted to take care of Grandville, along with my strongest guards. I will lead our charge into the city."

The crowd began to speak amongst themselves.

"Silence. This may seem like quite a task, but we have executed many of heroes. That should atleast give you an upper hand."

"In the event that we lose this battle, we will simply fire... the atomic bomb. But there's no need to do that. You are not alone with your fellow Arachnos. Destined Ones will be aiding you in the charge against Paragon City."

    ---------------------------------------------------------------
So, how do you like the story so far? Any comments?
  12. "Every hero has a tale to tell, and every spider has silk to spin."

Twelve o'clock. Slept in long enough.
Dr. James Helfinds was about to start another day in New York City with his partner, Dr. Allan Zeron.

"James, wake up. We've got much work to do, we don't have time to wait around like this." shouted Allan from across the lab.
Dr. Helfinds could care less about science right now. He'd been working on a project, but unstead of basic work with Supernatural DNA, he had some sort of "unknown project" that he was working on.

    "What's the rush, Allan?"
    "The project is ready."
"You never told me about it."
    "About what, James?"
"The project I've been working on with you. You've been pouring over the blueprints for days and days, and told me to create genetic DNA without telling me why or what type."
James sauntered into the lab, dusting off his lab coat while he speaks and walks.
"Look, this is important, James, and there's nothing you can do right now. It's almost finished... I just need a test subject and..."
    "I'll be a test subject."
    "But what if..."
"Doctor Zeron, I'm able to walk into one of your inventions and complete it successfully. Just let me get on with it."
"Fine... but you'll have to have a few wires hooked up to you."
"Allan, I'm not a stranger to testing machines. I know what you need. But before I really step in, I would like to know what in the world this machine is."
"This is the greatest invention yet. It is supposed to be capable of creating some sort of... superhuman."
((Feel free to comment or anything, I don't think it will interrupt the story. That's the end of Part I.))
  13. I end up getting the block all the time because my story is too detailed.
Though, I've found it a good idea to post a hero/villian ID on a site, even here.
  14. ((Don't kill it, okay? Just keep trying to RP. I mean, really, what's so terrible?))
The scream was clearly a man. Vuron have now entered a swarm stage, meaning they will swarm quickly on passive or aggressive heroes and villains.
((Feel free to use the Rogue Isles in this RP, or anywhere else, really. Vuron are alot like the Rikti, they don't attack one at a time. Heck, Vuron could be in Beijing.))
  15. "Okay... okay... fine. My name is Leon, I was out with a group of friends one night. We walked into the store. Nobody was there... then one of my friends dissapeared. We looked for him, all we found was tons of the red ant things, and they formed to make a red body, about the size of me." He hesitated for a second. "M-my... friend... pulled out his pocket knife and tried to fight the... thing. It choaked him to death. Then the body ripped open my skin... luckily, I was fast enough to get away and find myself here..."
  16. ((Chameleon, I love the way Danny talks.))
Grav, startled, rose to his knees after the scream. He pushed his way to his feet.
"I'm almost not suprised. There has to be something around here that..."
He stared at the bulked-up form of the red body below the statue that he stood on. It took a great leap to the shoulder where Grav stood and clinged on.
Grav hurried to the other side of the statue, then jumping to the nearby building, the bulked Vuron in pursuit.
  17. If it's a hero, Crey Industries Hero Threat Database (which might not work) is the perfect place to post it. Otherwise, I'd just post it here.
  18. "You don't have a choice when you're going into space. You just do it, or someone gets shot."
Paragon wasn't the same over the course of 110 years. Infact, the entire galaxy changed.
Paragon was no longer a small city, it was a massive space complex. It grew and grew, even taking over rural towns of Rhode Island and transforming them into a common area of the city.
But the changes weren't all for the good. The draft had started up again: but no longer was simply for the basic millitary. It had transformed into space colonization: the Galactic Alliance of North America.
Canada and America were together in colonization as one force. They were drafted straight from highschool: eighteen or older and able to fire a gun. Those were the only requirements.
If you refused the draft or stood up against the millitary, they would execute you. Guns are even more advanced, developing the long-awaited lazer gun, able to instantly seep through an opponent's skin. Body armor, kinetic barriers, more DNA improvements, whatever comes to mind.
But not everything was in the guns. Heroes and villains still lived about Earth.
Arachnos is one of the largest colonization companies in the world, now growing all the way to the middle of the ocean. They've even created steel colonies floating in the sea.
Heroes are drafted with your common soldiers, but they only get a basic set of equipment and body armor. Their powers are good enough, they're probably more advanced than the common assault rifle.
Colonization of any planet habitable was neccisariy. Any uncharted planet was to be surveyed, and, if possible, explored.
((Basic rules yet again. No controling, godmoding, you get it. Any questions?))
  19. Leon spoke back to the dark one.
"Stay back! I just came here to keep myself safe. I can't trust you." he hollered at Draculad.
Suddenly, in the middle of the long stretches of silence, a scream echoed about all of Paragon, an ear-piercing scream.
  20. ((This is a spin-off of Silence. It's only a tiny bit related to Silence, in the thought that Night Storage Inc. was responsible for bringing in the Vuron, but the Vuron don't exist.
You can work as a hero, villain, or basic security for Night Storage Inc.'s many warehouses. Or something else.))
    Creeek... Creeek...
Those were the only sounds heard that night in Warehouse 14, one of many small warehouses located in Paragon that was owned by Night Storage Inc.
Night Storage Inc. was reffered to as a 'warehouse bank', safe storage, but unstead of for your money, it was your supplies and goods.
Every box was marked, and all unmarked boxes would be marked.
John, security for Warehouse 14, steathily creeped about the warehouse, his flashlight in one hand and his nightstick in the other.
His shining nametag reflected in the moonlight that pass through the sunroof. " JOHN " printed in red.
He was extremely worried that someone, or something had broken into the warehouse. He snuck around the corner and shone his flashlight on what seemed to be where the sound was coming from.
"Hey, Jimmy, there's someone here! Grab your gun!" hollered a deep, young-sounding voice.
John rushed to take cover behind one of the boxes. The two hellions opened fire on John's position.
But what he didn't know was that -anything- could be in the boxes. Animals, guns, weapons, even explosives. Night Storage hardly ever checks their storage if someone sneaks it in well enough. Once it's loaded into the truck, they don't bother to check it. The only check would be the scanner before it's loaded into the truck, and someone could easily bypass security with a box.

John decided to make a run for it. He sprinted toward the doorway, then stumbled his way outside.

The next day he reported to the police that someone was in there, and they were looking through storage.

Sure enough, the police checked and found two sleeping hellions, lying on boxes with a collection of miscellaneous items sorted around them. The police stared at John, like it was his fault.

    And it almost was.

((There are two hundred warehouses in Paragon overall. You can really be anything you feel like RPing, why would it be closed? But at the top I suggested a few things.
Anyway, no controlling/godmoding, etc. basic rules, yada yada. Have fun RPing!))
  21. Grav sat down on the hill overlooking the rest of the park. He was tired; combat used much of his energy. But what he didn't know is that the walls were alive.
The last living thing he saw was a raven, and even very few of any bird of prey were soaring about the Paragonian skies.
Eventually Grav made his way to the center of Steel Canyon, where Positron once stood. Grav took one step to the top of the baseplate, looking up at the gigantic statue that tower over Positron's old spot.
The night was continuing, so he leaped to the shoulder of the statue and lay down to rest in complete, dark silence.
  22. ((Grav is somewhere in northeastern Steel Canyon, so no, he's nowhere near anyone right now.))
  23. ((Okay, fine. This thread should be closed.))

I'd like to pop in since my schedule is so barren, but a clarifying question first. Is all of Paragon City infested with the terminites or just certain sections?

((Most walled-in areas are colonized, they can rapidly colonize a certain area. War Walls are un-colonizable, along with any areas that sprayed with any type of toxin. All types of Vuron are resistant to toxins, excluding the queen, making only places that are yet to be colonized vulnerable to the toxins.
What I just found really weird, is that ants just started piling on my desk.))
