I guess I'm one of those few who actually enjoy PvP, particularly when I win.
The problem, as I see it, will be the fact that some folks are well practiced at it, know all the little things about it like heal decay -- now who thought that would be good for PvP? That's a new thing from the past 3 and a half years that I only found out about on a random trip through Warburg.

Jousting, and many other tactics would be useful to know as well.

The concept of 2 vs 2 or 3 vs 3 invites even more tactics and strategies.

To make things "moah fair", I'd suggest that players who are on teams together only be teamed together once - I don't think synergy would be a good idea for an event like this. If the server were a collection of players well-versed in PvP, that'd be something different, but as a whole, I'd say we're not.

So, if work and sleep are not going to interfere, I'd go for some PvP. I went last night into Warburg looking for some, but I guess the weekly strike target shine hasn't dulled yet.

I can't promise how alert I'll be - but I've got my AoE's and my emp parked in the Hive.

In my efforts to educate myself on how to increase my enjoyment of CoX, a friend recommended that I get an SSD. I'd never even heard of them before, so there was a lot of sensory overload. Well, I decided that I'd get one - a small one, 60 gigs. (My current system is only using 30 gigs. )

However, when I read the reviews, there were a lot of bad ones. A disproportionate amount, so I'm a bit reluctant to shell out money for something that can just stop working , and a drive that will "wear" out.

Anyone have any stories about these? (True stories, of course)

I'm curious as to what ATs are having this problem. A friend and I were discussing this over a global channel and the blasters have had no problems.

Hardly enough evidence to support any kind of conclusion, but I don't get to see the code, so conjecture is all I have. : )

Did you see the Strike Pack notes? A badge for doing the stf 50 times? On the same toon in one week, no less. That's over 5 times a day!

That's a real test of an obsessed badger, for sure.

I know this is a pretty big issue with a lot of players. But me, I'd rather have the devs do other things, like make ouroboros tp to all zones, and let all players be able to use it.

Revamp taskforces so they take place in the same zone, within a few hundred yards. Why waste time going from Talos to Sky to Kings row, back to Talos, etc.

That's my biggest problem with the game - too much time traveling to play, instead of playing.

heh, all I want is to have my salvage be sorted automatically within the bins,(across all bins) the same way it is with our personal salvage.

I don't see why there needs to be any change to the way the editor works now. BUT - I'm one of those players who is about function over fashion. I have almost no decor in my base - just porters, storage bins, empowerment stations and insp dispensers. I don't need any fake trees, or fake tables - the whole base is fake, really. That's enough for me.

I really enjoy the way Fitz repeats himself; it really cracks me up. IT REALLY CRACKS ME UP!!

Well, I do have some toons on Freedom, but only heroes.

I've been working on an Elec/elec dom. She's level 25, now.

It occurs to me that I might want to explore the strike forces.

As I'm supposed to be off work tomorrow night, if anyone is awake,

I'd like to do the Silver Mantis SF. I'm not going to mention a time, as I just don't know when it will be. More than likely, it will be 11 pm eastern.

I've never done it before, as this is the first villain I've played to any extent other than going through the tutorial. (I think I have a level 13 brute somewhere, but I probably deleted him a long time ago. )

So, I'd like to have at least one person who knows more about it than I do.

If I ever get hungry during a tf, I hope I'm thing enough to get some food while I'm faceplanted!

The sniping nictus strategy has been, in my experience, used only as a last resort, when the overpowering Romi has shown not to work.

Sorry things didn't go as expected.

We all know that the only defense that comes stock with a spines regen are fast healing/regeneration.

For set bonuses, I'm torn between getting perma-dull pain or trying to boost regen and some defense and resistance.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Well, after much reading, re-reading, forgetting small details, reading again, etc., I finally went with the EVGA GeForce GTX 460 SE and an Ultra LSP 650 Pro power supply. (38A at the 12 Volt Rail)

After installation, I had no problems. Upon logging into CoH, immediately the system tells me I can do Ultra Mode. So, I did. There were some things that were cool to look at - Light purple/blue fire, blue electricity and a few other things, but I really wasn't that impressed with ultra mode. /end digress

The new video card is a 1 gig ddr5 - as opposed to a 128 meg (ddr2?)
My page loads are still longer than I would like - about 12 to 15 seconds from when I click on a mission door until I get inside the door to the mission map. I know this is a pretty long time, as teammates are typically already down the hall clobbering stuff.

So, it's time to get a new MB, CPU and Memory. I'm willing to go as high as 400 for all three - and would love to find a bundle deal, but have noticed that several bundles are rip offs - the mb and cpu priced seperately and added together are cheaper than the bundle.

I have looked at the ones recommended by Father Christmas, but one is out of stock, and it occurs to me that perhaps the recommendations are outdated - coming from 2008.

Because of the video card, I need to have at least one pci express 2.0 slot (with enough room for a double wide card)

Anyone have any suggestions?

Heh, as for the 5th Tuesday, I imagine there is no meeting.

Odd Months would be Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept, Nov.
Even Months Feb, Apr. June, Aug, Oct. Dec.


As there are 7 servers (US servers) not including Champion, Justice, Virtue and Freedom (total of 11) This means that they are probably coming to Liberty about every 7 months.


Mind you, this is just my interpretation of the schedule. The reality may be different. I've certainly been wrong before.

For me, the things each of my characters will do: (eventually)

1. Flux's arc. I just love Frostfire.
2. Cape Mission
3. Stephanie Peebles arc.
4. The Croatoan arcs, all of them - they help a great deal towards the defeats needed for the Geas of the Kind Ones accolade power. This is my favorite accolade.
5. Anton Sampson's arcs. Plenty of Fakes to get a jump on the Unveiler badge, needed for Freedom Phalanx accolade.
6. Tina McIntyre - need the AVs for Dimensional Warder, required for Portal Jockey.
7. All the task forces - needed for Portal Jockey.
8. Midnighter arc to unlock Cimerora.
9. Welcome to Vanguard arc for Vanguard Merits.
10. Kill Dreck! Unai Kemen will give a timed version of the old Drecks mission which used to be untimed and farmed like crazy. My melee toons have always given me great joy in battling him. (need help most of the time with the way they've changed the game, and thus, my toons)

One area of play that wasn't addressed: All players actually beating on Romi, despite the nicti and cim traitors and council running about.

I was on a tf where the first Romi defeat happened in 10 seconds, but the 2nd and 3rd took maybe 15 minutes and several wipes. Turns out that not everyone was trying to get Romi on these two attempts. Three players were distracted by the incoming ambushes. When this was happening, our DPS wasn't good enough.

Our tank finally figured this out and on the 4th defeat we got him quickly.
So, sometimes it's just the players not executing a good tactic.

I'm truly sorry you're deciding to cash it in. I understand frustration. I recall very clearly trying to get to a place called "The Wolf's Throat". I was standing right on the way point, but the bad guys they wanted me to clobber were no where near that point. And, when I found one, the kill total didn't change.

I filed a petition. A GM whose name escapes me asks me if I would like to be teleported to the right location. I said, "Sure." I was then dropped in the midst of several +3 mobs and got summarily defeated in about 2 seconds. This was before patrol xp existed, so I had a nasty brown stain to get rid of on my xp bar. I thought about cashing things in, too. But then I said to myself, "Hey, I've only been playing for about 2 weeks, I still have 2 more weeks to go. I might as well get my moneys worth.
I kept paying and playing.
I'd suggest you try to get your moneys worth. Also try making a toon on a couple of different servers. I've always found Liberty, Infinity and Freedom to be pretty good.
I do know that Liberty will almost always have someone that knows the answer to any in-game question on the most popular server channel, LB.
