I changed my mind! I'm bringing my blaster. Will switch if I have to, but you guys will have to wait until I copy the macros over.

The time has been set for Monday, 5/7/12 at 9:30 pm Eastern in Dark Astoria.

Looking at the badge requirements for MoBAF:
Alarm Raiser Badge Never disable a Guard Tower using the controls at its base during a Behavioral Adjustment Facility Incarnate Trial.
Alarm Raiser is simple - simply don't click the glowie that turns off the turrets.
Gotta Keep 'Em Separated Badge Defeat Siege & Nightstar without moving them from their initial locations during a Behavioral Adjustment Facility Incarnate Trial.
This one is also simple - it just requires two strong teams instead of 1 strong league.
Not On My Watch Badge Allow no Mindwashed Prisoners to escape during a Behavioral Adjustment Facility Incarnate Trial.
Very easily done with a strong league - provided we have a mix of ATs and powersets. Choke Points will be used, and if necessary, blasters will chase down any runners that get through.
Strong & Pretty Badge Defeat Siege & Nightstar while none of their reinforcements are alive during a Behavioral Adjustment Facility Incarnate Trial.
This is probably the hardest one to get of the four. The team on adds must be monitoring the progress on the avs, and the teams on the AVs must be monitoring the progress on the adds. With the right collection of damage ATs on the "adds" team, this should be done without too much trouble. Because I am thinking that most of the hard core badgers have all but this one, our first attempt will be this badge, then "Keep 'em Seperated.
So, two seperate runs. -
Heya, Xolander.
Boy, did you mess up asking me to take a peek at this! The bad news is I have only just started to play the staff powerset, and it's on a scrapper, not a brute. And I've never played the super reflexes powerset beyond level 18 or so. Not sure why, it's a completely wonderful set.
Regardless, I saw that you were going for positional defense - which in many ways is vastly superior to typed, as it won't matter what's being thrown at you, toxic, psi, negative energy, you'll likely dodge it.
I could also see that you were pushing hard for more hp, regen - but I noticed that you had some powers that in my blissfully ignorant state seemed to be over slotted. My weakness is that I tend to get distracted and chase bonus sets. And, with converters, I don't really worry about the price at the market if I can't farm it or have it stashed in my base.
As far as I can tell, the only weak spot in the "tweaked" build I made for you was recharge is not very good, and of course, being a defense based toon, your resistance isn't good either. If something does hit you, you're going to feel it.
You'll see some folks say to not worry about iTrial numbers because you'll have buffs - and that may be true on some servers with full leagues, but I can tell you, even on full leagues, we don't always get the right buffs to help us out. So, I tried to get you to at least the soft cap for level 50 stuff, and hopefully, the AoEs won't hit you that hard.
Here's the build:
Code:Again, bear in mind, I've never played these powersets. (my stalker is only level 25 and only has a few attacks - so not sure how much recharge you need)| Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1556;699;1398;HEX;| |78DA7D935B4F134114C767BBBB949602E5D6722DBD80606B4BABBE9B28E0833441A| |A98786B1A98B6ABB56DBA258147BF8226FAEAF5D56FA27251F11B280AE8AB0FA69E| |EEF9533669E226E5379C39E73F67FE3393DE9CF7BCBBFAF89250BAAE9472A699BD5| |CDBA84B3D9D2B186B82BE9E55A35292E57AF056D178646E3929346AA564D3B22465| |2253CFE5F3D945A350AC1BE5C2384FCDCBBC2C9B34B95195B5EC8ACC97E4A634856| |7B95229259664AE4AA96EEB9F4C55CAF56E6B78A2D17B92B52E6B66D1A88E2C548D| |B5C44259D60A5BD974CEACCBDA1677394CCDA4E8F73E24F0351CE2954A414D0CBF0| |6DF32B79BD30A7286142BE61804BDCC0F21A48886AEDC26CC6862F42E33720FBCCF| |9CB9C38C67993B0415FA2AF435E86BD0FF48FA3AF4F5038710139AE8F8C1F4FE64F| |A0E99A923F098B94B554ED6579D9D8AB566A706EACC1E27739BD671611D17F4DCD0| |73635D0F743D583F82F5F7A8AA8B6B45574C587DEF905E37C71A9FE86F2FF7A1F55| |E636FBDD86F3FF6DBFF57585A537F985FA8BE0FE7D3F7826BA65E826F989F697600| |FE0D406F107A83F0CF4FB76F08BD0DCD726F118AF9B94EF8431C73506C0479230DF| |A844A9131CED2C7C2ECD278000C318311F03C7774B629DBECBEB909743F01E70370| |3E00E7F769E549383E096743703A0AE7A370780E8ECFE1647CD45B987B53C2D08F4| |2FF2BE94E43773ACFBB3B53008BA0C19C79003E64BAC8F259383AFBDCC17B7A023E| |637A2827065F6237D9E573D7C10C88DA386AE3A8D5A8EF04F41338B1399C580A27B| |64FB3499C4432CE7D8D6BADD7DABC50743AD1B648B22D926A8B5C688B5C6C8B2C6A| |AD57DF583A1D0B819BB2ACB55EBC5070DB5D5E7AC9B8ED47EED6AB162AFAFF751AD| |3D555DE6707BCEB8177BE15E6283C0CDC601EDBF570837F9FC654155E07E175E829| |08CFBFF95A3B6C7CB78D0F6CE35DDB6BDDB3BF5CDBF8FFDF3FBBA10FBD| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
But, you can see that you can easily get soft cap in all three positions. And, if it weren't for trying to get you the AoE protection to soft cap levels, I could have easily gotten your melee and ranged to incarnate soft cap levels. At least, pretty darn close.
Other forum readers, like Nemu, are sheer geniuses with their combining of HOs and other sets to do amazing builds. If you're living right, one of them will truly shed some inspired genius on the potention of this toon you have. -
I can list times to do specific MoTrial runs until I'm blue in the face - but if the folks that want those badges can't be there, it's not going to do them much good.
For MoBAF, how's Monday at 8PM Eastern?
I'm almost directly speaking to Steele and AV here. You guys are long term vets, but when the issue dropped, for whatever the reason, you didn't get them with the rest of the hard core badging community. I can only assume this is because of limited playtime. When is good for you? -
Thanks for the list!
I forgot, my main also needs to tackle all the arch-heroes (as a villain) in Recluse's Victory. Times like now, I wish my badger were my ill/rad.
I think the first order of business will be blue side, as those are always easiest to form.
9 pm Eastern, Thursday Night, barring unforeseen circumstances,
MoKahn.
I don't need it, but can bring just about anything needed.
I don't have any specific requests, other than you try to come prepared with inspirations.
Will want a taunter, debuff, buff and damage (and stealth/tp ally) There is no assemble the team in Master of TF runs.
Plan on my bringing my ill/rad controller. -
Thanks all for coming out.
My base now has a beacon to all the zones. -
Ok, we have a good start on stuff to keep us busy.
I'll make a good effort starting next week to knock a few of these off the list.
And Nemu - it could be that it's all part of my master plan to trick you into letting someone else get all your GLORY! -
Quote:If they came out with a CoH2, I suspect they'd stop supporting this game. That would make me quit and not start the other one.If COH2 gets made and we cannot transfer over our current characters and their builds/IO's. Having to start from nothing for an updated game engine and graphics would seriously annoy me enough to just not play anymore.
Forced Teaming would make me quit.
Forced Soloing would make me quit a little later.
Raising the sub price might make me consider quitting, depending on how much they raised it, and what they offered in return for the higher price.
Excessive lag after I upgraded my computer recently would really tick me off and I'd play less and less. Ultra Mode or no mode.
LCMS messages would drive me nuts, too. It would depend on how frequent.
If the solo incarnate path doesn't increase it's rewards (particularly the iXP rate) I will probably just drop to premium until all of my toons are 50. -
I know it's a pain, but list which specific badges you need on the iTrials.
MoMoM - except for the nightmares, this can usually be done on one run. Instead of farming for them, I'll try to run them more often - the problem is when to run them so I'm not stepping on someone's toes. Additionally, for MoM, I feel quite justified in asking for +2 or higher, so that creates some problems for some people.
MoTPN- I have the notes for an MoTPN, just need to make them macros so I can remind myself what's to be done, as well as the rest of the league. I'll be running this more often before I lead an MO effort, though.
MoDD-There seems to be no problems catching this with @dragynslayer, or even @Energizing Ion - they run MoDD frequently.
MoUGT- I do these every Sunday. I had stepped back and let @nights blood run them, but haven't seen him on in a month, so I stepped forward again. Liberty is getting into a nice groove running these, and running them well.
MoLambda -I got these when they first came out, so I'll have to refresh my memory on how to get each one you may need, but let's see what's needed first. Which badges do you need?
MoKeyes - Thanks to @wulfrich and @Xtreme Raze and @Letroy and several other key players, after many, many tries, the avoids the green stuff happened for my main. Maybe if we talk anime', wulfie will run some more of these.
MoBAF - see my words on MoLambda - Keep 'em Seperated isn't too bad, Strong and Pretty seems to be the toughest one, but we should be able to get this if we try.
The MoTFS - a good bit depend on team buffs and debuffs and having some experienced players knowing what to do. The Paragon City Saints have taken me on Speed TF runs without any defeats- but the only thing was they didn't have MO designated up front, so no badge was awarded. (and who needs assemble the team on itf?)
Who else has goals for their toons? (besides the obvious XP and incarnate salvage reward tables) -
Greetings, Liberty!
So, it occurs to me that there are many of us that have goals in mind with our characters. Me, I like to have the major accolades on my toons, and eventually 4-tier the alpha, Destiny, Lore, Judgement and Interface slots - in that order.
Sometimes, because of time limitations, or different options, a character or two doesnt' meet all the objectives we had in mind for them. (yet)
So, I'm asking here, what are your number 1 and 2 priorities for your favorite character? I often don't enjoy teaming with a regular mission, but more prefer the trial and taskforce experiences. But, if it'll help you get something done, I'd like to help, if I could.
I have my main, Ukase Rex that still needs MoLRSF and Master of 5th Column strikeforce. (those and a couple more redside day jobs and the morality badges for going full circle)
Aside from that, I have a number of toons that need the croatoa defeats and the katie tf for the Geas accolade.
Other than that, there are some toons that need some iTrials and the incarnate salvage components, but that will come over time, just like xp will. It's easy enough to get, just takes time.
What can I do that will help you guys get what you want done the most?
(sorry, no inf for you! I'm making a stalker for pvp and that's gonna probably clear my e-mail out) -
Thanks, Amygdala!
Now the real journey begins.... -
Thanks to Citizen Razor, Texican, Invidia, Heavenly Perverse, Evilheart Redux and a host of others who helped the redside get the new shiny.

Quote:I think this would be fine, and not that hard to do. As long as there is a confirmation message, I wouldn't want to promote or demote the wrong character by mistake.Promote/Demote offline characters- a much needed feature to allow easy roster configurations when dealing with players across multiple time zones. This feature would also come in handy when a retooling of an inactive roster is in order (kicking/removing characters shouldnt be the only resolution). Also its not always practical to assume existing officers can make the time to be available to promote new members into appropriate roster spots; this feature would add some much needed flexibility.
Quote:Email Utilization- A more traditional email system incorporating the ability to cc other players and/or group categories to send out mass emails to SG mates and potential recruits. This would be a luxury considering many players frequent City of Heroes much more than their respective SG websites. The cc feature would also allow streamline communication between officers of spinoff and coalition groups. The option to send ingame emails to a character rather than their global handle would be handy as well.
Quote:Base Designer specialty title/rank- Current settings allow for all who share a particular rank the ability to alter the base, which can lead to the problem of too many chefs in the kitchen syndrome at times. Having a singular title would eliminate potential drama and also allow SGs to hire outside base designers without having to worry about potential conflicts disturbing team chemistry.
Quote:Supergroup Message of the Day Pop-up Feature The current MOTD feature is under used and adding a pop up feature that could bring more attention to group event and activities similar to how we receive alerts ingame for game updates and bugs. To add a bit of uniqueness, this feature could allow for color palette and team logo options as part of the message. The Pop up feature could also incorporate reminder capabilities that can be switched on and off or delayed (think MS Outlook). -
For me, it's not limited play time, but making the most of the time I do have. For example, say I needed to respec a toon - why would I run that blue side time sink today, when I could run it tomorrow for twice the rewards?
Thanks to all who took the time to reply. -
Thanks to all of you. It would never occur to me to look in the lfg, despite someone telling me about that the last time they didn't have it posted when I was looking for it. Thought I was just getting older, but I guess I'm just getting old.
-
If any of you who get the newsletter would be so kind as to share what it will be, I'd appreciate it. Despite my best efforts to get it, I never do.
-
Quote:Well, sir, that I can get on board with.My point was that I think they need to work harder to avoid getting into that position with items they sell for extra. They'll never make everyone happy when they make changes like this once they get into the position of needing to change them. But I think they could have avoided getting into this position with SBE procs to start with by listening to feedback given about the strength of these items in beta. If there had been no one expressing concern about them, that would be one thing, but a decent number of people did.

Quote:I guess I'm the polar opposite. (I don't see that as bad or good, it just is what it is)While I tend to side with the developers on this in principal, I agree with what I think is the spirit here, at least in the sense that it feels like they rammed these things into production. They worked technically - they didn't crash the servers or one-shot Hamidon or anything like that. But they don't really seem to have a strong feel for their place in the game's balance at the point where they went live. When you do that with something you're selling for extra, that's just asking for unhappy customers.
I read your analogy, but even though I "see" it, it boils down to this:
Some players bought the SBE expecting X, where X equaled what was in game. What they got, was X+y. A lot of people that got X+y didn't even know they got the +y. However, at least one person did (the OP) and those that saw what was going on felt it was an issue. (and obviously, for some, it is.)
Then, instead of X+y, they got X-y.
I'll be the first to admit that I sent a petition and asked them to take the few I bought back and give me my points back - for all the good that did. It just reeked of something improper. To sell me X+y, and then make it X-y, well that's just not good.
However, when it comes right down to it - at least for my characters that have X-y slotted, I can't tell the difference. As far as I'm concerned now, y is roughly equal to zero.
I got X, and that's good enough. It'll have to be. The only other option is to rage quit.
Obviously, it was a mistake that X+y went live. They missed it. Things happen.
There were probably a number of things they could have done, but in the end, there was nothing they could do to make everyone happy. -

Who: Everyone who wants to come!
What: Mothership Raid
Where: Forming up at the base near the Point Du Hoc neighborhood marker. (if you don't know where that is, and you're maps fogged over - see if you can find the humongous mothership and jump on the shield for a free tp!)
Why: You'll have your own reasons, I'm sure. Me, primarily, all those Elite Bosses drop shards a good bit. So, I'm wanting to do this for shards, and -
my base needs the exploration badge in the bowl to get the tp beacon for my sg.
How: We'll be using the league format, and, of course, it will depend on how many level 50's show up. I'll arrive at 20 minutes prior to start time to form up. That's 7:40 PM eastern for those that hated math as much as I did.
Please note the date. And, though some of you may have never heard of me, I'm no stranger to leading msrs -despite being stranger than most. -
I think I was remiss in thanking those that teamed with Zorba, my fire tank. Though I've got him built up pretty well, I know from experience that tanking Recluse without sufficient buffs is foolish. I was assured by @amygdala that there was nothing to worry about - and she was right.
Since I was rude last night by not telling you, if no one else tells you, y'all did a swell job. -
Quote:To the OP - My profuse apologies! I am afraid I missed that part about you "being able to play for free".One thing about Ukaserex's recommendation about using hero merits- they are available via the Alignment system. So to use them, you will either need to buy the alignment system in the Paragon Market, or find a new/unused box copy of going rogue and add it to your account.
Thanks to Rajani for the correction. I'm afraid I didn't give my response to your thread the right amount of time it deserved.
Again, sorry. Discount everything I wrote. -
Here's my build.
Scratch that. I'm not even going to post it. With 4.5 million inf, you would be hard pressed to even buy generic IOs for your character.
You're going to have to slot SOs, as they are the only thing you can afford at the moment.
With that in mind, no sense in me posting my build until you have about 200 million. You'll likely need at least 25 million if you plan to buy crafted IOs.
Don't despair, though. A lot of people have been where you are, returning to the game with an inf shortage. I only had 23 million in inf when I first came back, now I've got billions. Just takes a little time, and a good bit of planning. (and some love from the rng probably helps more than anything. )
For now - keep the SOs you have in your build. Team up as often as you can. All your generic recipes that drop - and the salvage you get to craft them - don't. Sell your generic recipes. Many of them will provide more inf than the cost of purchasing the crafted IO enhancement.
Take a moment and look at the market. Scope out the recipes for IOs that you think you will need for your next build. Rome wasn't built in a day, and unless someone gifts you with a billion or so, nor is your blaster.
For starters, pretty sure you will want 5 LotG 7.5% global recharges. They will fit in powers your fire blaster will want to have.
1 in Combat Jumping
#2 in Weave
#3 in Maneuvers
#4 in Frozen Armor (or Scorpion Shield if you go redside for patron pools)
#5 in Vengeance
This means you're going to want to first - do ten hero tips and the hero morality mission, and then do SSA's for the hero merit option. Keep a record of the date and time, and after a week, repeat your favorite one.
Do more hero tips.
With the hero merits, you can buy enhancement converters, and you can convert Crafted Red Fortune enhancements to Luck of the Gambler enhancements. You may get lucky and get an LotG. If you get something else, sell it. It will sell for more than a red fortune. Sooner or later, the rng will show you some love. Converting from the same set is a 1 in 6 shot - at 3 converters a go, I don't like those odds.
That's a lot of terminology to throw at you. Take some time and look at the market forums for further illumination. I don't have time to be more clear. Sadly, the above process seems daunting to most - if so, I hope you get some love from the rng, or your sg buddies. If you're still looking for friends, hope you find some.
Bah, I have to go.
