Rikti Mothership Raid Update: 03-12-2011

Heya --

Despite the absence of Earthclan Elite's leaders Doc Vivian & Kinimp due to prior commitments, an overwhelming number of heroes still showed up wanting to take the fight to the Rikti. The call went out, "is there any EE here?" and shortly thereafter another two back-to-back Mothership Raids kicked off tonight in the RWZ!

Shards and Vanguard Merits flowed freely as Rikti were pulled in from all three sides and conquered time and again by Guardian's mightiest heroes! Thank you to all the team leaders and members, and a special thanks to EE members Archemorus, Agent Gun, and Marty Gras (apologies if I missed anyone else) who assisted me in my first time leading the raid.

OK, I just felt that I had to add my voice to the exemplaring thing.

First of all, wasn't the Weekly Strike Target designed with end-game content in mind for incarnates?

I quote: "Our commitment to content keeps coming: the Issue 19: Strike Pack update is now LIVE! This update brings players ever-closer to tapping the power of their inner Incarnate with two major new features: the Weekly Strike Target, and the Rare and Very Rare Alpha Slot Abilities!"

This definitely sounds to me like the Weekly Strike Target was set up mostly for incarnates to play/look forward to.

That being said...what the heck are we doing any Weekly Strike Target TF that is not going to award us shard drops? What is the point? To get one Notice of the Well - and that's it!? Ridiculous I say. I have no intention of running this week's Strike Target TF (Sister Psyche) or any other lowb weekly strike target TF more than once per character of choice because it is simply a waste of time otherwise.

Let's examine the Weekly Strike Targets: (I'm only going to reference blue-side)

February 1st to February 7th - The Statesman Task Force - lvl range 45-50 - I, and many members of my sg, must have run this TF at least 10 times or more during the course of the week! + Shards! Incarnate Components! Merit Rewards! Rare Recipe drops! Yummy incarnate goodness!

February 8th to February 14th - Return of he Reichsman from Dr. Kahn - lvl range 45-50 - I, and many members of my sg, must have run this TF at least 10 times or more during the course of the week! + Shards! Incarnate Components! Merit Rewards! Rare Recipe drops! Yummy incarnate goodness!

February 15th to February 21st - The Lady Grey Task Force - lvl range 45-50 - I, and many members of my sg, must have run this TF at least 10 times or more during the course of the week! + Shards! Incarnate Components! Merit Rewards! Rare Recipe drops! Yummy incarnate goodness!

February 22nd to February 28th - Clamor and Destruction - lvl range 20-25 - uuuhhh, what?! Let's just call this what it is, not a WTF aka weekly task force for Incarnates at all, more like a WTF?! aka what the f***?! strike target. :P

March 1st to March 7th - Alpha Strike from Apex - lvl range 50 - I don't remember how many times I, and members of my sg, ran this TF when Alpha first came out, but... + Shards! Incarnate Components! Merit Rewards! Rare Recipe drops! Yummy incarnate goodness!

March 8th to March 14 - Soul of the Woodsman from Numina in Founders' Falls - lvl range 35-40 - yay, another WTF?! strike target. :P

March 15th to March 21st - Time's Arrow aka ITF - lvl range 35-50 - by far my favorite TF ever, cannot begin to count the number of times I've run this and loved it every time! When I need 6-8 shards, I run an ITF and voila! Yummy incarnate goodness.

March 22nd to March 28th - The Praetorian Offensive from Tin Mage Mark II - lvl range 50 - once again, yummy incarnate goodness.

March 29th to April 4th - Following Countess Crey from Manticore - lvl range 30-35 - yay, another WTF?! strike target. :P

There are more than enough lvl 45-50 TF's available to not have to include lowb TF's as weekly strike targets. BUT, since they appear to be scheduled regardless, can we at least get an additional reward of 3-5 shard drops for completing the damned things? Seriously, please!

Not bad at all, but where's the darned free character server transfers at?

WOW! What an awesomely cool veteran reward for being a loyal player for 7 years! An account unlock of the hardest costume set to earn in-game! Fantastic veteran reward, thank you so much!

Umm, wait a sec...what?! It's for anyone who stays active for a couple of months?! Pfff, great, now every noob-a$$ed lowb is gonna have it. Nice.

Indeed, Atlas Park will probably spawn another instance due to capacity issues, but the event will only be in Atlas Park 1, s'why everyone needs to be there early!

As to the possibility of EE sending reps to other instances, that would really be difficult to coordinate as most of EE will be in AP1 helping to run the event, but Doc Vivian would have the final say on that issue.

Forget the 78 month vet reward, that's ancient history now.

I'd like to know what the plans are for the 81 month vet reward!

How does one get an invite for the Guardian and Level 50 channels? Who do I need to contact?

Never mind the free respecs when's the next free character server transfers going to happen?

With all the changes in-game thanks to the Incarnate system breathing new life into retired 50's, I know I have several I'd love to transfer to the servers I'm now most active on.

Just wondering if there's a global Hami channel? Or if there is going to be a regular schedule for the Hami Raids? Last one (which, btw was my very first one) was amazing, so I'd hate to miss any of them.

OK, this power means nothing to my 12 level 50s (2/3rds of which I play regularly). And just to clarify, it does not give influence instead when used by a lvl 50.

The only characters this would really mean anything to are those under lvl 50.

Is it bugged? No. The power works properly.

Is it a level up button? No, absolutely not.

One use (rchg of 2 hrs) gives 5 bars of patrol xp, NOT xp. In other words you get the blued background for 5 bubs, the same as you get "for every 24 hours a character spends logged out, they accumulate 1 bar of Patrol XP, with a maximum of 10 bars."

"Patrol XP is a bonus 50% experience for any critter defeats. While credit remains, any XP earned by a character due to defeating critters is multiplied by 150%, the extra 50% of which is deducted from Patrol XP accumulation. When all Patrol XP has been worked off, the character's rate of earning XP will return to normal. Patrol XP is not applied to the bonus XP gained from other sources such as mission completion, Story Arc/Task Force completion or Exploration Badges."

Overall, it's an OK power, nothing spectacular. I so rarely play my alts that when I do log onto one they're already maxed out for Patrol xp anyways.

When will this power be handy? For me, really only when they release another new power set I'd be interested in leveling up.

My overall rating of this "free" power as a veteran reward for playing 6 1/2 yrs is 3 out of 5, but hey, it's free so really, YAY!

But, I don't know any 6+ year vets that don't have at least a couple lvl 50s, so would have rather seen it instantly fill/convert our inspiration trays with/to all large size insps,
or, at the least when used by a level 50, instantly apply that same spread of insps you get when you level up for real. Then it would have been kind of a cool "holy $h*t!" button. LOL

Just my 2.5 cents worth. <--- Canadian, eh!

I hit 75 months on Aug 3rd *woot* prestige? *blech*

After playing this game for over 6 years now, in my opinion, EVERY veteran reward 3 month period should, at the least, have unique costume piece unlocks as part of a themed costume set/series (like Valkyrie) over each twelve month period. Example:

3 months - chest & legs
6 months - gloves, belt and boots
9 months - head/helmet
12 months - back (cape, wings, etc) + aura

Just a thought.

I'm just wondering if we're going to be lucky enough to get the ability to customize our characters to the same extent as in NCSoft's AION? Good gawd they have a lot of options that they can choose to morph individually, so why can't we?

I've also seen screenshots of the incredible variety of character designs/looks/sizes/morphs that Champions Online can create, so I'm thinking it might be a lucrative idea to look at additional morph customizations for CoH to not only help keep existing players, but to also attract more new players (though judging how good the CoH staff have become, they're probably already on top of this).

Well, as a fiasco follow up, turns out I absolutely love this new booster (thank gawd). At first I was a little meh as to its content when first hyped before made available, but thankfully it turned out to be awezoom. Great job!

Finally got to the credit card info page, and wouldn't you know it, the image over field where you fill in the numbers/letters for verification didn't load, so I couldn't verfiy anything. Tried to reload the page and crashed out AGAIN! SO. MUCH. FUN.

So, I've been trying for over an hour to buy this booster (and I have 2 accounts to buy it for) and have still had ZERO luck getting past the Buy Now page without crashing out. Ridiculous.

Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with not yet receiving their 51 month vet reward? According to my NCSOFT account, I should have gotten it around the 2nd of August. Is this a bug issue?
