I know your busy, but when you can...
Arc Name: Magic, Mystery, and Mayhem
Arc ID: 5299
Faction: Heroic; Custom (With CoT splash in one Mission) Villains and Ally
Length: 4 Missions, All on Small to Medium maps
Creator Global/Forum Name: @travlr / MrTymer
Difficulty Level: Medium, I'd say. Some amount of Mezz. 2 'Boss' and 1 EB in Missions 3 & 4. Soloable for most ATs, though I'd pack a extra BF or two...
Synopsis:
You would think being a hero in Paragon City would prepare you for all sorts of Criminals. But robbers dreesed like they belong in a Magic Show? Seems that the Midnighters don't think it's so entertaining. Think you have what it takes to match wits with The Mystery Magician?
Estimated Time to Play: I'd say about a hour
Link to More Details or Feedback:

This is a new posting for a Arc I had on test.
Faction: Heroic; Custom Enemies
Difficulty Level: I would say medium. Fair amount of psi/mezz stuff. 2 'Boss', 1 EB in missions 3 and 4. Soloable for most ATs, I believe.

Estimated Time to Play: maybe an hour, hadn't timed it yet.
Link to More Details or Feedback: Link to the thread I have in this Forum to discuss this arc. I'm looking for feedback on...
1) Lower level characters running this.
2) Groups of 3 or 4+ running this. I'm not 100% sure how the regular bosses are going to affect mission play.
3) any typos I may of made.
4) Overall playability
5) Is the main Custom Group interesting?

And I love that she thinks bears are more dangerous than CoT....
*imagines Sister Flame on a CoT mission*
Sister Flame: "Aw man, this is the twenty-sixth cave I've checked and no bears?"
Death Mage: "Foolish hero, how dare you interrupt this all-important ritual-"
Sister Flame: "Hey, did this ritual thing of yours chase out all the bears? Bears need a home too, you know! You Circle of Thorns can't have ALL the caves!"
Death Mage: "... what?!"
Sister Flame: "OUT OUT OUT! I WANT TO FIGHT BEARS!"

That seriously got me ROTL !!!
Good one Michelle, good one!!!

Didn't you read the disclaimer at the end?
Awesome.

But that's besides the point!
Who wouldn't want that now just for the <bleep> and giggles of it.
And to quote from my reply on youtube...

So our hreo's the Al Bundy of CoX...
Not a bad ad. Better than the I13 trailer NC Norcal did...

I'm not quite sure if this is considered a bug, but This is weird...
(NOTE: I haven't read through the thread before posting...)
Server: Triumph
Zone: Port Oaks/Mercy
Character name: Mr Johnny D & Lil the Moll
Time: about 9:30 - 11:15 PM CST
Location: finishing Paper Missions for Atlas Mayhem and zoning back to PO from Mercy...
Mission: see Bug Description
Mission Contact: see Bug Description
Bug Description: When my GF & I logged this pair of Level Packed Characters (Both Thug/PD MMs) a few days ago, they were at Level 5 and and XP turned off and the 1st Paper mission done.
Finished Paper mission #2 and headed to the Door of Paper #3 (Lil's mission). I think we had maybe 2 or 3 bars of patrol XP and one Bar of regular XP. We decided to turn XP back on and then Enter the mission. I kinda noticed that the patrol XP seemed to go away just before I entered the mission. After zoning into the mission we had both been Leveled up to 7! We then turned XP back off, Finished the Paper, Atlas Mayhem, and the rest of Mongoose's Story Arc with XP off.
Before I Zoned from Mercy to PO, I had turned XP back on (We decided to run our 1st PO Contact with XP on as much as we could) and had about 3 bars into 7. Upon zoning back into PO, I Leveled to 8! My GF had XP off going back into PO. She turned XP back on, but didn't ding. It took her to zone from PO to Mercy (Both of us still at the PO Dock) to Level to 8.
We had created a simular pair on Test during Open Beta and had noticed occasionally leveling upon exiting a mission. We figured it must of been from rewards generated from a Co-Op finish. But what had happened tonight was just plain weird.

I did watch through it 'till the end...
It was different, that's for sure. I'm just not sure it was a good thing.
The 4th wall idea just... didn't work for me. Heck, Dark_Respite's I13 Full Trailer was better than that.
Win some, Loose some.

Midnighter hero arc - Lady Gray (the rabid pistol scrapper) does the same thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
LOL on the Lady's tactics....
I can't really say what it is about her AI, but she has a real bad habit of 'scrapper-locking' at the wrong target at the wrong time. Also she has better perception than most players. She'll chase spirits that have hidden themselves to the players.
[ QUOTE ]
Faultline arc - the rabid superstrength tanker does the same thing.
It's to the point where I expect those missions to fail, now.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh please, be nice to the good Doctor. She isn't as rabid as Lady Grey.

OMG!! The Toupee!!!
Did he steal Shatner's??
Good strip Clawkitty. Just the 'you have to be kidding me' look in panel two is worth it.

The first set was ok, maybe a little too long to get the punchline.
I like the second. One paladin is a problem... but three... yea, I can relate.

Good one there...
I'm not actually surprised that was taken from a RL thing. The advent of the modern retail consumer...
Keep it up.
Thank you for the time... -
I saw it, and started to giggle...
Please continue on with this project. Having worked in retail as well, I would really like to see how you balance both sides of this.
Thank you for the time...
EDIT: Oh yea, forgot...

For me, the 51 month is interesting (around Holloween of '10 for that), but the 54 month seems better (Jan. of '11 for that) IMO. Most likely any new characters will roll w/Sands and both wands, reguardless of Origin.

In this case, the heck w/Immersion. This would be considered a player-related thing, shesh....
As far as to what's been presented...
I like #3, #6 or #10 personally. These seem reasonable clean to readable. I also didn't really care for Echonis' ad attempt. It just seems too busy.

While I do like the added villain groups to the hollows, I also feel that those groups are over done a bit in Cherry Hills.
What I mean is, take Wincott's first two missions for instance, now instead of finding Trolls when I'm looking for Outcasts, or vice-versa, I'm finding everything but Outcasts and Trolls. I've had, in some cases, to go almost to Flux just to find some Outcasts or Trolls for those hunts. It's nice to see Hellions, Lost, and Skulls in the Hollows now, but there's just a little too much of them.
Otherwise, I've got no real complaints about the revamp so far.

Did a quick check earlier today. Had the two, plus one for being over a year playing, showing. Managed to get those slotted to three different servers (two of which were full, thanks for getting that bug fixed...) without any real trouble. I'll have to set some cash aside to slot up a few more.

I've looked on and off since this thread was restarted (as to why, dear gawd knows...), and I've found the attitude of those who want another purge quite disgusting.
There are a number of reasons given to respect what those with inactive accounts have done. So those who have been gone for a long time may have a bit of a time getting used to who the game plays now, So what? I know of a friend of mine who's getting back into EQ after several years away from the game. I can't say what EQ's name policies are, but if this friend does have their actual character names from when they stopped playing, I'd say that's good customer service. I would tend to think the policies, as far as name purges go, are with this kind of thing in mind.
I can also think of one other reason, it may not be the best of a reason, but it's also a valid one: What about all of those junk RMT names? Yea, accounts get locked/banned, but would you honestly want RMTers to get access to more of those kind of junk names? Please....
In closing, it sucks when I can't get a name I want for a character. So I try and get a little creative. In most cases, what I come up with still works. It's not worth the aggravation, and in some cases futility, to actively try and get the name from whoever has it. Enjoy the game for what it is.

I'm glad to hear she enjoyed that _Wyll_. It gives even us older players a warm feeling inside. And no, I'm not looking for War Witch to meet up w/every player. I've just found the experiences that you and Sister Flame have had an uplifting thing for my own peace of mind.
And as I mentioned before, if your looking to play on Liberty, Justice, or Pinnacle, The SGs my GF and I run have open invitations to you both (especially on Justice, I think one of our collectors have something like 40 wakes in it...).

I'll add this to the other CoX stuff in Flame's box such as a Ghost Widow heroclix, a CoV DVD and some special comics that War Witch sent her (they had to go to school for show and tell). I also put a screen shot of her toon in a folder in her box too.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well in the Massively article about War Witch being in England over easter weekend, it mentions War Witch ran with Sister Flame a while back. I was just wondering how much fun Sister Flame had running w/one of the Devs?
Thank you for the time... -
I have to admit, I thought the OP was just great! Though my GF and I usually refer to Clockworks as 'tic-toks' and Vhazs as 'bugs'...
Plus, if you or Sister Flame want to play on Liberty (Hero), Justice (either), or Pinnicale (Hero), global my self @Travlr or my GF @Kiriko-Chan . We have standing SG slots open for either or both of you. I think it would be a blast to play with either of you.
Though the OP kinda reminds me of something that happened when my GF & I stayed with some friends and their kids at a con last november...
First I need to set up some details...
1) The couple's youngest (8 going on 9, IIRC...) is a high-functioning autistic boy. Nice kid, and is some-what computer savy, ie he was able to Google at about 2 1/2.
2) Because of said child's tendencies to roam, our firends usually get a suite to keep him reigned in (thoughts of the fire alarm drill he inadvertingly caused a couple of years ago at that hotel come to mind...). They also have a number of other minors [/i](Their two teenage daughters and friends)[/i] in attendance. So they really need the room...
3) My GF & I had given a copy of GvE to this couple last march, and IIRC, the eldest daughter did play for a while. So the family has been exposed to the CoX world.
Now then....
My GF & I have a small, protable gaming rig to bring with us to Cons and the like. And of course we brought along to this one. We had it up and running in the 'common room' part of the suite (where we also had our crash space... there was a queen roll-away that was left from the suties pervious users...) and net connected. Now the couple and a number of the kinds knew we had the rig up and running, not the youngest one though. He would soon enough...
Now said autistic child has this habit of waking early (i.e. 5AM-ish) and bang closet doors and the like in the 'common room'. Yea, I think everyone can see where this might be going... I think I'm somewhat greatful he did discover the rig. I had the CoH login screen up and started to show one of the other kids the game on Saturday afternoon, I logged the autisic child into one of my toons, a Energy/Ice Blaster called Cryo Blast I have on Justice. Now this is one of the times, I'm gald for the 'ghosting' that can sometimes happen in game. I showed the little one some of the basic moving around and that the toon could fly. That, I think, he got the best enjoyment out of and it kept him entertained for some time.
Fast-forward to the next morning,,, my GF hears "City of Heroes, City of Heroes" as the little guy is trying to log into my CoX account. She nudges me awake, so I logged him back in to the same character, hoping for another 'ghosting', so that my GF & I could get a couple of more hours of sleep...but alas I was mistaken. I was nuged either by my GF, some sounds comming from the game, or from him, not quite sure which, but came to the realization that he got himself killed and used the Base's medical instead of the hospital. Under most conditions, I wouldn't of been overly worried, but Cryo has base editing rights in the SG! And he figured out how to access the base editor. Thankfully, he only removed a couple of flooring pieces and not anything important.
Now the copule was glad I did bring the rig and was able to entertain their youngest. All I'm gonna have to do in the future, is make sure I let him use characters that don't have base edit rights...

Scary or Shocking? Not for my girls. Some little ones may be afraid by some of of the mobs, but Flame just groans at the "puking zombies" cause they dish out some nasty damage and she finds the Freaks funny.

If she thinks Freakshow are funny, she's going to love this fan video: Thank You. (Looks good at full screen size.)
Totally kid safe. She'll probably torment you by making you play it again and again.
Then she'll want to know how to do all those emotes.

OMG!! I've seen this one on YouTube bookmarked it even and still get a laugh out of it every time. Now I have a copy of my very own. Thanks Zombie_Man!
