  1. I'm surprised no one chatted about the ep from two weeks ago though.
Granted, I haven't sat through all of that one. Then again, Wally tends to grate my nerves a lot and considering what a idiot he was in that ep... Sheesh. I'm surprised I made it to the 1/2 way point in the ep.

    Thank you for the time...

Yes, they want a way to unlock incarnate powers without raiding, but that's because they don't want to raid. There's more to that than just wanting the rewards for nothing. Give them something new other than raiding to do that gives reward rates that aren't measured on geologic time scales and I bet almost all of the complaints will disappear.

I am looking forward to raids, but I would love to see something else to do with incarnate stuff, and not next year.
The bolded part is the crux of the Solo/Small team desires. Even myself, who has no Live 50s, can understand that.

There should be eventual Incarnate content that solo or small group players can do and progress through the Incarnate unlocks. The issue isn't about getting the unlocks for nothing, it's about getting them at a rate that is reasonable for non-large team/raiding play.

  3. Just went through this on one computer. Gawd... I totally forgot that I had answered Security Qs when I first set up my NCSoft account nearly 5 yrs ago.

Thankfully, they were Qs I could easily remember. As to what they are, one could be easy to crack, the other isn't as easy to know unless you knew me and my habits rather well.

So I should be good when accessing it from at least one computer. Still have to try one other Computer to see if I have to go through security hoops on it.

    Thank you for the time...

In one respect, Michelle. But come on, you know you want to film on the new ship city. Don't you?

My only previous experience w/the NCSoft Launcher was for Exteel. At that time, I wasn't entirely happy with the launcher.

So what kind of Game and Account services are gonna happen that require us to use this thing over the current launcher? I would hope this is a question that can be reasonably answered.

And no, I'm not jumping on je-saist's bandwagon here. I just flat out didn't care for the NCSoft launcher.

  6. Commentary at this time is based on the following:

    Intel Core2Duo E6600 w/2GB Ram
    Win XP Pro SP3
NVidia GeForce GTS 450 w/266.58 Drivers
    Main City install only

    Objective:
Download and Installation of NCSoft Launcher went fine. Including the fact I did not install the launcher to the recommended location.

Upon first launch, noted the Main City Install and stated it was ready for play.

After following the instructions to set up the Test install, Test is D/Ling at about the pace I expected (snails pace, but my net connection isn't the greatest). I am doing this to see overall performance.

I was also able to set overall option to where I want them.

    Subjective:
It would be nice to see an actual display of download progress on the actual launcher. Having to Tool tip to see progress is rather annoying.

Is there a potential way to minimize what NCSoft games you do not have installed? At this time, I'm not really interested in purchasing any other NCSoft game and would not like to be reminded of any.

I had used a version of the installer when I was playing Exteel. I was not really happy with the launcher at that time. I am not overly thrilled I will be forced to use this launcher in the future for City.

As for right now, I'll see how it goes.

    Thank you for the time...

I think it was maybe the 5th or 6th ep in was Catwoman's intro, but I don't quite recall. She was a decent flip-side to Bats in that series.

I also should of been a little clearer in my previous comment. I like the take on Catwoman done in The Batman. I also like the origin take done of Clayface as well. The few eps featuring Clayface after the origin though...

The only good thing about Mr Freeze in The Batman was that he was voiced by Clancy Brown, IIRC. Beyond that, yea, nearly all of the Villain takes in that show weren't the best. Well except for maybe Catwoman and Clayface's origin...

I caught a part of the 2nd round of Day 1 of that tourny.

Watson was taking the gents to town big time. It just was wrong seeing it run the board.

The only game I've ever seen where he has given a really positive review to, is Portal. He even says in the review he likely will never give a game such a review. I can't wait to see his review for Portal 2.

He isn't really a game reviewer. He's more of a game satirist or comedian, he just does it in the form of pseudo-reviews. His goal is to make fun of every game, and he does it very well, he is very entertaining to listen to and the graphics are great, but he doesn't do objective balanced or even fair reviews in the slightest.

That said, I have yet to see a positive review (outside fan reviews) Of the game in question. I haven't played it yet, but given what I've read about it, I won't until they let me download the game and play it on a free trial without having to pay for any of it.
All I would say about it is something a friend of mine asked me about it...

(specifically relating to the PC version, not console)
Me: Do you have a gamepad controller?
    Friend: Yep.
Me: You'll enjoy it a lot better.

  12. Oh it's been a peach of a 24hrs...

Was without power for some 16 hours.
Seeing Drifts as high as 4ft around where I live.
Running extension cords all over the place from the portable generator to keep the Fridge and Freezer running.
Praying we don't loose power again over the next several days.
And the winds are kicking up again.

One final note. I'm gald I wasn't on Chicago's Lake Shore Drive last night. Also pleased that those who did get stuck in that mess are all ok.

    Thank you for the time...
  13. Oh it looks like sooo much fun out here. Near whiteout conditions right now.

Winds started kicking up about 1:30 ish CST. Snow started up shortly thereafter. Oh this is gonna be a fun one, that's for certain.

As I kinda mentioned upthread, in this case, We'll get a lot of snow, but it's the drifts. :::Shudders::: That's gonna be interesting to deal with.

    Thank you for the time...

True, but I think a little clarification is needed.

Yes, there is a Marvel Supers IP show on CN. Super Hero Squad.
This thread is discussing, in general, Avengers: EMH on Disney XD.

IIRC, SHS was in development well before the Great Mouse God bought Marvel. You could of also make the same arguments about Wolverine & the X-Men or the most recent FF Series on nicktoons before those series were dropped.

    Now then...

Of what I've seen of A:EMH, I like it. Solid story arcs, great action, and a solid (and classic) team roster. And through this series, I think, you're getting a solid of a overview of the what the Marvel Universe is at it's best. While I haven't picked up comics, per say, in nearly 15 years, I am quite pleased with this series.

    Thank you for the time...
  15. IL myself (About a hour S/SW of Chicago...). And out in the middle of farm land.

Just looking out the window. Snow's blowing and coming down. If we get what's being predicted, Not only the actual snow, but the drifts. Oh that's gonna be soo much fun. Winter of '79 anyone?

  17. I might as well update.
I've had zero luck trying to get my issues fixed.

I've uninstalled the Chipset drivers and video drivers. I've run Drive Sweeper and then reinstalled the drivers. Still no luck.

Only thing I've noticed is Drive Sweeper can't seem to remove two files tied to the Video Drivers, I think.

    nv4_disp.dll found in Windows\system32
nv4_mini (system file) found in Windows\system32\drivers

The problem is now even with the 258 series drivers. At this point, I'm looking at a OS reinstall. I'm not sure what else I can do.

Pretty sure Mononoke came out decades after Miyazaki began making movies. Just sayin'...
:::Looks at my Two-disc eidtion of NausicaƤ:::

Box shows the film's original release as 1984. So I would guess the producer ment NausicaƤ. I'll have to look at my copy of the 1st season to look at who did the animation. I know it was a asian company, just don't recall who at the moment.

Realize that G.I. Joe: Renegades is produced by the same people that did the MIB animated series (and wouldn't be surprised that the same animation house was used too...), there's enough similarities you can tell.

Now on to the topic at hand...

The Character Designs don't look too bad...
Well except for Lion-o, maybe. I keep expecting a Super Sayian glow coming off of him for some reason...
And Tygra using a gun, in addition to the whip.

What worries me is comments made by the series Producer. While partly quoted in the OP's link, here's what concerns me from the linked article...

But what about the whole "reimagining" thing? Jelenic agreed that the word "reimagining" could mean a lot of things, so he explained one specific change he's looking to make with the new series.

"One thing is that I tried to simplify the mythology a little bit," he said. "It's a pretty complicated backstory that borrows from a lot of other sci-fi stuff, like Superman and Star Wars. In developing this, I wanted it to be a little more simple. In the other version, there's something like three different planets involved, and they all converge onto one planet, and nobody's really connected. I just wanted to bring that all together."

Simplifying the Mythos?? Dear Gawd, as it was, it was reasonably simple at the start. It only got a bit convoluted after the other three and the Lunataics and New Thunderra got added into the mix. The Basic Mythos worked for what was going on. Heck, I was in the intended Demographic when the original series aired, and I understood it then!

I'll be willing to give it a chance, but I don't have high expectations for it.

    Thank you for the time...

Did you have any other graphics cards in this computer, say like a PCI card used for another monitor?

I have had other Graphics Cards in the rig, but never two in the rig at the same time.
In order from the beginning (This rig is about 3 & a 1/2 yrs old and updating the Graphics card has been fun...) :
    EVGA e-GeForce 7600GT (256MB) Lasted about a year, year & 1/4
    EVGA e-GeForce 8600GT (256MB) Lasted about a year, maybe year & 1/2
EVGA GeForce 9500GT (512MB) Current card before the 450. Still a good and functioning card. Intended to replace a 9400 in a secondary rig the GF & I share.
EVGA GeForce GTS450 (1GB) Recently purchased

The board is SLI capable, but I have not run it in SLI mode. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if it something MB related, though.
  21. Update:

Installed & Updated Drive Sweeper (2.8.5 version) ran it after doing the Driver uninstall. Then reinstalled the 260.89 set.

And I am right back to where I started!

My rig doesn't like Drive Sweeper either. Tried updating it after installing it and it errors out.

If nothing else, I might take what DS offers and then delete them manually, if I can.

Oh Father, thanks. Didn't know there was a update for Cohhelper.

    Thank you for the time...
  23. I have had an ongoing issue with the Nvidia 26X drivers since their release last year. At first, I thought it might be the interaction of the video card, the 26X drivers, and Ultra Mode. I have ruled out the video card (partly) and UM (partly) at this time.

Initially my current rig had a EVGA GeForce 9500GT and could handle UM ok. I started having issues when the first 26X drivers started to come out. With my normal settings installed, City would load to the splash screen and lock. If I tried to enter the game, via safe mode, I could not zone into Ouroborus, but I could zone into a blue side zone like Kings. Once in the game, any attempt to alter any actual graphics controls would lock the client. I could rollback to the 258.96 drivers and be able to play City with a couple of annoying issues of resetting a couple of settings, but I could actually play.

Now, I have upgraded the Video card to a EVGA GTS450. Upon doing a clean install (using the Nvidia driver's 'clean install' option) using the new 266.58 drivers, I am still getting the results mentioned above. I can access and play other games I have installed just fine. My issues seem to be City alone.

Hijack this and Coh Helper are inline. These were done after the client reinstall and attempting to enter the client through a non-oruro zone.

I would really like some help from the more tech-savvy forumites here. I still might try going back to the 260 Drivers (the minimum the 450 will accept), but I doubt that would make any difference.

Other thing of note is that I have a 500W Thermaltake PSU, but I believe I don't need to upgrade that.

    Thank you for the time...
  24. If it stays close to Crichton's story, I could maybe see a Westworld remake, maybe.

On general principles, I wouldn't want to see a remake of Oh, God. Now given the suggestion of Betty White in the Burns role? Maybe, but highly unlikely though...

    Thank you for the time...
