I know exactly which room it is. It's also used for Director 11's showdown. It has the same problem that the Praetorian labs did when they first came out; massive bloom. All that light just slows it down too much.

Quote:Yes, bought everything but afaik it was a freebie map not tied behind anything. Can you open that file up with notepad and locate the map name?
you should find a block of info that looks like this towards the top
MapName maps/Missions/CargoShip/CargoShip_Layout_03.txt
MapSet CargoShip
MapLength Small
Even if they moved the map it make make it easier for others to know what the game calls the map and not what its named as in the interface.
Also have you bought all the map packs from the AE store so far?
Anyway the mapname is:
MapName maps/Missions/unique/V_Grandville/MisdirectedPortal_Generic.txt
MapSet Unique
UniqueMapCategory "Dev Only"
As you can see it's an older file from March last year when it was available on test (under the special dev only category to help with testing). -
Going by the wiki it says it should be under Tech (I'm assuming Unique->Tech Lab) but I can't find it. I had an old save file in my cohtest directory but it was back when it was 'Dev Only'. So where is that ruined future?

Something that would most likely take a lot of work but I'll sound it out.
Something that occured to me when perusing the Praetorian badges was they had some rather good names that are forever denied to Praetorians and vice-versa.
An idea hit when I logged in my Vigilante, checking his progress on the Redside-only day jobs, and the hero equivalent of 'Smuggler' is 'Gunrunner' which sounds better suited for a villain/rogue.
As an aside' it would be nice if it could be applied to the Patron badges two-fold, by alignment and the patron themselves. -
Quote:Yep, couldn't agree with you more. It's a sub-option in Arena PvP and it took me a while to even figure out how to use it.I've only ever once messed about with them, when someone in an SG I was in wanted help getting the badges. Tell you the truth, I didn't even think of it "a system" within the game, just something sort of tossed in at random.
The fact it's tied in to PVP is probably the biggest hindrance it has, imho. PVP chases people off with the "everything you know is wrong" method of powers.
What it does remind me of is an old thought I had about how a Mind Troller worked when I first started way back in i3. My imagination conjured up the idea that using 'confuse' powers would allow me to control the enemy NPCs, recruiting them for use later. Of course I later found out that it meant I got to trick them into fighting their friends and the pipe-dream slipped away. Gladiators does exactly what I thought but doesn't allow me to participate in the actual fight.
If we can't improve the system itself then what about bringing it out and making it part of the game world? We have so many threats that you could use help for; it would be nice if you could use them as allies like a MM. Okay so we don't want to break the server by making it City of Masterminds but what if they were a team we could use to fight Rularuu or the next 'Coming Storm' that show up? Vanguard is willing to recruit from all sides, I'm sure there's a few who wouldn't want to see a Rularuu invasion succeed. -
Short Answer: PvP.
Long Answer: it's like playing a weaponless MM with no secondary. You have the vaguest control over a bunch of uncustomisable NPCs that have descriptions that make it sound like they'll be part of a proper "battle royalé".
Quote:If you had the chance to try to convince Positron or the other devs to try to resurrect the Gladiator system, what changes would you suggest they implement to make it more appealing?
There's plenty that could be done with it. Allowing players to be part of the battle for one, map objectives like they do with Recluse's Victory, there's been talk for years of PvP objectives where heroes and villains fight against one another; imagine a safeguard/mayhem crossover with players on both sides bringing their 'team' to fight with them.
The reason it 'died' was because it had two badges attached to it and nothing was ever added to it. Ever. But we've seen that even the oldest stuff can get better when some effort is put into it. Faultline was a desolate zone that was rarely visited except when you were forced to go there for another hunt mission. Now people CHOOSE to go there because it got revamped with new storylines and architecture.
And for those who say it's not worth saving; remember that things change and one day something you consider worth it may be 'left for dead'. Bases have had a few number changes but we're still working with the stock that came with launch. Six year old stock. Okay, it costs less than it did a few years ago but only a little has been added like the D's and RWZ beacons. And a brief pass of the Ultra Mode that may or may not be related to stock files anyway.
Gladiators could be great; if there's the (development) time. -
Basically what it sounds like although hopefully more succinct than the AE since.
There's a lot of arcs out there with some nasty E-Bs in them and quite often the only way to find that out without external site viewing is by coming face-to-face with them.
This might be fine if you've got a team together already but if you're solo; you're out of luck. You can't even get help that way because the Ouro uses TF-code so you can be exemp'd to the correct range. It would be nice, since the Menders are time-travellers, if there could be similar arc warnings about E-Bs appearances as they tend not to show up in the first mission with the exception of the Portal Corp Praetorian arcs. Then if you feel like soloing an arc but are worried about not having enough to beat a big boss; you can pick from the arcs without worrying you'll have to start over with another.
Two reasons for this; I've done a few arcs and faced E-Bs on later missions and had to give up because I was on my mind/ff troller and a friend did the Faultline arc where you face the 3 together at the end (the triple threat where they try to kill each other). -
That would explain the recent addition of the ToS to the game login on test.
I do hope it means updating the client lists as well (ie. server list merge) as that would give me another 12 slots for Union and 132 for each of my other accounts.
And altisis will claim us all again -
When he makes proper anthro parts; then I'll care.
And there's a fine line between 'cryptic' and 'waffle'. -
Quote:The combi-generator/table is a startup item and isn't counted as an energy item.do you still have the small combo generator? that counts as one.
Quote:Ive upgraded my plot to a large secure, made sure I had a large power room to support x 2 power generators. For the likes of me, It will not let me place anymore then 1. I have plenty of prestige and made sure I had enough room and plot size. Is this a known bug? Even if I placed another power room with a plot that supports x 2 it still is red and cant place.
Thanks, any info would help.
You need the energy station 3x3 or larger rooms to support two energy sources.
Now the far-reaching; you're not trying to place the startup combi generator again? You can only have one of these on any plot.
If none of that works; a screenshot or two could help us visualize the problem. -
Quote:Except for the fact they announced it after the event was over and for a whole month, not just two weeks.
If you need help with the hosting bill; you know you can just ask us, right?
Good news for me as it means I can gather some more canes and badges on the alts I'd declined to hunt with due to the time-constraint (and I was working on the advanced gold for my two main badgers which was annoying for my slow reflexes). -
Quote:Right at the start; there was problems with getting into Lord Winter's Realm as well as a couple of TF bugs.I wonder why this was extended?? Was there a hitch in the Winter Event? I dont really recall there really being any problems....
What's amazing is I called this this morning. I was running round Galaxy collecting presents and I said on a global channel "No doubt I'll finish collecting these presents and they'll announce an extension later". -
My guess would be the lack of a new Winter event badge (Festive is now the generic Winter Event badge). Every year I've had a toon active for got a new pair of the winter temps unless they still had it from the previous year. No new log-in badge this year means they have nothing new to say 'yes, give them winter temps'.

Quote:Just played with someone last night who had 84, but it's interesting to hear you can go beyond 100. Not sure why you'd want to stockpile so many, to be honest, but have at it.
Reason I think that is I don't know how the higher levels of the Alpha slot are going to work, let alone the other Incarnate slots, so I'm not going to stockpile... mostly working on getting Alpha powers for my favorite characters so they can get in on the new TFs, which I find fun and interesting.Quote:Accumulating shards is an inevitable consequence of playing level 50 content.
Oh and it's 9999. -
Quote:If a mission is flagged with 'Villain' or 'Hero'; it can't even be started even with the TF code. I tried with a Rogue leading a Hero and I couldn't select the task because 'Everyone on the team needs to be the same alignment'. I could use the crystal to teleport to contact which kicked my Hero out of Mercy and back to Atlas so there's one glitch in the system that needs to be worked out. This would allow co-op TFs for those contacts to be started. What happens when the team leader (Villain) drops out for some reason, and the people left are Heroes? They won't see the right contact to talk to, the'll see the hero version.
I'm sure it's possible to merge them, but there's a lot of stumbling blocks in the way. -
Quote:Following on from this; I brought a Rogue to my blueside base and they acted as their native alignment (which I had expected when testing with a villain). They weren't allowed to my hero team because they were treated as a villain, even inside my bluebase and appearing as an ally. However I took Rogue to a Hero zone, teamed up with my Hero and then took them both into the base. Already teamed, they were treated as Heroes and I was able to start a hero flashback (The fortune teller mission, a classic) and complete it.That's great news that the crystals already work to give the proper list of missions depending on alignment. The only thing they'd need to do for a combined Ouroboros would be to have two portal crystals. Heroes would be unable to use the Villain portal and vice versa while the vigilantes and rogues could use either one.
I'm assuming the same teaming restrictions in the current co-op zones would still apply in a co-op Ouroboros. Makes me wonder why they haven't done it already.
I took them to the same base, switched the team-leadership via promotion and tried to start the 'Earning Arachnos' Favor'. It loaded fine but it wouldn't select as it was tagged with the 'Villain' mission redtext. It couldn't be selected as the active task but I could use the crystal to Teleport-To-Contact which catapulted my hero back to Atlas. So one little glitch to worry about -
Quote:I have an in-game workaround for changing scales.Example; I was editing my Blaster the other day. The major tweaks were a few to the overall body structure and a lot of facial tweaking. The guy has all five costume slots, all of them filled. He has three where face is important. It was an almighty pain to transfer the scales of the corrected costume (#2) to the other two non-helmet slots (#3 and #4) because it involved saving the first file, then going to the second costume to edit and loading that, then resetting everything except the face. Now, that would be fine, but the reset buttons DON'T reset colour. So I had to ckeep flicking back and forth to make sure everything matched up as it should be.
Save a costume of the scales you want, switch to the slot you want to change the scales of, go into the 'load costume' part, select the 'new scales' outfit but don't load it just back out of the screen. The scales will adjust and you don't have to change or reset anything (unless you want to). This includes height on the surgeons. -
Well you can sort of do this already if you hide 'recipes missing ingredients' and 'unowned recipes' but the highlighting only comes in when you open the tabs since they're closed by default.
An extra layer of ready-to-craft indication would be a nice addition though. -
Quote:None at all. I have my personal blue and red bases coalitioned while that bug still existed and once inside a base you end up as a native alignmnet again. Villains/Rogues only see redside mission arcs and Heroes/Vigilantes see blueside mission arcs from the same crystal. I'd have to see about getting them teamed and trying to start a mission from either 'side'I really see no reason why there couldn't be ONE Ouroborus for both sides. Villains and Rogues would still only have access to Villian missions (since even the contacts a Rogue picks up doing Radio missions won't talk to them). Heroes and Vigilantes would only have access to Hero missions (Same thing) Heros would only have accesss to tp points in COH, Villains only access to ones in COV and Rogues/Vigilantes access to both. How much extra coding could that possible create?
-
It's a naming convention. Hamidon didn't get a fancy nickname, he's just the leader of the Devouring Earth. Unlike Cole who gets Statesman for the Primal version or Emperor Cole/Tyrant for the Praetorian version but he's still Marcus Cole under the pseudonym. He just doesn't have much imagination when it comes to disguise names.

Quote:Short answer; no.Greetings,
I now have an all year round toon that I want to play as my main toon. Mind you I've been playing said game for 15 months off and on! I have been fishing for a theme that might work for me and nothing seems more unique than an 'Evil Santa Lady'! Only problem is I can't permanently have a Snow Beast pet following me around! That would be awesome if I could get that! I can't forever have the snow ball throwing power, or the ring binding power. If I could have just those two abilities on this toon forever that would be great! Now since I won those gloves, hat, and boots they aren't going to vanish after the Holiday time of the game is over are they?
Long answer; since they are costume unlocks they are tied to your character, not the 'season'. No, they will remain available all year round.
Quote:I wish We could AT LEAST get the Santa Belt if not the whole coat. I'm going to get the magic pack too because I'm going to create a Witch toon to set myself up for next All Hallows Eve (a.k.a. Halloween).
With all that said what do you all think about Halloween and Xmas toons being rolled all year round? You think I'll get tired of my evil Santa Lady? I mean she does have super strength and invulnerability. Would love thoughts and opinions. I've even though of trying to create a Legion of Yule Time Evil Santa Women! -
There's quite a few shortfalls in present placement. I saw the one next to Nightstar and thought that's just asking for trouble. Not everyone wants to be Resistence to have the extra trainer location underground.
Another near IVy that meant I got faceplanted trying to talk to her and one tonight opposite Studio 55. Level 50 spawns with Winter Lord G.M. in the middle. -
Given that he is a peacebringer; it's an ironic fail
Funnily enough though, my Demon/Dark Praetorian just did a mission tonight where 'there was a psychic aura in here'. All you could tell visually was that someone had gone overboard with the purple smoke machine. It was presuming I had some kind of telepathic sense despite being all alone (even 'Mother' couldn't follow me).
Does remind of the 'sped-up world' thread started not too long ago.
