Ouroborus - For Rogues and Vigilantes

I agree that it would be nice to be able to choose both regions as exit points from Oro.

But I'm guessing that there were/are technical reasons they didn't add that option into the Oro. exit. (since they did add it to Pocket D and Vanguard)

I posted a reply to this thread since part of what he's asking for is Ouroboros to be friendlier for Rogues/Vigilantes.

Check out the Repeat Offenders network of SGs! You'll be glad you did.

Indeed, the very grey nature or Ouroborus would seem to fit Rogues & Vigilantes much better than pure Heroes or pure Villains. I would love to see it friendlier to R & V, both in terms of being a travel gateway and for missions devoted to the "Grey" alignments. . . (Red side, Blue side & Grey side!)

I'd love to see this as well but I'm not sure when or IF it will ever ocur. The PURISTS here on the forums will argue that the Ouroborus portal was never designed to be a travel gateway and its just a small benefit one earns when they have it. Yeah and I always wonder just how many of them don't use it almost daily when they are on line to get from one zone to another during a TF or when they want to get from PI to Talos quick to sell at Wentworths. I am a Rogue and just completed a Statesman TF earlier tonight. After we finished the mission in PI where you defeat Viridian, Regent Korol, Mu'Drakhan and Shadow Spider I used an Ouro Portal offered to me and then next thing i saw in Team chat was..

"Tessa the mission is in IP why are you in CAP?"

"Because I am a Rogue and I don't get IP as an option. I'm on my way and in the RWZ Now!"

Then of course there was the Kahn TF I did where I used the portal to get into the last mission after we completed the Get the Energy Sourse Mission in PI. That one did let me and two other rogues tp directly into the mission and then .. our pets attacked our team mates, their pets attacked us, and the debuffs from one of the Controllers were debuffing OUR attacks. I am still not sure they ever fixed that bug I have heard of it coming up again.

I really see no reason why there couldn't be ONE Ouroborus for both sides. Villains and Rogues would still only have access to Villian missions (since even the contacts a Rogue picks up doing Radio missions won't talk to them). Heroes and Vigilantes would only have access to Hero missions (Same thing) Heros would only have accesss to tp points in COH, Villains only access to ones in COV and Rogues/Vigilantes access to both. How much extra coding could that possible create?

Since you can't get access to villain story arcs as vigilante and you can't get access to hero story arcs as a rogue there is no reason for them add that functionality to ouroboros.

yep. There's why this idea gets a big fat /UNSIGNED

Vigilante and Rogue are classified as TOURISTS. While they can partake in joining teams, they aren't supposed to be able to start missions. Task-forces seem to be the only exception to the tourist rules, likely an internal compromise to deal with the inevitable event of a Rogue or Vigilante partaking in a task force for the opposite alignment and getting the star during TF progression.

Given that there are no plans for the tourist classes to be able to start story mission content for the opposite alignment, there is absolutely no reason to make a tourist-faction version of Ouroborus.

None at all. I have my personal blue and red bases coalitioned while that bug still existed and once inside a base you end up as a native alignmnet again. Villains/Rogues only see redside mission arcs and Heroes/Vigilantes see blueside mission arcs from the same crystal. I'd have to see about getting them teamed and trying to start a mission from either 'side'

That's great news that the crystals already work to give the proper list of missions depending on alignment. The only thing they'd need to do for a combined Ouroboros would be to have two portal crystals. Heroes would be unable to use the Villain portal and vice versa while the vigilantes and rogues could use either one.

I'm assuming the same teaming restrictions in the current co-op zones would still apply in a co-op Ouroboros. Makes me wonder why they haven't done it already.

Following on from this; I brought a Rogue to my blueside base and they acted as their native alignment (which I had expected when testing with a villain). They weren't allowed to my hero team because they were treated as a villain, even inside my bluebase and appearing as an ally. However I took Rogue to a Hero zone, teamed up with my Hero and then took them both into the base. Already teamed, they were treated as Heroes and I was able to start a hero flashback (The fortune teller mission, a classic) and complete it.

I took them to the same base, switched the team-leadership via promotion and tried to start the 'Earning Arachnos' Favor'. It loaded fine but it wouldn't select as it was tagged with the 'Villain' mission redtext. It couldn't be selected as the active task but I could use the crystal to Teleport-To-Contact which catapulted my hero back to Atlas. So one little glitch to worry about
