  1. Another server stability patch. We go years without one and then three in the space of a few weeks
  2. Boomtown needs to include some of the newer encounters in it like the reconstruction project that villains sabotage around levels 15-20 as well as the rise of the 5th in Boomtown.

Perez needs more damage. I mean it's supposed to be in the hands of the gangs but there's barely any gang-related motifs or drappings anywhere. The buildings and statues still look pristine (6 years olf pristine but still).

Galaxy coulda done with an upgrade too. Those nice shiney buildings in 'Galaxy Destroyed'... nowhere to be found in the Echo of Galaxy, it's the same dated bits we've been looking at for 7 years.

  4. There's already two missions in the game which have Invincibility: Mender Ramiel's "Future Memory" mission on the Alpha unlock arc and Vincent Ross's "Revelation" finalé mission from his arc, both of which are tied to Incarnate powers.

I must admit to wanting to have more arcs like this like another Future Memory type mission but I can't see a purchasable power being a plausable purchase.
  5. Vanguard boots. Something about the design of them I really like. They made part of my main's most-used 'heroic' outfit and getting the Vanguard loyalty pack was a godsend as I can now use them straight out of the costume creator.

They currently are one part of my awesome costume that I've been using one slot of each of my characters.

    Where's Wall-E?

158 - CUBE, Terrahawks - one of Zelda's cubes that used to cause the good guys no end of trouble. I was sure someone got that already...

142 - M.I.C., Telebugs - just realised who that was, it was the little companion that followed them around

Seriously, how the hell Pious managed when he was effectively doing all the work still eludes me to this day.

Cut to the present day and I discovered that while I'd pretty much given up on the SG, one player who remained in the SG in spite of its pitiful death had been busying himself building up the base to something awesome. Currently still unfinished, but awesome nonetheless. Which has pretty much inspired me to want to try again with the SG, only preferably with a fair bit more input from its members than I got the last time around.
    "Never give up! Never surrender!"

I inherited the lead after one of [C-D's] absenses from the game and I wasn't for letting it go. The layout had been small and then was a bit of jumble (from my perceptions) so when I got editing rights, I went to work. I wrote out a plan for the 'ship' and worked on a couple of rooms taking it as a redesign of the carrier after it got broke during a rescue mission

Only one room left to buy for the main design plan and then it's just filling in the details. It was always meant to be a surprise but I never got round to bringing it up.

Plenty of room. Most of the group is just filler alts of mine.

Well there's plenty of coalition spots left too (only 4 taken). NHU could borrow the transport if they wanted to

After searching for an hour, I found it:

173 Zax the droid, Benji Zax and the Alien Prince - I basically searched the web for all kind of variations of 80s live action robot and eventually stumbled onto an image of him at this blog and then found the show listed at Jumped the Shark.

    EDIT - Blarg, ninja'd
  9. Perhaps the webserver guys got a bit over-zealous when they heard 'the sale's on till the 29th' and added all the unavailale text. Then marketing noticed and said 'No, we don't want to stop selling the game on the 29th, just the sale ends then'. Nice they're keeping the site updated though.

I mean it was a bit odd that they'd stop selling boosters without a concrete date for City:Freedom.

    Where's Wall-E?

143 - S.A.M.A.N.T.H.A. from Telebugs. - I used to love watching that show
    65 - Horde bot from She-Ra - one of Hordak's flying drones.
127 - Robot Boy - from the cartoon of the same name
154 - Sergeant Bash, Robot Wars - amazingly got his name right at random

I think this is entirely relevant to the considerd Freedom market pricing.

I was the same with the GR complete collection for my third (formerly EU) account. I couldn't afford another game+expansion cost but then it dropped to the price of a month's full sub which I felt able to spend.

I might just buy those fifth and sixth accounts at this price

Update to this; I managed to push her to 50 which means that I'm free of the levelling grind on all my accounts (at least till Praetoria has 30-50 content ).

Seems someone left the DXP on so I could finish the goal this time.
  15. Happy birthday man!

    Here's to many more!
  16. The initial plan: get my DP/en Blaster up the last 5 levels.
What actually happened: Get two of the highest alts on my third account up to 50 since it was the only one without a single 50 on it.

Jennifer Calum, Vigilante: 41-47. Almost there but significantly closer and I have other means to get her up that last mile.

Tyger Prime, Rogue: 40-50. Cha-ching! Most of the time she spent slaughtering Circle of Thorns with my Incarnate-powered MM. I got the itch in the my few waking hours. Hit 47 to match Jen, noticed I was halfway to 48, got to 48, noticed it was fairly quick and decided to try and hit 49, noticed I was two bars into 49 and figured "Who needs sleep?", got 2 bars from 50, started another mission and then fell asleep. Woke up with 30 minutes to spare, continued the mission, both Prime and my MM died, 15 minutes to go, hit that last couple of mobs and finished with Prime finally dinging for that last time, parking her in the Vanguard base just before the server went down

So the same as usual: plan for specific alts to get levels, switch to other alts I felt needed them more
  17. Here's how I went with mine (she took Soul Mastery as an EPP):

Alpha: Musculature, damage may be 'low' but it also affects other Incarnate powers and there's some nice secondary effects on the Radial Paragon which help some of your dark powers like endmod, immobilize, defence debuff and tohit debuff

Judgement: Ion judgement leading up to the Ion Core Judgement. A nice, devastating attack that has a wider reach on larger team sizes. Very powerful attack.

Lore: Seers Core Superior Ally. Psychic damage and mini dominators. I like them as a concept reason.

Interface: Reactive, naturally. That -res combined with the Fire DoT is lovely, especially as it works on ALL your pets, Seers, Dark Servant and the Thugs. Really stacks up.

Destiny: Ageless. While the recharge doesn't affect pets, it does have a +recovery on the Core side of the tree as well as refilling any end bar within it's range meaning the pets can continue hitting/smashing/firing. More often than not their end drains quickly so the instant refill pays off here.

Since she had these fitted at tier3, she's been a walking death machine, regularly wasting 0x8 with just common 50 IOs slotted (and some leftover SOs). I was also tagging along with a friend doing Maria Jenkins' Praetorian arc (they were running at normal settings then we upped to 0x8). While I was teamed with a fellow Incarnate we had to change the settings so that the Praetorians showed up as AVs to make it remotely challenging. I teamed with the same friend again to help her takedown Siege and while it was a long battle, once the Lore pets recharged, he dropped quickly.

I'm not a min-maxer, most of the stuff was just 'best-fit' to my own experience but I can vouch that the above set really does work wonders.
  18. As I understand it; 'former' subscribers will have things that they paid for like SG which was inclusive of the past subs.

Free players won't be able to access SGs but Premium (former subscribers, players who pay for extra features) will. The info is up on the main site here. So it looks like you can still join and run them but not start new ones.

Essentially all the players I talk to seem to find the art on that charcter a little too plain and static, and the posts I've seen in this thread rarely mention the original Hamidon among their favorite designs. Let us know why it's awesome. That's what this thread is all about--what resonates with you and why.
I actually preferred the old Primal Hamidon, without the gusto auras. It's the idea of being in what should be a micro-organism, attacking us with its defenses which take the form of simple globes of cytoplasm. The abborant noises also add to the feel of being inside 'something'.

All that really needs to be added is a more visual gooey effect while inside its cell wall and actually having a thicker, more noticable one than the micron-thin one that exists now.

Let's also say I'll be in SG mode 100% of the time.

    ----

A friend of mine and I are going to be starting in Praetoria, so I can't even transfer inf to our new characters. So I just want an idea of a baseline ballpark of what to expect.

(I also recall the feeling that villains were poorer than heroes; does this mean that Praetoria might be the same way?)
Nope. Thankfully the now global inf market has seen to that. Gleemail (global mailing as mentioned) and the unified market means the inf flows free.

It is so worth marketeering. Sometimes you might strike lucky with recipe and salvage drops. I once got a Basilisk's Gaze recharge/hold recipe at level 30. I didn't think it would sell so I checked the price, just in case, and found the crafted IO went for 20+ million average from the last five sales. So I crafted it up and was instantly 7 times richer than my first 3 years of playing. At the very least check as you pass the auction house, just to be sure.

There's also the vendor trick as mentioned above. Kinetic Weapons tend to sell for peanuts, about 10-100 inf each and sell for 250 at a vendor. They also buy stuff at a premium buyback rate since there's no origin-specific vendors in Praetoria (yet). Sell all the junk TOs you get asap.

SG mode isn't a problem in Praetoria as they can't join a SG being essentially members of the Powers Division, regardless of which path you take. If you do go primalside at 20 through the rift mission they get a 100K prestige boost to the first group they join.

Praetoria also tends to spawn mobs at one level higher so you do gain a lot more. My Praetorians have all made several hundred thousand each by 20.

Then Marauder needs to be 50 feet tall to stand out from all those War Walkers or perhaps he could glow like a nuclear-powered Xmas tree

Might I suggest closing this thread? The OP did later admit to it being on a Teamspeak server, outside your remit, and the correct action has been repeated several times already. And there's been nothing but social commentary for the last few pages.

To add something to the discussion: I was once playing my second female Tanker, who admittedly does have her chest slider leaning to the right but doesn't walk around in the eden-bikini combo. I went idle in the Atlas hospital where a superman-clone going by Cal-El asked if I wanted to team then because I didn't answer immediately (checked my logs and there was about five seconds between this) he called her a **** and ran off which is where I returned. I sent a petition in about it and the next time I saw him he'd had his name changed and was complaining that he'd just come back from a suspension. I was on a different toon that time but it was gratifying that he'd been suitably chastised for either his behaviour, the infringement or both.

In real life there is a certain burden of proof but online there are chatlogs and banhammers.

Actually since i18, villains have more luck since they get Ancillaries AND Patrons without needing to side-switch (aside from VEATs who have no ancillaries and can only do Patrons).
