Yeah, seemed like caught some Virtue Disease(tm) with sporadic lag issues last night. There was one point where both E-Man and Caliburst dropped simultaneously, and they had a small difficulty getting back in. There were a few points (especially towards the end, but always during high congestion areas like the crystal mish) where I saw mobs stall for about five seconds, then go in superspeed to catch up. At the end, I lost KB entry for about a minute after Rommy went down.

Quote:Sorta; I'm in full agreement that the current "bugged" status leans players towards a particular "win" team build just to accommodate the bug. That bug (i.e., wrong design choice) needs to be dialed down appreciably to make the encounter a challenge w/o forcing build requirements to get past it.That's pretty epic doing it with the Hamidon not being fixed yet
That people can DO it shouldn't validate the current difficulty rating; it should just show stubbornness on the part of the playerbase that refuses to be locked out of a reward because of a bad judgment call.I think Castle's intention of MAG 10 hold difficulty on the green mitos is sufficient. I also think that intentionally failing a mission to get past it early on should NOT be permitted on Master runs, but that's a hard mechanic to enforce for Master requirements. (Maybe make an Ouro flag of "no mission failures"?)

Quote:Especially with the new builds out there, you forget that you can't just drop an Ouro portal at level 1 to get to where you wanna go. It's like learning to walk, again and again.I'm going to try to make this. I don't think I have the zone unlocked on any other toon than 1st. Son.
Man, I really need to play my alts sometime. -
It's odd. In theory it plays most like Bots, but I'm finding odd times when these guys just melt in front of the opposition. A majority of the time they don't, but when they do, you're left thinking, "Did I just hit the holy water sprinklers or something?"

Quote:Our first run was a similar time (1h15m). We did the 2nd run immediately thereafter and almost - ALMOST - got it to under one hour. When I saw Turgenev's post that his team was able to do it, we decided to give it a go with a faster time because we love this challenge.
(And holy crap, did we panic when we got "CHALLENGE FAILED" while taking out the last 2 generators, until we realized we just failed the time limit!)
Side note: Our 7 controllers had five Illusionists, which makes for a very unhappy Tank with all the PA out... XD
Now it's just doing this for time... and it's great to see others rising to the occasion. Bugged or not, where there's a will, there's a way.
Grats to you and your Liberty crew for a successful run, Desum! -
Yeah, this hurts my head every time we do a Master run, even moreso than losing Sands of Mu and my various vet attacks (which are supplementals, but fill some build gaps).

Some strategy suggestions I have:
Mission One: For time consideration, you can suicide Penelope Yin to "fail" the mish but continue the TF. This entails stealthing to the Rikti prison chamber where Yin's being kept, and then walking her into a group of nearby Rikti. Beware the Clockwork ambushes during this period.
Mission Two: Again for time consideration, you can have a stealth TPer bring the team to each point where you encounter the Riders, form up, then tackle the group, all the way to the end. Remember, The "Famine: Rider" must always die first - his debuffs are sick.
Mission Three: Suiciding the captive sisters Glacia and Infernia isn't just a time saver, but a societal gift for keeping the Chattersome Duo off our Earth. Same rules apply as with mish 1: Stealth around until the "Free X captive" updates your navigation compass, free them, then get 'em killed. Beware the Rikti ambushes that are triggered with each captive.
Mission Four: The Weakened Hamidon is fairly straightforward, except for the current (as of 5/23/10) MAG 50 mez resistance of the green mitochondria, which effectively requires a high hold capacity on the team (controllers, dominators, blast/defenders with hold attacks, etc). Make sure that a tank is successfully drawing aggro from the nucleus as you finish the mitos off, or the Hami will begin attacking the player who did last damage on the mitos. Judicious use of EoE (Essence of the Earth) inspirations is a great way of avoiding "oops" moments like what I just outlined.
Mission Five: Again, stealthable to the final room, where your three objectives are located (2 AV kills, 4 generator destructions). Staying together is critical; you can get easily swamped in this room if you're not careful. One tactic is to take on the Rikti AV Hro'Dtohz, then the Honoree who is spawned when Hro'Dtohz is around 25% health, then take out the generators quickly while avoiding ambushes and general Rikti aggro. You can also go in reverse and wipe the room of Rikti mobs to minimize general aggro, pop the generators, then the AVs. How you work this out depends on your team build and general capacity for rapid damage output (to bring the AVs and generators down in a minimum of time). -
Count me in. I'll bring what's needed to get the TF won, but barring any needs, I'll bring Supreme Soviet, bots/traps MM.

I don't think I said tonight, bro (but correct me if I did, and I'm sorry if I did!). I'm entertaining a guest tonight and ain't gamin' tonight, but am willing for tomorrow night. I'm not stoppin' the Master runs just cuz I got it.

Quote:Check out E-Man's Master posts for a good format. Advice so nice, I'll say it twice.Right but how about Possible Handling AV and the Thorn Tree, it seems in the past we had issue with Ghost Widow and the Damn Thorn Tree.

One solid point to bring up is to be consistent with your team. Attitude goes a long way in transforming a frusteating failure into a wry learning experience. Invite people who add to the experience (powers, tactics and social competence) instead of a minmax OCD type who'l ragequit if things go sour. These runs should be "fun" even as they'te challenging.
Consistency is important too. When a team does the run a few times, they'll naturally gravitate into their roles, which can make a difference between someone playing their roomie's 50 and someone who wears their toon like a second skin.
Also, check out E-Man's Master posts for a good format. Some classes help more than others, but don't lock yourself into a class war. -
Quote:Luna's right. Base raids must be enabled to acquire this badge. And, a base must have an IoP, which you could only get thru the Cathedral of Pain trial (that was active for what, 4 days?).Long story short, if I find the right help, do I have a snowball's chance in hell of obtaining this or will the Power Liberator badge always be the big whitehead zit on the face of my heroic badging career?
I ended up transferring to Infinity for a few days in 2008 to get it from Ms. Mesmer and her crew for PowLib farming. That possibility is long past, however.

I'll get my groove on for this. Jonna Hex: Demon/Thermal MM, please.

Quote:I haven't seen spam on Freedom for a while now. Sounds like the RMT groups have moved fully to Virtue (assuming that's where you're complaining about). Thanks for taking our problem kids. They must be desprate if they're paying for disposable accounts...but the Chinese can't have THAT kind of money. o.o Perhaps they have expanded to richer countries like uhhh um... Taiwan?

This, basically. Without knowing more detail, I call shenanigans.

Quote:Did you make it in last night? Didn't see you, although I think @Transcendent One ended up running the one before my crew.I will be running again tonight for as many runs as I can take, and hopefully at least one will result in Master
I have a few more toons to get this badge for (Supreme Soviet, Blackest Light, Rex Obscura to wit), so don't hesitate to make a signup here. -

Got the badge last night. 1h41s. Badgewh#*@ team of 7 controllers and one tank (except for one player, these were all our badge toons...). Two runs because the first one had a single death after the green mito phase, and we all were juiced on how easy it otherwise went with our particular makeup.
This ain't an endorsement for the current green mito difficulty, but yeah, it can be done. IMO, I'd rather wait 'til the green mito nerf for my next run.
GL to everyone! See my thread on Freedom for details! -
Our Dramatis Personae:
Quote:When we formed the team and picked up a few PUGs, we laughed at the team composition. Except for Morna, these were all the toons we wanted the badge on.Task Force Jutland
Maxwell Blast: Invul/SS Tanker
Phantom Quark: Ill/Rad Controller
Fiery Lye: Fire/Kin Controller
Dr. Turgenev: Ill/Storm Controller
Doctor Leo: Ill/Emp Controller
Lil Morna: Ill/Rad Controller
Powershift: Ice/Rad Controller
Mistress Rain: Ill/Rad Controller
Time: 1h0m41s(She got hers earlier, but opted to fit in with the cool Illusion kids.) We actually did two runs tonight, because of a single death vs the Hami (Doctor Leo) after the greens had fallen. We opted to run it again, and it went very quickly.
