Quote:Damn gun jumpers. Armin van Buuren just FB'd the whole HNY thing from his gig out in Australia. Don't you realize it ain't valid 'til midnight hits NYC for the ball drop?Wishing all my fellow Freedomites a happy new year! Remember Pork and Kraut on new years day!

Quote:I completely agree with this post. I'm about 2 weeks out of my last day job set with my primary badger. Day Jobs made me STOP badging on all my other toons from sheer frustration. As of today new years eve. I am finnaly done the day jobs on blue and now red side. It stunk and was not fun. But i can now play my badger more So thats good.
I dont really like the day job badges. Bad idea to make badges for not playing your favorite characters however because of it i probably have 15 more 50s then i would have so i guess i see what they were doin.
I wont miss "needing" to log out in a certain spot. And i wont be pissed when i log back in to realize i just was in the wrong spot and i missed 5 days. That was frustating.
please NO MORE day jobs in future issues!!!!! -
Quote:This is pretty analogous to how I use my system. I put notes in the note field to indicate how I met them, like "awesome tank on that kill all ITF", "leeeeroy jenkins wannabe, KOS", etc. For special cases, I drop in warnings, like "been in hospital", "do NOT mention puppies", "player's 8 yrs old", etc.5 stars: Real life friends, SG officers, and other especially helpful people.
4 stars: SG-mates, and other players who have been generally helpful and friendly toward me.
3 stars: Players I've been on a pick-up group with, but didn't really stand out one way or the other. This is the only rank for which I don't include a note explaining what warrants the rank, since it is my default.
2 stars: Players who do things that, while generally inconsiderate and annoying, are not things that violate any actual game rules.
1 star: Those who have commited petition-worthy offenses such as griefers, trolls, RMT spammers, cyberstalkers, and people who spew threats and abuse. -
When everyone was doing the Lady Winter missions, I'd swear I was getting 3-5 shard drops per map. Tried it last night and only scored 2, but this might be an easy one to hop into and treat as a kill all, since it's so easily reset and allows for heroes and villains.

Time to shake up my toon closet for the holidays... Here's my current roster as of December 2010. Added 3 more to bring me to a total of 18 50's, but I added to my toon projects to get a stack of them to the 25-40 range. Electric Control is better at end drain than my electric blaster, dammit...

I'll run Soviet for the Katie TF, and another toon for the Ouro-accessible arc. Merry Xmas, E-Man.

Happy Feast of the Unconquerable Sun to all my fellow Cimerorans out there!
I was here when the lights went on, and I'll be here when the lights go off. It's good to see you're basically telling me "oh, Turg, you ain't done yet by a LONGshot." Thanks for that present.
Cheers, and I look forward to enjoying your world with my fellow players in 2011 and beyond.

Possibly maybe. I'm coming back from NYC that afternoon (IF I go... weather might keep me in DC), so if I'm conscious, I'll be in attendance.
Thanks as always for hosting, Luna!

Castle:
For you.
Quote:Fare well in all things, and I look forward to hearing rumors of you farming on Freedom, and correcting everyone's damage multiplier calculations while they do it.Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened. - Dr. Seuss -
I think I can come dance for this. Toon TBA.

If the channels are full, that means those people wanted to be there. To accommodate you, someone would have to step out of the channel to make a hole for you. (Or, have a mod boot someone at random, which is really kinda a jerk move.) That's the only "help" you can hope for, realistically.

Quote:Do the reboot. There was a hotfix that went through yesterday that didn't push properly to clients unless they did a local system restart, then tried to run the COHUpdater again. I had this issue, and after fussing with it about 20 minutes, I looked at the Tech Issues forum, and read the solution as outlined here.Don't waste your time on a reboot, unless you have nothing better to do. It does not work.
This is not a PC issue. We are able to get pass the login screen, and everyone is having a problem selecting a server. Freedom and Virtue are the ones I have tried.
This is support issue.. their login servers are not communicating with their game servers it looks like, even though they are up.
(The fact that you HAVE to do a system restart is pretty dumb, yes, but it's the "easy fix" for now 'til the devs/QA figure out what's preventing the updater from working properly.) -
Just saw this bug. Trying to fix through it now.

Verifying this for people who want to know. It's a Father Time mish that you get at the Ski Chalet. The doors are on the ski slopes. Very alignment-friendly.

Quote:This is kinda my thinking as well. Does this happen when you login to COH from a different machine? It's been said that once you see the progress bar start to move on the zoning screen, the process of zoning is now being handled client side. That is, it's your computer building up the map. So maybe the Base textures files have been corrupted and is causing your comp to choke. Did you try to do a Verify Files?

Precisely. I think the biggest problem is that people see the Voiders as "throwaway" spawns - avoided if you can because there's no real value to them. At least this would give them some in-game value.
I had an idea on this story arc concept ages ago that I might finally sit down and do.Thanks for reminding me that the Voiders still exist!

Quote:Not speaking from experience in the WE beta, and as others have pointed out, this is likely just "theme" text. It'll probably be accessible from Pocket D/Ski Chalet like previous winter event runs.Does this mean that we are going to have to be able to go to Rogue Isles (IE not a Hero) in order to participate in this event? (Which will award the Cold as Ice badge)
(...if you're paranoid, it wouldn't hurt to set yourself up as Rogue/Vigilante, just in case.)
