I'm inclined to agree with Sapph here. Even with a few informal chats with Z and B, I still don't get the allure of the VIP server, UNLESS I get free unlimited transfers or, better yet, character copies to that server, to socialize with players from other server hosts.

I don't like the idea of being away from new players. I feel like a Bad Parent(tm).

(I did like the prime placement of the COH screenshot at 2m37s, with the comment of "Players ARE content".)

Very doable, Luna. The only negative for Lambda is the warehouse/lab area access, which AFAIK isn't accessible/doesn't exist in the public zone rendering. (I checked last week.) There ARE some good map layouts of the internal Lambda areas, though... TsumijiZero made quite a few good maps for all the trials, in fact. I'll link them out, just remind me.

Oh dear god, not the whole server.. XD I wanna keep it manageable for the first run, but I have no objections to doing more info tours! Better yet, if we can start a TREND where people do this on request, then my purpose for starting this (saturate the info out there so it spreads out) will be fulfilled.

Shred, thanks for the vote of support, and like I said, if this works out, I'll be doing this again, and soon. Feel free to ping me in-game if you want an ad-hoc tour.

WHY DOES IT TAKE ME AN HOUR TO DO THIS TRIAL
If so, then I'd like to offer an opportunity to you, the inquisitive participant, to take a stab at learning a trial that, when everyone's on their game, only takes 25 minutes to complete.

The Freedom Horde Excursion Tours team proudly presents...

Mission: Non-Trial TOUR of the Keyes Reactor Facility in Praetoria
    Tour Guide: Dr. Turgenev
    Location: Pocket D

    Date & Time: Thursday, August 11th @ 10:30PM Eastern / 7:30PM Pacific

Level Range: Anyone who wants to learn the Keyes trial, just have a travel power. :P

Combatants: No combat, but lvl 20 mobs will be in vicinity

Intended Team Roster: Open, up to 48 joiners total in a League format. It'd be helpful to have a few experienced players on-hand as team leads, to guide their crews accordingly.

    Keyes Reactor Tour Details
    • This walkthrough is geared towards players who are unfamiliar with the Keyes trial in general, and the various badge requirements for the "Master of the Keyes Reactor Trial" set. We'll be going through each stage using a non-trial version of the map, to give time for people to ask questions and let the info soak in.
    • Tour will be in Neutropolis, with players forming up in Pocket D.
    • If you are interested in signing up, please post here with your desired hero/villain name and your global, so I know how to find you.

Didn't you read the FAQ? Anti-Matter installed BoseĀ® Articulated Array speakers all over the Reactor grounds. When he speaks, you hear his dulcet tones in rich, consistently tonal balance, all thanks to 24 small drivers arranged in the perfect aural geometry to wow your audience.

Before you irradiate them into pea soup.

This is neither enjoyable or strategically a good thing. It fosters neither cooperation or strategic thought.
From your posts, I'd say the problem is with the people, not the trial. As others have remarked, once you "know" how it works, it's fairly easy to get through. Badge work IS harder, yes, but it's a bloody knuckle scenario for only two of them. On a non-badge run, with people who know their stuff, my best time so far has been 22 minutes. That's not much longer than a Lambda, and the Lambda isn't much longer than a BAF.

Have you considered setting up training runs, led by people know either are experienced with the trial mechanics, or honestly just know how to read a Wiki page? I'll be hosting one for Freedom this week in Praetoria (the geography is identical to the trial, including the bunker doors). It's a great way for people to learn the run in a non-panic environment, so they're not slowing everyone down by asking constantly, "OMW WHAT DO I DO NOW WHY AM I HURT OMG OMG OMG".

If you're on Freedom, watch the forum, that invite will go up probably tonight. It's about time players broke out of their comfort zone. This is your opportunity.
  7. Sorry I missed this... my MiFi hotspot wasn't taking connections for some reason, so I had to restart it a few times. By the time I got in... *door shut* Glad everyone got the badge, well done!

Just something I noticed earlier and thought should be pointed out.
    Easy fix.

    "Indestructibler."
  9. Trying to get a net tap now but being problematic. Will update in a few.
  10. Looks like you opted for Champion. Good server, great people. Don't feed the Elf Stalker.
  11. Absolutely. Did you have any particular Freedom questions?
  12. Heya: There's a scrapper named "Miss Lee." who's interested in running this tomorrow as well. Nice badger, told her you guys were the best. I gave her the time and place, and told here there was an alt list already, but FYI if there's a 2nd team for this!

Start today and you will. Go to Dark Astoria (for having the densest amount of lvl 20+ mobs) and kill Pantheon minions galore 'til you get your tips allotment for the day (3 + 2), then run them. (Pick missions that are quickly done.) Do the same tomorrow. Once you get 10, keep wiping up the streets in DA 'til you get a morality drop. Choose Vigilante. Profit!

What if Richter DID receive powers from the Well, but was subdued by Cole and kept imprisoned? Think about what other signature superhumans have done: Reichsman kidnapped other alternate dimension Coles to feed his power. Lord Recluse, in the future, imprisoned Positron to power his "ultimate weapon". There's a precedent here for using other superhumans as Duracell batteries.

What if Praetoria's greatest shame was that their beloved Emperor was fueled, in part at least, by the ongoing powers and energy of his best friend, for all these years?
  20. Side note: What kinda toon is Zwillinger bringing to the table here?
  21. I'm a solid maybe leaning to yes. I'm in NYC this weekend, but I think I should be able to attend this one.

I play the game for fun, and shouldn't have to worry about people living in their mothers basement or 13 year old boys who should be in school.
Whoever set up the TS server (assuming it's privately managed) should be able to step in and moderate the discussion. If they don't, you're running with the wrong crowd.

Someone pointed out you don't need voice comms to get a Master Keyes run. I can confirm this. If you need help on getting this and you happen to be on Freedom, gimme a holler and I'll put you into the mix (I have to score up another team for someone who missed our Master runs last week anyway). If you're on another server (I didn't check your post history), lemme know which one and I'll see if I know someone there who can help. (Probably not, but hey, you never know.)

The people I run with are by far and large top notch, and I've been seeing the game through their eyes for over half a decade. I don't tolerate absence of social niceties in any situation, and neither should you.

The whole female-only server thing, though, that just won't work, even just considering logistics. Who's going to check?
