Returning players

Hi Freedomites. My sis and I were thinking of coming back and starting fresh on Freedom. In your own opinions, is Freedom an ok place to do this?

You pay to play. Having fun is ok. Kill Skuls or kill Crey. Hunt at night or in the day. Black or white or shades of grey. Play it your way. We have no say.

You will have a lot of opportunity to find plenty of folks to game with here on the forums and on the many Freedom Channels.

Freedom is the best for what it is.

  • You can pick up a group of veteran players pretty easily.
  • Lots of specialized channels of TF people, GM hunters, etc.
  • People are everywhere and are there to play.
I'm originally from Liberty, which is good and has some great players, but the pugging was horrible.

Oh...
  • If you are going to farm for tickets, etc, Freedom is the place to find people who specialize in that and learn from them. While ticket farming might not be much fun [and I still haven't manged to see the appeal] some people just don't want to market.
That said, if you're used to less populated servers, the circus in Atlas Park can be overwhelming. I suggest getting out ASAP and don't forget to /ignore the shouting kids who think they're witty.

I'd also recommend Virtue, but the role players kinda skeeve me out. I had this one toon, Parker Volt, who for some reason attracted the creepers. Yeech.

But, hey, welcome back. If you're on Champion, definitely take advantage of Tanker Tuesdays. Justice also has them and I have exactly only one tank on each server.

Sometimes, trials are scheduled in the forums. More often, folks just head over to Pocket D and get on a league. There's usually one or two forming for most times of the day.

I'd say a BAF leaves Pocket-D every 10 minutes or so. You might have to wait around 20 for a Keys. I don't pay attention to Lam.

Freedom grinds the incarnate trials heavy.

We're like the metro bus. Services run every 15 minutes, with extra runs on the weekend to accommodate the tourists.

(Seriously, trials are NOT a problem here. Incarnate trials are the new hotness, with BAF and LAM being the most common, but Keyes gets done by intrepid, brave players about once a half-hour as Posti noted.)

Watch here for players looking to organize the trials or teams ahead of time, but you can easily PUG your way through it too.

Of note: Everyone knows how to run BAF here. Though you may get on a mutiny team, meaning a non-league leader person will suggest and lead away people into a different version/strategy. I've also had leaders who were incredibly picky about where we dropped Nightstar.

If you don't know where choke points are, just follow someone. Pretty much it means sidewalks. Doors are obvious, but no one plays doors. After the initial kill, head to the middle of the tennis courts. I know different servers play different ways, but Freedom just grinds it the easiest way. No one goes for Master Of.

Welcome to Freedom then. Stay out of Atlas or make a bind to ignore $target and you'll be fine.

Just kidding about that ignore $target. But it's actually not a bad idea if you occasionally ticket-farm in Atlas.

Choke pts are the intersection of the prisoners' paths. It is north and south of the tennis courts. The idea is to trap the prisoners around the choke points via control powers, eliminate them with AoE and pick off the rest who survive. If there are any escapes, it is usually at the south, since some prisoners run off the sidewalk and go behind the building to the exit as shown in the orange path in the pic below:

(From the MoBAF guide)
Of all the trials, I believe this is the easiest to get Master of.

Yet another "get out of AP" response. Just use /ignore for the persistent ones, move to another zone, and you'll be fine. See your other thread where everyone was trying to give you advice.

Do so, I did the same thing a while back from Guardian and its just a lot more populated so getting a team or so together is pretty easy.

Again, get out of Atlas.

Even as low as level 5 you can go to Kings Row, which has many fewer people, but you don't get the broadcast spam. From KR you go to Steel Canyon, then Talos island, which you can hang out it until your 40s if you feel like, though I've started growing fonder of Founders Falls, where you should be in the 30s, since I've been taking flight as my travel power. FF is horrible if you have Super Speed only.

And one thing to remember, the broadcast spammers in Atlas are not the majority, they are just the loudest. That said, if you are over level 7, there is no reason to be there. Heck, if I did farm I'd go to the RWZ for the peace and quiet.

Well I just moved over to Freedom from Triumph, made some new alts, will probably make more. This server seems pretty busy, so hopefully I can find some pickup groups.

Welcome.

I played up my first 50 on Liberty, then tried out Virtue and Freedom. And when we got those server transfers a year ago, I moved all my favorites here or parked them on Virtue.

Virtue doesn't have the ghetto feel our Atlas does, but the RPers skeeve me out.

Freedom Incarnate

The New Colossus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free
,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Who doesn't love Freedom!!!!
