Hey, E: Not an alt, I'll be there, I just haven't decided on the toon yet. I'll pick a body tonight. Put me on the "it's on like Donkey Kong" list please!

Hmmm. Did we do an Underground trial this weekend? I had another guy from Liberty join my team and he was all "woot real people no egos" about the run. I don't remember your global matching his tho. (He was named Taxi something)

Quote:I actually responded in the other thread earlier this morning before I saw this one. Link:I'm still waiting to hear from Turgenev as to whether he's going to need a pickup from the airport before finalizing my Fred's Steak lunch plans on Friday.
Turgenev, that's your cue to either answer me here, in the other thread, or by PM.

Figure I'll consolidate further responses there, since that thread's a player-centric organizational conversation for things going on around the Summit. -
Quote:Heya TJ: Been talking with Crayhal, and signs point to yes to a possible pickup there. I'll confirm with him this week, but if he or you can pick me up, or if I have to take a taxi from the airport, my flight gets in around 1:05pm local time. I plan on one carry-on to keep my exit time to a minimum, so figure ETA at the hotel (no matter how I get there) will be at 2pm-ish.I haven't heard from Turgenev as to whether he was still going to need a pickup from the airport, but since he's getting in a little after 1:00 perhaps we can hold off until 1:30 if he wants to join us. My original plan was to eat before his flight arrived and then pick him up after lunch, but I'm flexible with that plan, I just need to hear from him about it.
I'll PM the both of you later today to see what would work out better for orchestration. I'd say for either of you to come hungry/thirsty so I can repay the pickup with some chow, but if you wanna do that beforehand, we can figure something out. -
Red_Gren: Thanks for consolidating plans in this thread! Comments per-day are below:
Friday Night: As previously stated, I think I have my evening spoken for already.
Saturday morning: BACON WAFFLES?! I'm in like Flynn! Pick the time!
Saturday lunch: I'm down for In-n-Out + Paragon Drive-By Fanboy episode. I understand they frown upon internal visits, but I don't think anything's stopping us from taking pictures in front of their shop.
Sunday morning: I have to be on a plane at 10am at SJC, so unless we gather at the crack of dawn, I'm probably going to focus on just getting back home! -
My pleasure, Negate. Now go forth and form a team, and drill, drill, drill.
-
Quote:Then do your homework here:Nah, I'm still a newbie to this trial but I can't wait! I'm excited to try it out!
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Underground_Trial for general trial requirements.
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/The_Un...Trial/Strategy for qualitative tactics for each piece.
The trial flows very nicely, and so long as everyone's listening, it can be done (non-master) on the quick at around 30 minutes. Badge-focused, factor in an hour. -

Quote:This does not speak to a specific character limit. The number, as others have pointed out, is arbitrary. There is nothing in Skunk and Whipple or whoever you're going to quote that says "verily, good sir, a TRULY magnificent piece of superheroic biography MUST be One-Thousand-Twenty-Fi-- no, FOUR characters."Similarly, CoH is not just a platform for creative expression in game play, but a social environment as well. The ideal biography must be both well written in terms of style and concisely composed in order to reach the widest audience.
Increasing the limit to 2048 is an arbitrary increase; double doesn't mean it's perfect, it just means "double the space within which to write". It does NOT demand the "Concise-atives" here from keeping their own biography to their self-imposed limit. It DOES allow those who wish to add more flourish to their own personal biography the breathing room in which to do so.
I still fail to see how both viewpoints are NOT accommodated by an increase in text allowance. -
Quote:This said it pretty clearly. Working in a small box isn't a challenge, it's a limitation, and one that is purely arbitrary to its establishment back in 2003/4. Do you think people will quit if they suddenly have MORE space in which to write a bio? Do I think YOU (and by this, I mean the people who are fighting the idea) will quit if it's done?If you don't like reading long bios, or won't read a bio that scrolls. Then don't.
Let us enjoy our longer bios. People do appreciate longer ones as well as not.
Perhaps the Bio doesn't need extending, but let's have a "Backstory" Tab in the bio between Bio and Badges.
If you don't want to look in that tab, it'll never offend your TL;DR senses. For those of use that like to write and read longer pieces, we can look there.
Answer me this. If it started at 2048 characters back in 2004, would we even be having this conversation? The bar would have shifted and have become the norm. Today, there would be people clamoring for more space, and people stating "I feel like writing while confined in 2K of letterspace speaks to my inner Kafka".
In the end, it would "change" nothing, except give people who wanted more text space what they wanted. As near as I can tell, that's a win/win for everyone. -

Thanks to PERC for hosting this, and to the Freedom Crew for making this a staggeringly fun turnout!
And remember:
Quote:I think I have a screenshot of all the semifinalists, I'll put it up later today if so. Take care![Request] PERC Madame Pistacio: If for any reason he cannot fulfill his duties, -Muerte is our 2nd place winner!
[Request] PERC Madame Pistacio: If for any reason she cannot fulfill her duties, Shock Hazzard is in 2nd place!
EDIT: And here we go. Male toons were on Blue team, ladies on Green, and PERC was on red team. (Image clickable for full size)

Quote:Yeah, not super-game breaking, but inconsistent. We just joke about having reached "THE WEAPONS CRATE OF THE FURIES" as we do our SLAM runs on Freedom. That definitely does seem odd. I would think this was a bug, and should be submitted as one. Don't know why they'd give crates the Hami-code.
-
Scenario: Lambda trial, an Illusion controller spawns Phantom Army (by definition, "indestructible" by all but the Hamidon, and that was a hack later on to keep people from showering Hami with pets) atop one of the Weapons Crates or Containment Chambers in the underground areas of the Lambda.
When these items explode, their explosion does fire/lethal damage, with a smidgeon of knockback. BUT: This damage will hurt Phantom Army, which are supposedly indestructible.
Anyone know if this is "working as designed"? If so, what was the design? That the crates are higher on the Incarnate track than we are?
I figured PQ would get a wider base of readership than the Controllers forum, and this appears to be topic appropriate, so anyone got a clue on this? Thanks! -
Crap, thanks for the reminder. I totally forgot.

Quote:I can guarantee you they'll have to send someone to my house to get me to log out so they can shut the servers down for good.I heard this mantra a lot over the years. What's interesting now is that you can stick around until the servers shut down...for free! So I guess the REAL question is...are you going to be a VIP?
I will be staying VIP. Despite the SSA & Incarnate storylines not being my cup of tea. My reasons? RP on Virtue and using the MA to help facilitate it. Also PVP, and the current PVP league on Freedom. Player-run events are what's keeping me VIP. (Even if I probably don't need to be in order to do what I want to do.)
That plus I've grown too used to alpha slot!
So what does the future hold for you? VIP or Premium? I can see the appeal of Premium...especially for people that have been here a long time and get so much for free due to the Paragon Rewards programme!
I let my 2nd acct go Premium obviously, it's just a handy storage account. For my primary though? I'll keep paying Paragon Studios for as long as they make good stuff.
21.5 issues later, it's still good stuff. -
Quote:4. Show them how to use the Map. That way, you've demonstrated a key asset to them, and they leave you. This weekend I had an odd experience. Heres what happened I was in Atlas Park talking to a friend, and a person came up and asked where Perez Park was. Ordinarily not a problem ,but this toon was level 50. And it happened three times with three different toons three different globals. I finally asked how they got a 50 and they said ran sewer trial 3 days in a row.
I know people have aright to spend their time anyway they want, but I have to ask is this productive for the game. I think they could be three solutions for this "problem" before posi blows a gasket and calls us exploiters again..
1 no xp after level 10 in sewer trial...
2 more trials like sewer trial for higher levels
3 making the trial harder
This is just off top of my head.if anyone has different solution please add to this thread. -

Nope, but there's an update rolling out this morning. Haven't seen the patch notes yet.
For future trouble issues that you think are game rather than server related, go to the Technical Issues forum, found here:

Cheers! -
Heya Swag. Private channel, or public? If it's public, I can put it in the master channel list for Freedom (stickied in this forum). Let me know.

Heya, gang.
I'm a little late to this party, but thanks to forces unspeakable, I find myself able to attend the Summit.I've read through, but if any of this has been addressed elsewhere, please direct me there!
I've only found two threads regarding the summit: This one, and one that was the initial posting, with a last update around 10/15 (where this one seemingly takes over). Is there a consolidated thread or website where players are coordinating room shares and/or shuttle rides from the airport?
My stats, for the record:
- Arrive in SJC from DC at 1:05pm local time Friday afternoon
- Check in at Dinah Hotel at 3pm
- Dinner arrangements are already set, but I'm happy to hang with anyone for a lunch, beer, etc. before that time
- Leave SJC for DC at 10:10am local time Sunday morning
I can manage a cab, but the best prices I've found thus far is around $40, which IMO seems steep for a 15 mile trip. If anyone has any recommendations for local cab or shuttle services to/from SJC, I'm happy to investigate (or share a ride with anyone who'd be arriving that time). I'm also happy to
I'm looking forward to meeting all of you, players and Paragon staff alike. Samuraiko, I think you might owe me a beer for your infection woes from earlier last month. All other bets are off!
