  1. Are ambushes that much of a problem that they needed to do this? I'm not being sarcastic. I honestly would like to know. What IS the source of the ills in AE? Do the farms rely on ambushes?

  3. One issue with the current rating system is that we get a vague, "You're near this whole number" tally. Allowing an author to see an actual breakdown of star ratings would give that author a better indication of where folks really stand. For instance, after the latest round of one-star smashings from a couple of weeks back, all of my arcs say that they're at four stars. But which ones are REALLY liked best by my audience and by how much? I have no real clue as-is.

    Such a view would also help us, the authors, better identify precisely when we get one-star slammed, and it would give us some ammunition to tell support, "Look, this arc has fifty five-star rates, twenty four-star rates, three three-star rates, no two-star rates, and ten one-star rates that have all appeared in the last week. What gives?"

  6. Was wondering the same. I got some stuff on the 17th, of all things, which was weird, but my billing's on the 21st, and I still haven't received a 3 year badge (been playing 3 years, 3 months according to my account info), despite having badges clearly labeled 1 and 2 years. I'm sitting at 17 tokens used. What gives?
  7. Stuff has a tendency of vanishing after having a little bit of support. Anyone else remember the in-game ads that used to be on the sides of the bus station benches and the like?
  8. Thanks for the run of PENGUIN! About Thad Melton escorting to Dr. Simons' desk: it's the only way I could get it to work right. He's not being held prisoner by the guards; he's cowering behind them as the heroes come busting in.
  9. Thanks for the play on PENGUIN, Coulomb! I agree about the placement of Melinda White in the final mission. There's not much I can do there; the placement options for her are a little fickle. I'll see what I can manage. Regarding Thad Melton in the first mission, I will say that it's possible to run the mish in about 30 seconds without unlocking him at all, so I can understand why you missed him.

    But yeah, I'm pleased with PENGUIN overall at the moment. My major beef with it is that, to me, I see a few too many similarities to the later designed PENGUIN Part 2. Maybe I can come up with some way(s) to better distinguish them.

  11. Luckily, NONE of my stuff seems to have been hit. I haven't run through everything on my arcs (well, ok, I blitzed PENGUIN in about 15 minutes last night), but none of them are giving errors in the editor, yet.

    Here's hoping they get all this fixed for everyone who did suffer changes!

  14. Regarding Catgirl: Catgirl's the name that the Carrie Kelly Robin takes in Dark Knight Returns 2, if I recall right. She has a brown outfit with big ears.

    She also has a 35 point HeroClix unique figure from way back when.

  17. Having the ability to rate only on completion seems best. How many times have you had someone on your team play through your arc and forget/not get the chance to rate, but they were able to start it right back up and quit just to rate it favorably then? Yes, they've completed it, so they should be able to rate it whenever; otherwise, no dice.
  18. I logged in to see all my arcs 1-starred today. One of them's still showing 5-stars. The others are 4. Fox Hunt had to be unpublished because I'm not putting up with a 3-star rating as of rating #2.

    Grrrrrr.

  21. Fox Hunt has been revised and republished as of last night. Its new arc ID is 516075. For those who've played it before, the story has been tightened up some with the removal of Zealot and the addition of The Paragon Bomb to an earlier mission; he's basically chasing the characters through the arc, now. Also, I got rid of the Fox and Jack Vega trying to run away and brightened up Jack Vega's hair some.

  23. I wouldn't say that the AE is strictly useful for grinding. It's possible to tell some fantastic stories AND to manipulate objectives so that one can present a linear, easy to follow, story-based approach. Feel free to check out my PENGUIN (29205) and Hammer and Sickle of Paragon City (351727) for a couple of examples where I tried to make arcs that were focused on dedicated storytelling. Are they perfect? Not entirely, but are they GOOD? I should hope so.
