tried these this morning with my 8800GT but the physX was still greyed out.

Ok!

As a regular team leader radio missions seem to be the better option for a number of reasons.

1. You can always speak to the contact. There is no 5 min wait whilst someone has to travel across zones to speak to someone.

2. There are no crappy talk to missions that involve travelling across 2 zones (first to gate or train, then to talky) to go all the way back.

3. Mission Arcs have a nasty way of being outleveled that in turn then need to be completed with little or no xp.

4. Who really follows the stories in a team.

5 Mission Arcs have instances is zones all over the place.


For me that has limited playtime (I do many teams that involve people being on at the same time and so if one logs we all log) I feel that playing radio missions increases our leveling as they have none of the drawbacks as above. Now if someone was too join my Radio Mission Fest (RMF. Woot New TLA) and not be happy they would be welcome to leave as I am sure there are other teams running out there. And for my regular teamers I would expect them to have a word or say something about the RMF and maybe suggest a different way to do things and not just Post on the forum and that being the first I heard of it.

If normal missions are going to become the way of the team again (not saying they are not already but I agree a lot of groups tend to RMF) then the things that have been mentioned above need to be looked at.

Something else that probably needs to be looked at it when you have outleveled contacts. When I have tried to catch my contacts up they seem to be very unwilling to let me know who will give me missions. In fact they seem to think it is a big joke if I go and talk to everyone else, and when I finally get some missions it starts an arc that is capped 3 levels lower than my current level.

Fix the stuff that is wrong on Heroes Side (Dont do villians teaming, well at least when I'm the leader anyway). Then teams may well start mission arcs.

SUBNOTE: It isn't like I dont do story arcs, but

1-5 - Sewers
5-6 - Kings row for temp travel
6-15 - Hollows
15-25 - Faultline
25-40 - Radio Missions. I know at 35 we can do RWZ so we need another zone or mission arc that covers from 25 - 35 that doesnt involve overpowered dwarfs or hags.
41-50 - AV arcs and the like

Not having as much experience as FFM I am a computer and electronic engineer and as far as I can see the bad word about vista comes from people using it on sub-par systems then declaring it to be rubbish.

If we look back to when XP was introduced, people were installing it on systems with 128MB to 256MB of ram. Nowadays the recognised concensus is that XP requires 2GB of RAM to be anywhere near suitable for gaming.

It is becoming apparrent from things that I am hearing the the 2GB sweet spot of Ram on XP is in fact 3GB on Vista.

I think if people only used vista on machines that were close to a spec capable of running it they would be far more impressed rather than slating it and declaring it to be c**p.

I run a mcahine that was built for Vista and lets just say I am never going back to XP

Can I ask what qualifies you to give such information?

Just get a CoT paper mission and upset a guide or 2, and get them into melee range and put rest on. There knife attack does smash/lethal and dark damage (i think) that will knock a resting hero/villian down to 1/4 or a 1/3 health but will regen before the next attack. Some ATs like tanks with lots of passives may be able to farm 2 guides at once Just test and see what your toon can take/handle

To the guy that says ASUS are known for crashes. My whole system is ASUS and my laptop is ASUS. I have had no problems with these for as long as I have had them. They are the best machines/components I have ever had.

The problem I have had with my ASUS 8800GT has been with device drivers.

Last night I reinstalled the latest nVidia drivers and had a driver not responding crash again within 10 mins.

I followed my adviced again from above (see below) and played for the rest of the evening (4hours or so) with nothing. Change the drivers people.

Edit: So that you know the game runs smooth (lowest I have seen the FPS drop is in a big 8 man team and then it only drops to about 43 from 60).

I can play crysis on high settings with no problems and no crashing. Same goes for Call of Duty 4.

It only appears to crash whilst playing CoH.

THE SOLUTION THAT HAS WORKED FOR ME SINCE THE 11th JULY AND AGAIN LAST NIGHT AFTER TRYING NEW NVIDIA DRIVERS

Then whilst in safe mode I installed the latest Omega Drivers (I downloaded them previously from here. At this point I should really point out that these drivers are unsupported by nVidia and if you have any worries about using them you probbably shouldn't) The reason I installed them whilst in safe mode is that Vista installs some stuff for the 8800 when it starts up and wanted to make sure I was using the omega drivers for all of the software.

Restarted my machine, and am running the game on max settings with 60fps and so far no crashes.

If the crash number changes I will post in here.

All that happens now is occasionally ( I mean like 5 times since the 11th July) is that the screen freezes for a second or two. I see the Vista circle thing running. I think I have crashed and then it continues to play as normal.

Thats implying people play for the drops only and not the xp.

If they playing for xp then the time taken to accrue drops is negligable as they werent there for those in the first place and are just an extra little bonus, like finding a shrunken 10p on the floor

Sounds like a profit to me, however a smaller one than 6 months ago

about 6 months ago this Thread was started and got very heated among some of us.

We are now 6 momnths on from this and I would like to say that those that predicted salvage prices would fall from this were correct.

Yesterday I got dropped a Mu Vestment and a Black Blood of the Mandate. These used to sell for 2 - 3 million inf each, and yesterday they sold for 600,000 and 60,000 inf respectively.

No point to this thread apart from pointing out that some people who seemed to be so anti-farming to the point of it must be removed and stopped at all costs were wrong as we now all benifit

Paid with a Meastro card on the 2nd July. If there is going to be a problem Play NC should email every single customer that pays with this method to explain what is happening.

If they dont and then payment is stopped then PlayNC are doing a major misservice to there customers and I would realy think about leaving and going to a company that values its customers enough to inform them of little changes.

The atlas safeguard (the one u get in Kings) give the raptor pack from lvl 6 to lvl 10. At lvl 5 you will not be rewarded the temp power.

The jump pack comes from the safeguard mission that is acceptable from Steel Canyon.

At lvl 10 you have a 50/50 chance of being offered the safegaurd mission for the level 6 -10 range or the safeguard mission from the lvl 10 - 15 range.
