    I may have missed it.

I know we'll be able to play MS arcs co-op.

Will we also be able to simply play cross faction?

That is, will Heros be able to play Villain stories without having to team with Villains, and vice versa?

    [/ QUOTE ]Yes

[/ QUOTE ]Obviously I did miss it. Where is that? (I'm compiling all the redname answers for my personal reference.)

    Thank you.

What happens to arcs if the player who created them goes inactive?

Can trial accounts use the MA? ( Better not... )

I'm still on my first cup of coffee, and haven't been able to kindle the CT reactor yet this morning, so apologies if it's obvious to everyone but me, but what am I missing? What's the problem with letting trial accounts use the MA?

Freak Slicer: Oh no! It's Captain Dynamic!
Tank Smasher: Don't worry! We'll mop the floor with him! He can't afford all the best enhancements like he could if he'd only bought 10 million influence from www.stupidgoldsellingwebsite.com for only $10!

[/ QUOTE ]Ah, yes, now it's obvious. Thank you.

I think it may be time to create Captain Oblivious!

Too much freedom. Since where only getting the illusion of "build and create". And in turn not not becoming our own GM's, in our own Missions. Its nice to have customizable missions but, if your going to attempt to give us real freedom, We should have GM power in OUR own missions. Why restrict our own mission power?.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    ....huh?

We're getting custom missions. Where we can create custom AV/Heroes. And custom villain and hero groups, with custom minions, custom lieutenants, custom bosses, custom dialogue, custom objectives, betrayals by the people who you're rescuing, adjustable names, flavor text, powers and abilities.

What in God's name do you need to feel like you're being given "GM power?" The I-Win command? The ability to have rocks fall and kill all the players in your game? A function that makes you lattes and serves you cheetos every time someone rates your story arc four stars or above?

    Seriously. Dude.

[/ QUOTE ]I've seen others express the same thing. They want to be able to alter the mission in real time, as people are playing it. They want to be able to make it an actual, real-time GM vs. Players RPG. Of course, how this would work if the GM player isn't on, I have no idea.

I gotta admit, though, even across all the threads, there's been very little Whine and Doom.

I've gone from "meh" to actual interest in this. Not to create my own stories, but to see what other people put up.

I'm surprised no one has picked up on this:

    5. Can you talk more about Dev Choice vs. Hall of Fame?
    ...
    3. We also have a third tier of stories which we will talk about at a later date.

    [/ QUOTE ]

PURE BASELESS RAMPANT SPECULATION FOLLOWS (i.e. the usual)

Maybe some missions will be ... real? In some sense of the word or another.

[/ QUOTE ][Posting before I've caught up, so apologies if appropriate]

I've seen more than one mention, including by a redname (I think it was Pohsyb, but I'm not sure), that stories that they deem appropriate will become part of the actual canon. I expect that's the "third tier".
  7. One question I have that I haven't seen answered:

If we get into an MA mission that turns out to be "Rescue the 25 Fusionette clones", can we abandon it as cleanly as we can an Ouroboros mission? Will we be able to just quit (and not get the shiny, of course), and not have to use Drop Mission, or have an uncompleted mission in our list?

Window opacity can not be saved, and resets upon zoning or opening the settings window.

[/ QUOTE ]Happens on several of my characters, too. I've had several long, fruitless discussions with support. I even tried moving a character to another server, create a new one in the now-empty slot, move other character back. Window opacity problem followed the character both over and back.

The problem is getting the physics effects to be rendered identically across all players. Right now, all physics bits are done locally and then the actual position of the object is later aligned to what the server says.

It usually comes out to about the same thing, but there's no guarantees, unfortunately. Lag or deficient hardware can verily mess with it and ruin one's BRB experience.

It pretty much can't be done for the same reason that everyone sees different objects being thrown by Propel.

[/ QUOTE ]So when I smash the gate off the frame near Sister Psyche in IP, and kick it around the street for a while, no one else sees that?

    <pout>

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope, only you see it. The server doesn't keep track of its location. When it comes into view for a certain player, it spawns for that player where it should. If you have interactions with it after that time, then they'll see you hit it, but there's no guarantee that their client's calculations will match up with your own.

    [/ QUOTE ]
So how do the propel ball games work? I've never seen one. I've always assumed that it was a Propel object thrown out, and, although it looks different for each player, they were all able to interact with it. If that's the case, then use the same sort of object, but give it a single graphic skin.

Excellent, now please complete the essay question:

The shiny spandex boo-tay and how to make it pop using 4 colors only. You may take the full hour.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Use one color for shading, one for highlights, and the two as the spandex colors?

[/ QUOTE ]Hey, I was just responding to the "How does Illustrator compare to Photoshop?" question, since I work with both professionally (prepress tech at a print shop). I didn't know there was going to be a quiz! Okay, here goes:

I'd find a bootay picture I wanted to work from, and scan it if it wasn't already digital. I'd then use PS to simplify the colors and get it down to 4 shades, pull that into Illustrator and start tracing manually with the pen tool, simplifying and smoothing the curves. (I'm not a very good original artist, but I'm pretty comfortable as long as I have some kind of existing art as a starting point.)

I pick a base color for the spandex, using a lighter and darker shade of it for highlights and shadows, and use a pure black for the cartoon/comic style outlining.

I know that coloring is bass-ackwards from comic book style, but I'm also not a comic book artist. I recently had to produce an eggplant and a sundried tomato to match the stylized, almost comic-book style of the veggies already in a customer's art, and that's how I did it.

Customer was happy, so I guess I done good enough.

    Wow. Go Vets!

I'm just past 15 months, so I have no idea if I (or even this version of the game) will be here in another four years, and I am so freakin' jealous! That 60month reward is easily the best one on the list, at least from my viewpoint.

I don't think that we "young'uns" are "entitled" to be given some way to get the vet rewards, I recognize that they are a "thank you" for contributing to the existence of the game for so long. But this is the first one that's really made me go "WANT! WANT! WANT!!!"

I haven't read the whole thread (it went from 4 pages to 20 (at 25/page) while I wasn't looking, so I don't know if this has already been covered. If so, I apologize for my laziness.

With the 60-month reward, the ENTIRE travel pool unlocks at level 6, right? Has it been clarified, do you still have to take prerequisites? Or can you take, say, Group Fly at level 6?

Obviously, this is purely an intellectual exercise for me, but I am curious.
  18. I'd try it this time around.
