Need Opinions on Eyewear for Costume
I think the blast goggles definitely DO work.
There is a bit of a dissocnnect with the look, as if the low tech goggles and the hi-tech costume should not work but they DO. It loos nice I think, like a lot of Cyber-punk stuff seems to work when at first glance it shouldn't.
If your striving for a more unified look to the whole I would say try the wraps or even one of the visors. I personally think it would make the costume slightly less interesting to look at though. Hell, I might even try taking the goggles as they are and actually making the frames brown. Just to see what would happen to throw an even more realistic look to them.
I like it very much as is.
P.S. I'd love to see thw cyber belt on that costume though, just to see...
I wouldnt change a thing. That costume looks awsome.

I think so too. I like the goggles, they're a lot of fun. Goggles up give a feeling of 'well, I'm off duty- HEY!' While having them down is more 'serious business'. I like them both.
Why do you not have both?
Please read my FEAR/Portal/HalfLife Fan Fiction!
Repurposed
Keep the goggles.

I must agree quite wholeheartedly with this post in it's entirety.
They look fairly :awesome: together, dear sir, and t'would almost be a disservice to lose them and break the combo!
Excellent, thank you both!
And which belt do you mean, Powerforge? Cyborg? Here's what the cyborg one looks like. [link] I kind of think it unbalances things. I chose the V before because it broke up all of the blue.
Also, I tried making the frames a darker color, such as brown, and it blends in way too much with the hair. It looked kind of crappy. I'm still unsure about if I want a different set of goggles, but you make a great point about them not being too matchy-matchy.
EDIT: Hah! There were a few more replies while I was getting that screenshot. I'm glad you folks like it, and thank you very much for the replies! I find it hilarious that this thread got a ton of replies in just an hour or two, but a thread I made in the Kheldian forum 5 days ago doesn't have a single one. Thanks again!
I forgot to mention, too, that he's an elec blaster who keeps Charged Armor on along with elec fists aura in a similar color. All of the zappiness makes the blast goggles justifiable.
Sorry to double-post, but I just wanted to mention how awesome the retro one looks with the type of two-color costumes I tend to make. That's the one with the wide octagon in the middle and the squares with the circles in the middle that go around the rest of it. It looks perfect with this outfit. I'll edit this post with a picture as soon as I can get at my PC.
EDIT: Here it is! Again, my personal coppermine gallery.
The only reason I use Galactic Glasses instead of Goggles sometimes is they have that great reflection graphic if your PC settings are on high. With the right colors they can kind of shine.
When you see yourself in a crowded room / do your fingers itch, are you pistol-whipped
Will you step in line or release the glitch / can you fall asleep with a panic switch
I noticed that on my PC last night, actually. The Prestige (valkyrie) Wings kind of do the same thing.
Hey there! I know that a lot of the best costume designers hang out in this forum, so I thought this would be the best place to ask for some design advice.
My long-time main, Tenacious T, recently had a big costume overhaul. These images are on my personal coppermine gallery. Here's his old costume [link].
And an action shot [link].
I'm very happy with the new costume [link].
And here's a close-up [link].
I'm not sure about the eyewear, though. Do the blast goggles work? I do want to keep the thorn mask, hair, and goatee the way they are, but I'm not sure about the eyes. I was considering the wraps, or maybe even some of the other, bigger goggles like squadron. What do you folks think? Thanks for your help!
