  1. Yes, you can slot anything else but the Numina IO you just slotted.

If you want to put a Numina: Heal and a Miracle: Heal both in Health, you can.

(I do note that that wouldn't be a particularly good idea, since that would be the same as two basic Heal IOs, and a lot more expensive...but you can do it.)
  2. most sets have 6 pieces. What it's saying is that, for example, Positron's Blast Accuracy/Damage can only be slotted once in any given power...but you can also slot Posi's Blast Damage/Range, Posi's Blast Damage/Recharge, and the Chance for Energy Damage proc to get the 4-set bonus.

You can also slot Posi's Blast Acc/Dam in several different powers, if you want. What you *can't* do is slot it twice in one power.

    Does that help?

    And happy birthday!

At least show us the true rating or a breakdown of them. This guessing game got old a long time ago.

[/ QUOTE ]Then the crying would switch to "Wah, wah! 4 people gave me 1 star! They must be griefing!"

Just get over the fact that some people might legitimately dislike your arc. Dropping from 5 stars to 4 is very easy, if you were very close to the edge between the two, as already proven in this thread. It might be griefing, but it also could very well be that your arc needs improvement.

If only someone with a redname had spoken in the past to confirm what TD has said.

[/ QUOTE ]I'm pretty sure it's been purged by now, but Castle did. He said something to the effect of if it was his choice, he would get rid of them, because of how overpowered they are, and the only reason he lets them stay as they are now is that they're balanced by being in PvP zones.

It was during the I13 Open Beta, iirc.

Too many ellipses! This one's my pet peeve. I see the occasional post, usually in all lower case, where they seem to have been taught that all sentences end with not one period but three.

[/ QUOTE ]The ellipses were there to signify missing words, which is perfectly fine.

Because people won't invite you to do it unless you've come prepared with Shivans and nukes.

[/ QUOTE ]I've seen many advertised, on many different servers, and never once have I seen "Shivans and nukes mandatory". And the runs I've been on did just fine without them, too.

    Summon Khledian? HELL YES

Up to 3 Novas at first, and then you get Dwarf Forms as the second pet, and then Light Form as the final...anyone else see merit in this?

The Riechman SF is the longest, most difficult and yet extremely boring TF/SF I have ever ran. Took a preety good pug team 2 1/2 hours. The last mission took over an hour. I hope the big boss is bugged, cause that [censored] was crazy hard for 20 merits. Leading multiple NPCs thru a huge cave map is just annoying and the AV was like soloing a Pylon. Don't plan on EVER running this SF again.

Happy Anniversary! pffft...what a joke of an issue.

[/ QUOTE ]Yes...God forbid they actually put something in the game that's a *challenge*. 20 merits does sound low from what I've heard, but it's not as if that'll never change. Once they have a good idea of how long it's taking people to finish, they'll adjust as needed.

And if 2.5 hours is a long TF for you, I have to wonder what TFs you've done.

Hasn't history in this game proven over and over and over: you will get your testing done by all of us (free) when you rush to live; I expected a couple more patches and downtime this week as you correct many of the issues that will creep up.

Now, the "team" has locked out the public, and it likely will still need some patching later this week once the general populace has at it.

Whatever, I've already pre-ordered the next MMO... just living out my last months of pre-paid for this game.

Good luck to all the cheerleaders who are left here, I'm sure it'll be oodles of fun and excitement for years to come for you all.

    -r0y

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Right!

Because 1 Test server is the same thing as 11 Live servers!

    Hang on...no, that was sarcasm.

I'm as frustrated that my server isn't up yet as the next person in the same situation, but what you said was a bit silly.

Try it again...with more cow bell.

[/ QUOTE ]Yaknow, a month or two ago, I was talking with my friend who plays that one MMO that has 12 million or so people. He mentioned that after the major patch they had, they essentially had screwed up a major portion of the game...and thus had downtime of about 17 hours straight. Then, even more downtime the next day, when they had failed to completely fix the issue.

In short: Don't expect your new shiny MMO to never have downtime. Problems happen. Get over yourself, and find something else to do while waiting.

Again thank you to the haters out there. I enjoy your letters. I enjoy erasing your letters. In fact, the next person who harasses me is going to get a letter themselves. With a notice about their harassment. So think about.

As I said I am not going to handle this out in public or put anything up for the trolls to read. The character is gone. End of story. I've taken the actual advice that the rational people here have given. If you want to continue to hate on myself, my friends or my characters I will look at you each sadly and walk away.

Thank you to those who have been a voice of reason here. I appreciate it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah. Sorry but I find it highly unlikely that anyone here is sending you hate mail. If you have recieved any PM's that you find offensive then you should petition them to the mods. Threatening to send a nasty letter back if you get anymore lowers you to their level.

I also question your definition of the word hate. Disbelieving accusations of highly suspect behaviour without evidence to back it up doesn't come anywhere close to being hate. If the letters contain more than that you will need to provide proof.

It's easy to make accusations and refuse to provide proof that doesn't exist. If you honestly wanted to keep this out of the public eye you never would have posted in this thread in the first place.

You got caught doing something wrong and you were held accountable for it. If you want to fight that decision you have been told what steps to take.

[/ QUOTE ]Pretty much exactly my reaction.

And the "I'm right, and anyone that disagrees with me is a troll!" attitude only makes the feeling that you're just out for attention even stronger.

I try to visit the forums once a week.

[/ QUOTE ]So then you missed the announcement of the festivites last week?

    [ QUOTE ]
Unlike some people, I do not walk around with my personal computer strapped to my rump, fervently waiting for the next big news about COH to enlighten my life. I actually work long hours, have a real life to live, and responsibilities that leave me very little time to enjoy the pleasures of my heroes, and with what little time i do have, I spend it actually PLAYING and not lurking in the forums.

[/ QUOTE ]Get off your high horse. You're not the only one with responsibilities, a job, and all that. But plenty of people managed to take the 10 seconds it takes to check the announcements, or the City main page, to see if anything new had been announced.

    [ QUOTE ]
I already said that the coh launcher has always been used to announce events, and was not used this time.

[/ QUOTE ]And what if it was? You'd just be complaining about that, too. "They put it in the launcher, but they only did it 1 day before! DEVS HAET AUSTRALIA!"

    [ QUOTE ]
They could have just done the same thing as the scheduled rikti raids, and announce various week days that the event takes place with varying hours, so at least a greater portion of the player base might get a chance to enjoy the event.

[/ QUOTE ]And how would that make it an Anniversary event?

    [ QUOTE ]
They could run one at the time that they start work, and in the last hour before they finish work, that way those on the other side of the planet might somehow be able to join in the fun.

[/ QUOTE ]So...approximately the same exact time the event ran. What's your complaint again?

    [ QUOTE ]
It's like there was a fun party with all the cool devs, and they only invited the USA and told the other half of the planet to bugger off. The events always revolve around what suits the USA, and I do understand a large chunk of the player base lives there along with all the devs; but they have always made efforts in the past to include more time windows and dates for such events. Having to log in at 4am or take leave from work to play a game is sadly not possible for me.

[/ QUOTE ]Did you miss the people in this thread from non-USA countries that said they attended? It lasted for 13 hours. Unless you have an especially long workday, there would be opportunity for you to take part no matter where in the world you lived, if you really wanted to. And you know what? People all over the world *did* take part.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
...why? Go read the Announcements section, loads and loads of publicity on this event, the new studio name, the Steam launch... Same goes for the COH front page.

Not Marketing's fault if, you know, you didn't read it.

[/ QUOTE ]Not to mention the e-mails they sent out...
  17. [ QUOTE ]
this is very dissappointing, I expect pure madness today sadly. I only want to log on and secure my base setting. Will permissions be set high or low for base storage, meaning will the storage allow low ranking members access til it is raised or will be it set to leader access only? I am worried

[/ QUOTE ]IIRC, all storage is set to Leader Only.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
While I don't think there's much sense complaining about not being updated (mainly because people know when they've dropped the ball) I also don't think there's much point in defending them (because they dropped the ball).

[/ QUOTE ]How did they "drop the ball"? They gave an estimate, and said it could possibly take longer. There's no way for them to know how the Test build will interact with the live servers until it's on live. This is in no way their fault...or at least not in any way they could have reasonably forseen.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
    You deserve nothing.

[/ QUOTE ]You do realize this is a business and we're all paying costumers, right? So, don't say the player base deserves nothing. Infuriating costumers when competition is looming after a 5 year monopoly on a market is never wise in any business venture.

    [/ QUOTE ]...

You really think they're intentionally infuriating customers? They're trying to get the servers up and working. The vast, vast majority of the players know this...and would rather the devs do this, rather than waste time just saying "Shut the **** up and stop whining! We're working on it!" I was not saying that the fan-base deserves nothing...but rather that Punky and his over-inflated sense of self-worth don't deserve everything he demands just because he happens to pay $15 a month.

Read the EULA. There's no guarantee that the servers will be up 24/7.

Besides...what do you want, 10 cents for the few hours its been down?
  20. Note that part where they said they reserve the right to keep them down for as long as it takes. 5 hours was just a ballpark.

You deserve nothing. The devs are doing what they should be doing...getting the servers back up and running.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
I must be in some really weird supergroups if everyone is worried about this new rank...I don't think ANY of my SGs are going to be impacted at all, even those with multiple co-leaders. It's just a rank. It doesn't mean much beyond that to any of us.

[/ QUOTE ]Pretty much exactly the thought I had. All of the SGs I'm in have multiple leaders...and it doesn't really matter to any of us who gets the Super-Leader position. Even with multiple leaders, it's not like the Rank 5s are now powerless...so they can still share leadership with the Rank 6.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Im not going to read this whole thread. Should I or should I not respec out a set of Expedient Reinforcements from my Dark Extractions on my WS?

[/ QUOTE ]It depends on what you have them in there for. I have a set in there for the recharge bonus, and for the recharge. The more fluffies out the better, I say.

If you were just putting it in there just so your Fluffy can fire faster...then by all means, respec it out. But keep in mind that the recharge still is helping you get Fluffies out faster.

    • Pet Powers Change:
o Recharge times on pet attack powers will no longer be affected by any outside source. This includes buffs and debuffs. What this means is that pets can no longer have the recharge time on their powers increased by player buffs (like Speed Boost) or their recharge time decreased by player or NPC debuffs. This change was made to allow pets to correctly cycle through their attacks instead of getting locked on using the same attack over and over and neglecting to use other available powers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've already bugged this on Test but this is not working for Grave Knights. They still stand back, pull out their swords and spam Dark Blast and Gloom unless a mob comes in melee range or I move the pets within melee range. And even then melee is sporatic. I've seen them stand on top of the mob and use ranged attacks rather than melee. So this fix is not working for Grave Knights.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So much for the "buff".... But I'm sure the nerf part will work as planned.

[/ QUOTE ]Yes, because one person saying that it didn't work is proof positive! *rolls eyes*

My experiences aren't proof positive either, but this change works wonders for my Grave Knights on test. I've seen a lot more Siphon Life (in general, even...it was sporadic at best on Live), and I see Headsplitter more than once every 30 minutes like I did before. There's still the occasional hiccup, but I no longer have to babysit them for them to be competent.
  24. But the real question is how many people will actually notice. In the few times I've teamed with a Kin on my MM, I definitely noticed the movement speed increase...but I didn't notice any particular speed increase in their attacks. That's not to say it wasn't there, but I didn't notice any difference with the added recharge.

Maybe I'm not very observant...I dunno. But I have a hard time believing that this is going to lead to masses of confused people.
  25. [ QUOTE ]
Though honestly it is more of a nerf than a buff......

    >>
    <<

    what?

[/ QUOTE ]The nerf/buff ratio varies on who you're talking to, and what toons that person has, obviously. But to call this change a flat-out buff or flat-out debuff is flat-out wrong.

    [ QUOTE ]
Which do you think represents a greater number of players? Those savvy enough to realize that slotting multi-aspect IO's with recharge into pets would increase the recharge rate of the pets? Or the mythical "casual" player that reads the description of two common and popular buffing powers, Accelerate Metabolism & Speed Boost, and uses them "as intended" to buff pets?

[/ QUOTE ]I believe that the majority of players think that recharge placed into pets increase the recharge rate of the pet power, not the pet's powers. That's the way it works for all other powers, so thinking that it does for the pet power is fairly intiuitive. There's nothing to say that it also buffs the powers of the pets, so unless they have a lot of recharge to make a noticeable difference, it would go unnoticed.

As for AM and SB, the majority of pet users don't have these powers available to them. MMs don't have either set, and while /kin and /rad may be popular, the other secondaries for controllers are just as popular (to varying degrees, at least).

So we're talking about the likelihood of someone knowing that recharge affected the powers of the pet, *and* that they had a meaningful way to buff that recharge. Since Hasten isn't nearly as popular with controllers as it is with other archetypes, the number of people that will even notice this change is pretty low.

    [ QUOTE ]
I'm sorry, but no matter how I look at the positive aspects of this, the wide-ranging and completely counter-intuitive removal of external recharge buffs on pets is a big negative. It affects a much greater number of players, and makes it harder for new & inexperienced players to understand the game mechanics.

[/ QUOTE ]I agree that it would be nice if SB and AM were able to affect pets. But how is "recharge in pet powers decreases recharge of the pet's powers" intuitive? How is "Your pets inherit your hasten" intuitive?
