  1. They could always make two versions of the Gun/Sword combo. They could make a version that is for Melee ATs and contains more sword powers than pistol and Ranged AT version that has more pistol powers than sword.

For example for Melee ATs would get Sword and Pistol which could be:
    1) Chop (ST Melee Moderate Damage, -Def)
    2) Pistol Whip (ST Melee Minor Damage, Stun)
    3) Slice (Cone Melee Moderate Damage, -Def)
    4) Build Up (Scrappers, Brutes, Stalkers), Taunt (Tankers)
    5) Rapid Shot (Cone Ranged Moderate Damage, Knockdown)
    6) Taunt (Brute), Confront (Scrapper), Placate (Stalker), Build Up (Tankers)
    7) Disembowel (ST Melee High Damage, -Def, Knock Up)
    8) Executioners Shot (ST Ranged High Damage, Close(60ft?), Knockdown)
    9) All out Attack (PBAoE, High Damage Melee -Def, Moderate Damage Close Knockdown) - split damage like Lightning Rod

And for Ranged ATs would get Pistol and Sword which could be:
    1) Quick Shot (ST Minor Ranged Damage, quick recharge)
    2) Aimed Shot (ST Moderate Ranged Damage, knockdown)
    3) Rapid Shot (Cone Moderate Ranged Damage, Knockdown)
    4) Hack (ST High Melee Damage, -Def)
    5) Build Up
    6) Slice (Cone Melee Moderate Damage, -Def)
    7) Executioners Shot (Close, High Damage, Knockdown)
    8) Piercing Round (Close Narrow Cone, High Damage, -Res)
    9) All out Attack (PBAoE, Moderate Damage Melee -Def, High Damage Close Knockdown) - split damage like Lightning Rod

Ive borrowed attacks from existing sets so names etc could be changed to make it more balanced.
  2. Just been thinking about the whole possible return of Omega with all the referrences people have spotted this episode (I will admit I missed them).

What if the quote 'Silence will fall' from Matt Smith's first season isn't about the the Silence coming at all. What if we turned it on its head and it means that the Silence will fall as in they will be defeated. All the badies could have been fortelling the Doctor's defeat of the Silence this episode??

What if the Silence were working, although in a selfish manipulate the human race sort of way, to prevent the return of Omega? It was established that Amy was replaced somewhere between the end of the last season when she got pregnant on her wedding night and beginning of season 6 so it raises the question about why would the Silence want to capture a ganger of Amy?? It was originally theorised they are the ones who inpregnanted her, but that isn't the case.

I think that the Silence wanted baby River Song for themselves, possibly to stop the return of Omega?

Or even if there is no plans to bring Omega back it could possibly be that the Silence are still trying to fight Kovarian in someway or have some other intentions. Perhaps the Silence are present throughout the universe?

I don't know - not entirely got it all connected in my head but just rewatching the last season with knowledge of this season has made me look at things a bit differently!

In the episode "The Doctor's Daughter" David Tennant's Doctor said he 'was a Dad once' suggesting he at least had children before, although he doesn't necessarily need to be married for that!
  4. Ive got a Assault/Trick Arrow Corruptor at lvl 23 and it is a fun toon to play. It is very busy but is good. I have played with builds before for this and found because of the AoE nature of it can be diffcult to build for Ranged defence. I know you don't have Mids but I had a play around and came up with this (I wouldn't say this is a lvling build) and would be quite expensive. It has Smashing/Lethal Defence at 36%, Ranged Defence at 34% (so both one Insp away from Soft Cap) and has 71% recharge.

I would go Cardiac to help control endurance management a bit more but also the boost to range will make your cone attacks more effective.

I went Mace Mastery two reasons - Scorpion Shield for the Smashing/Lethal Defence and Web Envelope which will keep things at range. With the idea to keep mobs away from you I didn't see the melee centric APPs of much use (except for maybe Mass Hypnosis and Telekinesis from Psychic Master).

I don't have much experience with hte other Incarnate powers so won't comment

Ah I had forgotten about that!

Plus if it was, if the Doctor's DNA was used, it would mean River is his daughter, and sort of preclude a romantic relationship, unless another DNA source was used.
    2) Longterm exposure to the TARDIS, means a chance of a companion has a chance of siring a 1/2 TL, unlikely since it would mean that there should be a number of 1/2 TL's running around out there based on the number of companions the Doctor has had.
    3) When the universe got rebooted, Rory was recreated as a TL( in his own way, he has already has had three incarnations, Rory before being erased from time, Rory the Nestine, and post universial reboot Rory)
    4) Either Rory or Amy were already TLs. I actually like this idea. My thought here is, that before Gallifrey's destruction, one or more Gallifreyan children were sent out and hidden. It would sort of explain the effort to get Amy's child specifically.

I do hope the Eyepatch Lady does ultimately end up being the Rani.
They did explain it in the episode, you had it right with number two. Just before the Headless Monks attacked the Doctor was walking in the control room and they explained that the Timelords became who they were through long term exposure to the time vortex. The reason why Melody/River/Amy's kid is part timelord is because she was conceived while on the Tardis (i.e. Rory's and Amy's wedding night). It would be a lot easier to 'mutate' (for lack of a better word) an undeveloped handful of cells that is a fetus than it would be fully grown adult.

On top of that they have said that people who travel in time are affected by it. If you look at the Torchwood episodes that features Martha Jones (Reset and Dead Man Walking). Martha was captured and given the Reset parasite because they found her to have a unique immune system and mutated red blood cells due to her exposure to time travel!

You are most probably right but I just have something in the back of my head that is niggling slightly. Something to do with the revelation of River being Amy's daughter and the Doctor already knowing how River dies just doesn't sit right.

I know they have already mentioned in a previous episode that River knows that when the Doctor meets her for the first time it will be her last. I just hope they address this bit of knowledge that must be eating at the doctor in some shape or form.

But then again in another episode River has said she has a spotters guide for the Doctors so suggesting she is around for a number of regenerations and we've only had two so they have plenty of time to address it.

Oh Mr Moffit - why do you tease us so!
  8. Great episode

    SPOILERS

Interesting twist with River, Amy etc and it explains why River couldn't be there during the bulk of the episode (crossing time streams).

What does it mean for the future? They could lots of stuff with River growing up so introduce her with a different actress and temprement.

And does it mean that River may have regenerated after the Library episode way back when??
  9. Hi everyone

This month the tanker tour is going to be on Union - Saturday 25th June 8pm BST/9pm CET

If any Unionites could post this on an appropriate global channel closer to the time I would be grateful as I am not that familiar with them
  10. Im happy to play on Union - Ive got a lvl 33 Inv/Fire tank there I can play. However I don't know which chat channels to advertise on! :S
  11. Well this is my creation from the Steam Punk pack. Mostly used the pieces as a whole but really liked how the Breather and Goggles gave her a Sandman look and oddly how well the Vanguard Shield works with it all.

I will echo this - with Maneuvers, Combat Jumping, Steamy Mist, Steadfast Protection +Def and with Rock Armour all 3 slotted with Defence SOs you can hit 38% smashing/lethal defence (36% with Scorpion Shield or Ice Shield).

On my Grav/Storm I have ~40.5% Smashing Lethal Defence (it would be higher but I don't have a slot Maneuvers properly) and it makes a lot of difference even though I am not soft capped.

If you don't have the slots to go this way (or you wanted to go with a different APP/PPP) then Assault can be one slotted with an Endurance Red. and you are done and you will happily get nice little damage bonus.
  14. I'll just say I would love it to be 1 for 1, but with the exchange rate they have given for Notices of the Well recently I just feel if they did A Merits for E Merits it would be 2A=1E

    A Notice of the Well = 40 merits = 2 E Merits

You can get one Notice of the Well every 168 hours. If the exchange rate is 2 A Merits = 1 E merit is 80 hours as Zortel says, then for 2 E Merits its 160 hours so it works out roughly the same.

Like I said its not that I want this exchange rate - Im just going by what the Devs are already giving us.
  15. I would like to see this happen as well, however I reckon it won't be 1 AM = 1 EM.

I can see it being more like 2 AM = 1 EM with 1 AM = x Astral Merits. What x will be I don't have a clue.
  16. Great episode!

Also didn't someone said that the Flesh Doctor's moleculure makeup may survive the whole incident with the melting and explosion?
  17. Just want to say thanks to the European players coming to the first International Tanker Tour. I think we had about 18 players in the end from all over the world including Europe, NA and Australia! There was a team that ran a Posi TF 1&2, a team that ran a Synapse TF and a leveling mission team.

I had great fun and hope others did too

And I hope, along with Nuclear Medicine, that we can organise some more fo these

Thanks everyone for coming last night - I had great fun running the Tips missions, apart from the near wipe we had involving some Freaks, some Malta and Blast Furnace (I honestly didn't see them all chargining into the room!! hehe) we were steamrolling through most stuff

There are only 2 recharge powers in Kinetics, Siphon Speed and Speed Boost. Siphon Speed has only ever affected the caster (so even Controller pets don't benefit from it) and will help with the up time of Transfusion, Transference, Siphon Power and Fulcram Shift. It will also help with long recharge Powers such Repair, Hell on Earth, Serum, Soul Extraction and Gang War. Speed Boosted pets will still get the benefits on the +recovery (as Jay says) which I know some pets need (Protector Bots come to mind).

So that leaves Transfusion which is a strong heal, Siphon Power to boost damage along with Fulcrum Shift (as Chad says) and again more endurance recovery with Transference. Masterminds might actually get some use out of Repel for self protection and Inertial Reduction could be a pseudo travel power.

I thought the same Jay when I was thinking about all the proliferation options but then with Going Rogue you can get Defenders that started in Praetoria and were a self centred Loyalist and then went Redside. So you can get evil Empaths now and the same for good Pain Doms. I also personally think that the sets are different enough that they wouldn't be repeating each other if proliferated. Just my personal opinion though
  20. That was great to watch and a good laugh! Glad you guys are recording them as I didn't get to see them previously

Life Drain will likely be replaced because I think it's unlikely that blasters will get a true self-heal in a primary power set.
Ah - I didn't realise that about the Blaster Soul Mastery set

Im not sure about Life Drain - it seems to be a one off amongst all blast sets so it is unique amongst Corruptor primaries and Defender secondaries

The problem with that argument is that Fury generation has changed since they tried to introduce it in CoV beta - it now also builds from attacking as well as being attacked. Also it is easier to build a decent bar or Fury and it degrades slower.

On top of that there is Dark Armour that stops foes attacking with Stuns/Fear, Warmace which stops foes through stuns/knockdown, Energy Melee through stuns, Electric Melee through endurance drain/knockdown, Electric Melee through endurance drain, Dark Melee through fear, Stone Melee through stuns/knockdown, Kinetic Melee with knockdown, Super Strength with knockdown... so a huge chunk of Brute Primaries and a couple secondaries that Brutes still get despite them potentially hindering Fury generation.

My main reason for saying that is Stalkers don't generally get more than one AoE attack, so dropping Combustion for Assassain's Blaze would leave Fire Sword Circle and Breath of Fire.

But then again they do get a pretty much all the AoEs in Electric Melee so it could get FSC and BoF.
