What works best with shields? I was looking to make a /shield toon but I am having trouble deciding between Elec, Fire, or even BS. Was looking to build towards softcapped defenses while giving out a great deal of damage down the line. While Fire and BS are probably over elec for damage, but elec has that nice tier 9 that combos nicely with shield charge. BS I think is still tops in damage but it's lethal. Shield charge into a fire sword circle has benefits as well......
Ugh... Opinions anyone? I've played elec and fire on brutes but how would they fair on a scrapper? -
Bug Report:
When you use the Samurai Chest detail pieces from the vet rewards and a cape, the chest piece crops through the cape in the back on the shoulders. So you can see the top shoulder straps of the armor piece through the cape. This problem occurs with all pieces of the samurai armors.
(Not sure if this was posted before but it is an annoying bug)
And Jay is super Sexy! -
I like the build but noticed you included weave and aid self which is sort of what I had before and the other 2 posters told me not too. lol.
And I wanted to keep the GW powers too tbh.
Ok, tele blast, Subdue, Dominate, Psichic Scream, and Psi tornado are the core attacks for forts right? Or is there any Disagreement on that? -
Ok, Another pass on it to include Dominate and Total Domination Dropping fighting, picking up Maneuvers, Dropping Psychic Scream, and one or two other things I don't quite remember. Anyway, here's the build again:

to Jab: Yes, I don't know why the codes are showing up. It's like that on my end too. Did they change something in the forums that I need to adjust Mids for? However the link does work so if that helps any.
I considered Maneuvers but Weave gives a bigger bonus. Plus with defense toons, I perfer to have Aid self if no other healing option is given. (Something is better than nothing) Plus with it, I hit the soft cap without ML. Without it, my defenses are around 35%, Soft capped with ML for 90 seconds but then stuck at 35 for the time it takes ML to recharge. (Like 180-200 secs.) It'd be easier to knock off mask presence and find slots for Dominate. Would you recommend Total Dominate then? -
I just got my Fortuna in striking range of lvl 50 and starting thinking IOs. I'm not looking to drop a few billion on it, so I don't want purps or the LotG recharge IO. I was leaning towards achieving the soft cap without Mind link (As perma ML is a bit expensive) and this is as far as I got. Looking for a few opinions on if I'm missing anything as right now I'm 45 Melee, 44 Ranged, and 44 AoE. Ws considering trying to fit in Domination and total Domination (As they do feel more controller orientated) but I hear those aren't that good. I know my slotting is iffy too (Too much in certain areas) but not entirely sure where else I would stick the slots. Opinions anyone?

Mind link doesn't accept recharge enhancements but it does accept Defense Buff and ToHit buff enhancements. If I slot it with Defense/ Recharge and ToHit/ Recharge enhancement, will that also increase it's recharge time? Mid's says yes but wanted to be sure I am remembering this right.
-
I've been in that situation before and I had to take alpha at the end of a Khan TF when the team died to Richie. I lasted a good 10 minutes or so but eventually fell as there was still a second AV in play. I did survive long enough for the team to rez up though.
What level is your tank now Werner? Any differences you noticed so far? -
A bit of back character history-
My first 50 was a Kat/ SR scrapper. This was before IO's came out (About 2-3 issues) and it became on of my faves.
Then I made a DB/ SR scrapper like my main Kat one. I didn't get fully into Katana however as the look kinda threw me off. (The lefthanded ness of the set)
Then, on Red side, I built a Elec/ SR Brute and for the most part, I enjoy playing it. (Wish they fix the proc bug on chain shock though)
Then many characters later I am sitting at 3 Scraps, 3 Brutes, and 1 tank (With one at 33) for 50s.
So... Here is where I am wondering how I should go. Originally I was going to go scrapper and be done with it as it's been fun to play. However I've been watching Shield toons and I'm not sure if it's who I've been traveling with or what but they have some addiction to lying on the floor.
So then I'm thinking Tank as they have the higher defense to probably compensate for, what looks like, the somewhat lackluster of shields. But then teams depend on tanks more than they do Scraps and if shields suck for tanks, then that could turn out worse.
As for red side: Widow, Dom, and SoA are next on my build set for that side before I build a fourth brute. Trying to get 50 in every AT here -
I asked on the scrapper forums and I figured I'd ask here as well:
I am planning a shield something for my next build and I was wondering which was better suited for it. Scrappers or Tanks? Any opinions? -

Glinting eye takes the achilles heel proc too.
Also, one thing I have noticed about my PB is Solar Strike costs a LOT of end (Over 18 points) to use it regularly without sucking air, you'd have to lower that quite a bit. -
Since people are talking about bugs not getting fixed and whatnot, any info on the "organ grinders" Ouroboros arc? The contact still won't let anyone pass the first mish and I was hoping it'd get fixed in I15. Stupid Ritki sabotage :P
-
Just a note on the cards at 7-11s... they're reusable and could be loaded at any of them regardless if they got the card themselves or not. Just an fyi thing.

Arc Name: Enter the Taskmaker
Arc ID: 243882
Levels: 40-50
Author global: @Tiger Knight
Difficulty: Medium/ Hard There is an EB and 2 Bosses. Arc is mostly for 40+ toons so SKing up might prove too difficult for lowbes.
Overview: You been out of the Zig for awhile and have made a name for yourself in the Rogue Isles. So much so that Arachnos has really begun to take na interest in you. They send someone out to train you in how to be the best villain you can be. Think you can make the grade? (Minor comedy related) -
Hover I have for the -KB IOs and the -slow IO. Plus I already have 5 attacks (3 of which by level 8) so I am iffy on even taking it.
However I never really looked at darkness mastery... The immobile cone might be something that would for sure increase the usability from burn. I'll have to play with the build to see if it would fit. (It's 3 powers in epic as opposed to 2) -
It is single target hence why I said it was for bosses. Hit them enough times and they stop moving. Move in, Burn, move out web... That's that way I envision it anyway.
I did try caltrops but the time to throw down and set up a burn seemed a bit too long for me. -
I put this up once before and I'm still kind of fine tuning it. I think I got it the way I want it for the most part but I wanted to get opinions on it in case I missed something.
Ok, so the build concept is basically a female version of a martial arts human torch. So I wanted to keep fly over leaping (Even though I know leaping would be better) This is what I had built so far:

I went weapons cause it gives an immobile so I could get the most from burn and bosses. Melee defense because I tend to alpha quite a bit and unless I have them webbed or a troller to lock them down, I don't plan to initiate burn unless I'm getting beat up bad.
So anyway, anyone think I could do any better with anything else? -
Can the effects stack? And is there a time limit between each activation that requires me to wait for the next time it goes around?
-
I am currently working on a WM/ stone brute and I noticed that since I could slot KB enhancements into WM, that it was possible to slot Force Feedback: Chance for +recharge. My question is, exactly how this would work then? Is it every time I attack with the powers slotted, I get a random +100% roll or is it only one roll every X seconds so slotting it in more than one power is pointless?
-
Yeah, that I get. You said SC before and I thought you were talking Short Circuit as it was the only SC power. now it makes sense.

To Shadow: I just don't like ID for how short it is. Seems like as soon as I apply it, it dies. It is just more annoying than a team yelling SB PLEASE! Plus No one ever cares about it. you give it to them and they could care less.... but forget to SB and they'll tear your lungs out. Seriously, if I make sure everyone has SB, then they are all good.

I mostly us it on other Defenders/Controllers that have a similar power. That way at least one of us doesn't get mezzed, preferably both if they reciprocate. (And then only before a fight, I'll kill the mezzers myself before another one is needed.) Other than that, others should count their blessing if they get any such power put on em. Plus the afore mentioned TF situations.
The duration is too damn short. All of them should be 3 to 5 minutes if they are to be buffs, or a tiny casting time if its meant to be a reaction power. (Glares at Clear Mind.)

In a perfect world..... and only in a perfect world. Never happens in the game world with PUGs -

Who cares if the blasters and scrappers do more damage than you. Are you saying more damage is bad? BL, SC under fulcrum shift is gonna do... lets see here...
343 damage with 3 dmg SO's at level 50 assuming capped FS.
It takes a matter of seconds to animate.
How is doing more damage a bad thing? You go into a spawn. Tank/Scrap whatever grabs the alpha, you hit the heal as he's taking the alpha. Run up, FS, launch your two AoE attacks. Kins don't really do much during a battle as their big hitters are applied before the battle starts (SB) and during the first couple of seconds of combat (FS, Trans) with sometimes throwing in a heal.
And the faster the mobs die, the less incoming damage ther is, the less defendering you have to do for your team. That's the whole point of kin/

Is this math right? I don't seem to get that on my end and when I tried it on test, I wasn't doing that type of damage with capped fs. -
Re: ID- It's one of those "Good in this situation" powers imo. It doesn'tprotect from all damage, just smashing and energy. So negative energy (like CoT) and lethal (which is alot) still hurt. So It's a 50/50 thing. I took it on my latest version of the character as a IO mule though. Wasn't thinking about Aegis status protection before.... that would be useful.
RE: Nuke- You know, when I got to work today I kept thinking "what Nuke was he talking about?" then it dawned on me that I wouldn't even have a nuke and thought that maybe you meant the teir 9 for electric. But that was more like Rain of arrows than a nuke. So it's kinda good you mention that you were a little confused cause I was really confused. lol
RE: Siphon power- I like it simply cause it helps on Posi and Synapse where your team isn't the best as it was already. I keep it mainly for that reason. -
Also....
to Neogum: Not looking for damage from Short Circuit. It is mainly for it's -recovery effect which has helped to paralyze mobs before. Plus I don't travel with tanks often. More like hardly ever... AoE effects tend to grab aggro off the scraps which dumps it all on me. All aggro on me = Dead me.
