One thing tho'... It looks like he's missing a horn that should be showing a bit... He has 3 on the front, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope in that format he has 2 horns. His last 2 costumes have that mohawk of horns, but as you can see on the main reference I posted on the first post, he normaly has only 2 (when he isn't too mad) -
I seem to have Dark and Rock .. I remember seeing Louie .. maybe at home ... I'll have to check. Let me see what I can do about making those available.
-
Hmmm .. no comments at all?
I would have liked a ... well something (I won't give you the answers) ... some opinion on the piece or constructive criticism ... or a simple ... "good for you anyone can do that" ... all good.
Does it at least fit the style? or are there somethings you would have changed?
I could have added more of the dark shadows he has on his organic/stone skin but I thought that would be too much details for the style.
Anyway if you have a sec, a comment would be appreciated. -
Man these pour in ... was finishing my pic of Thorn when you posted this and look how far down I am .. hehe
anyway let me suggest Capt Quebec for this one. He has a nice classical look. You can get more on him on my site in my sig. I will try to get better ones for you when I get home. (still at work) -
A while agon SweetThang was working on some Animated style super heroes. (in this thread actually)
In there he mentions that he had based those on templates from a DC site. Anyway I looked it up and found it interesting and instead of asking / begging to get mine done by him I gave it a crack myself.
So here is Thornster done by me.
You can see my main reference and other Thornster screenshots in these links.
Ok just because I have been around these boards long enough to anticipate the first reaction, I will let you know that this took me like ... 8 hours, so no I'm not taking requests. This was just an exercise for fun.
(I used Corel Draw and did it all with vectors, same for the shadows then brought both shadow and image on two seperate layer in Corel Paint to multiply and set tranparency)
If you are like me you like to see the process.
Now I know why my toon doesn't get picked first when someone gets inspired to draw. -
I know I have most of the movies pre-feb 2006 (I hate youtube for that ... I can't have my own collection anymore
) but there are alot so do you remember the titles of what you are looking for?
-
After looking at all of them the one that sticks in my mind is Paragon One ... so ... guess I liked it .. hehe
The look was sharp. I know it s a wink to Hero One which is cool ... I love that clasic look ... eventhough I don't use it that much myself. -

oh my god look at the direction the upper body is facing compared to the torso
its so bad
[/ QUOTE ]
You do realize that the right breast is facing us (almost black) and the one in the light is the left one. Right?
And Toxa ... great piece. I love the background ... the lightning and those clouds look wonderful. If you made it ... great job ... if you picked it ... great choice.
I love all the purple reflections on her clothes and the look on her face.
As I was saying ... great job. -
Really cool pose ... again .. not sure what your friend's name is but ... be careful with that pose, the perspective might be a little tricky to duplicate and still look good.
-
if you don't hurry it will ...

Now you guys have me thinking of my own Hero / Archnemesis creation and I'm thinking that I need to write up a deeper version of their bios so their antagonist relationship is way more obvious and less theoretical. -

Okay, I gave it a whirl: Ultimate Static Thunder.

Oooooo ... I really like it ... nice and sleek!
Have you played with the shoulder pieces? ... might get something interesting there. -
They are just luv taps ... nothing painful .. just annoying more than anything (well where I come from anyway) ... a custom that usually fades when you are around 6 or 7 to give you time to forget before you have the strength to fight back .. lol
Happy B-Day Hex! -
Man I love your coloring Graver ... really nice.
(water colors right? ... I know it has been asked and I think that was the answer. Just confirming and beeing amazed.) -

That was really uncalled for.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah...
But it was pretty funny, though...>.>
[/ QUOTE ]
Totally agree on both accounts!
*washes his eyes with a mild acid* -
Really cool piece ... I like how you made sure we could see the features of both toons very clearly. And yeah, as mentionned above, that grass disk is a nice touch especially if she flies.

As many have said : Officially sponsored contests would be great.
An official Gallery of art would be also something I would like to see . It use to exist up to a point but to my knowledge outside of the cuppa jo thing it has not been updated in a long time.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would just take a nice gallery with one or two new pieces a week ... that would be a great start. -
Hey Graver ... did you ever play Everquest? (the original one) because when I joined my guild on Solusek Ro back in June 2000, there was this Bard named .. you guessed it ... Graver .. that had cut down on his play time but was pretty well known ... to the point where this was made in his honor since he ran too fast for his own good at those early stages in that game.
Just thought it would be funny if that were you.
(P.S. Graver is the toon in blue armor jumping off the cliff) -
Wow that massive one is really filling out nicely Juggs. You should throw in a Spines hero in there just for the challenge of drawing one ...
*whistles innocently* -
Really sweet ... those spines sound like they were a pain to make ... well the first anyway ...
I have a spines/* (DA) myself and I love how that main spine out of the hand looks as mean as it should ... -
- Hmmm Thornster, why does the washing machine look like a porcupine?
- Well I was washing my spines ...
- Wha? What for?
- An experiment on temporal relativity based on sound and tumbling ...
- Shuuure ... right ... -
Gratz CB.
Others I really liked in there are the ones by
- LousyDay
- Gollum_ARG
- X-Porter
but I could really named them all since those are some fine work.
Great work everyone. -
Does anyone have a hero that is either gifted with a long life or immortal? TA maybe?
Anyway, the reason I'm asking is that in Capt Quebec's Bio there is a part that reads like this:
===========================
It is said that he is from northern Quebec (Canada) and has come down to Paragon City to lend a hand in these unique times.
Here is an excerpt from a small town newspaper article about this subject:
His mother died after giving birth to him when a plane crashed in the middle of the plains of ice . Not only did the cold not kill him but he was found a 12 hours later giggling butt-naked on an ice patch.
His dad and his new wife, Pauline, were loving, caring parents that thought him the value of life. Especially those not gifted like him. It was later discovered that he is able to control the humidity in the air. This seems to be something he was born with.
If it's cold, he can handle it.
===========================
Now this doesn't mention who actually saved him and returned him to his dad. Nor how long it took before his dad got him back. So I was thinking that if we had a long lived hero or an immortal (even States I guess) that hero could be the one that saved him way back when.
I had a vision that Capt aged a little slower than normal so now at 50ish he looks more like 30. So this would have happened sometime in the 60s.
In this peticular case, Capt Quebec's look doesn't really matter since he would be an infant but here is his crey report and image gallery page for reference.
I just thought that some great big hero (or heroine) looking after an infant after a plane crash could be cool. A great hero that has no skills with babies would be hillarious. Know that the kid then becomes one of the protectors of Paragon City sounds really cool to me. That could also be in a nice flashback thingy.
Just an idea. -
Yup I see that now ... about the hair ... as for the clothes ... well ... keep on not wearing any in your art ... less ambiguous ...
-
Some sweet lighting effects in there. Great job!
