Quote:I was planning to come back and add his bio verbatim when I get a chance from my home computer... Sooooo, here it is:But how did he become the hero he is today? Or villain, as the case may or may not be?
As you can see, Chris is rather crazy... but he actually DOES have a talking magical butterfly that follows him around and is not plagued, as most assume, by command hallucinations. He is, however, still crazy because he is willing to take orders from a butterfly!Quote:Originally Posted by Thirty-SevenTranscript of Therapy with Dr. Meg Franken

[Franken] : Chris, lets start off with something you said last session; you said you were a villain.
[Allys] : Honestly, doc, I don't really sit around and think about it. I'm not very introspective you see. I just do as I'm told. Some folks have been rather miffed when I tell 'em their number's up. Ain't my fault exactly.
[F] : Following orders? What exactly do you mean by that?
((At this time, a monarch butterfly lands on a nearby windowsill.))
[A] (To the butterfly) : ...Right, okay. But, ahhh, these sessions are court-ordered Clyde... Uh huh. Yeah, I'll get right on it.
[F] (Baffled) : Are you talking to that butterfly?!
[A] (To Franken) : Yeah, o' course. That would be Clyde. I guess this concludes our session. (Gets up to leave) Clyde says I need to bust some heads. That guy sure has a way with words don't he?
I don't want to start stuff here... but isn't that just a touch "high and mighty" to deign that funny characters aren't worthy to have what are considered a "good bio"?Quote:I was worried this would devolve into what these threads usually devolve into: iPwn, Followed by Ninjas, Deja Vuvuzela and that sort of "joke characters," like that Malibu Ken I ran across the other day. Thank you, Samuraiko, for proving me wrong and restoring my faith

I love this thread already!! :-)
My favorite bio that I have written is a transcript of a tape recorded session of the character with his court-ordered therapist. I find it to be pretty original. -

Yep for Halloween salvage.
Can't wait for the event to start... I love this holiday! -
Hello, RL brother! There isn't really much to see here for folks who aren't a part of our RP group... so, look I guess... but don't touch anything.

Pool powers tend to be rather generic "anyone can have these" type powers... a damage aura is a rather specific variant, I should think. And most come in elemental damage varieties, something that simply does not appear as ANY type of pool power.
Unless you are talking Epics/Patrons... which is a whole 'nother story.
-
Oh, I totally agree it is FAR more logical. It just doesn't seem to do what ordinary revamps do. I would think it might even simply reverse what is happening now: more people take the fears, and some people decide to kick the taunt because they don't want to grab another power they won't use.
-
So... your proposition is shaft those players who take the pool for [Provoke] and assist the somewhat limited number of others who want the fear powers?
I'm not sold on having to take an additional power to get the only one I really wanted from the pool anyway. Adding an additional power does nothing to help that situation. I thought the idea behind a pool revamp was to improve the current situation for everyone? -
Wow... that long ago already? That really shows how old that arc I made is. I just discovered that feature recently when I was helping a friend make a storyarc for our RP SG. Thanks.

Somewhat of a tangent: When did they add the option to re-name a boss's enemy group? That didn't used to be the case. I remember making an arc where I needed Nictus, but wanted them to be part of a custom group... I recall being annoyed with them still needing to be labeled as 'Nictus.'

Adios dude.
Also, I wanted to say that that was probably the best "good-bye" post I have seen. No rage, no stupid, just a good honest "adios." You will be missed Wes/Phil. -

With regard to the question of influence destruction, I have just one question, namely: Isn't the concept of destroying money to cause deflation pointless in a system that is infinite and not finite? What I mean to say is, doesn't that only work when the amount of money has a "cap"? In CoH the system of influence and item creation is open and infinite. In the real world, while gov'ts can surely make more, at any one moment, isn't there a finite and theoretically countable amount of currency and items?

Just so you guys know, the arc has been put back to its proper order, so for those wanting to replay it.... you will have to play the whole thing to get to the last part.
Thanks for the glowing reviews. I take credit for the enemy design and such, but I too have to give some real props and proper credit for the basic design of the story as well as basically ALL of the writing to our buddy Nox. I was consistently impressed how he crafted everything so seamlessly and was able to take my suggestions for aspects and changes to things and mold them in such a way that everything fit and made sense.
Bravo!!
And as for a gaming PC? I really don't do well with hardware stuff. My PC isn't really top of the line or anything, but it does alright. The only thing I really did to it was to add an nVidia GeForce 9600 GT. As far as I know, that particular card is a bit old, but for me, it does the job. Aside from that I couldn't tell ya a heckuva lot. I know that Nox got a pretty shiny Alienware PC... but that thing is ginormous and, probably a bit more expensive than necessary. -

Quote:And the proof of this... is where?Actually that's probably a lot more to do with chinese gold sellers who were PLing people doing that, rather than farming per se. Possibly a semantic explanation but the difference (to me at least) is important
Yes, I know, we can't possibly have access to that kind of proof as players. However, I guess that is why I would never make such a statement, as far as I can tell it is 100% un-verifiable. -

It sounds like exactly what one would expect to happen with a resolution as large as the one you reported in the OP. I don't think there is anything wrong, per se, just that you will have to get used to certain details being smaller.
Also, if you want to take a screen-cap that shows the UI you need to toggle that option on.
To turn that particular toggle on, type: /screenshotui 1
And then, to turn it off, type: /screenshotui 0 -
Yes... I think you are safer, Dire, just coming on back next week.
We are going to correct the issue with the Medics in the second to last mish and then re-order the arc so we can start with mish 4. No one else was in much of a state of awakeness, so we called it quits before the finale ourselves.
Tune in next week, for the exciting conclusion of: Finding Freedom. -
I thought so. It is the name of the plant that grows to the right of our front door. We named the ones in our planters.
You could go the way of naming it after a plant's sexual organs: pistil and stamen.
