A Bug in Architect, or a glitch in my system?

I've created a custom enemy group by picking minions, lts and bosses from an existing group, recoloring them, and naming them something new. I have them set as the default group for the first mission of my arc, but I'm trying to place a final boss of the same group. When I try to choose the "Boss Enemy Group", that custom group doesn't show up, even though all my previous custom groups do.

I've tried logging out and back in, but it still isn't showing up on the list. I know it's not a problem with the group, because I've used that group in other objectives in the same mission.

What's going on?!

...I forgot what experience means.

You can't pick a standard critter from a custom group as an objective. You have to pick your boss from the Standard group he belongs to, then change his group display name and description to match your custom group boss. And recolor him. It's all a big pain, but probably not a bug, just a limitation of the system.

Eva is right about that.

On a related note, sometimes the custom group will not show up in the list for the Surrounding Group. When that happens, try clicking "Edit Custom Group", then exit out of the screen that comes up and now the missing group should be in the list.

Hmm, that puts me in an interesting spot...

I chose enough of the standard group to have at least one minion, one lt and one boss for every level range from 5 to 54, so I was hoping there was some way to have it pick the appropriate level boss from the custom group when the spawn was generated...

Impossible?

Somewhat of a tangent: When did they add the option to re-name a boss's enemy group? That didn't used to be the case. I remember making an arc where I needed Nictus, but wanted them to be part of a custom group... I recall being annoyed with them still needing to be labeled as 'Nictus.'

Issue 15. You can do that for Allies, Escorts, and Hostages as well.

Wow... that long ago already? That really shows how old that arc I made is. I just discovered that feature recently when I was helping a friend make a storyarc for our RP SG. Thanks.

Yep. CheshireCat's "Tomorrownauts" arc even uses it for comedic effect with the recurring boss going from the "Dark Lord of the Moon" to the "Former Dark Lord of the Moon" to "Former Former Dark Lord..." and so on with each mission.

Well crap. Looks like I will have to settle on a narrower level range and hand-pick my boss.

That's generally for the better anyway. Level ranges wider than 10-15 levels tend to have atrocious balancing issues.
