Yeah, I don't see why the Devs should do this... at all. The fact that it is possible to duo-solo a TF at all (not one's skill/slotting/prowess, but the actual ability to kick everyone but you) is more a work-around than anything else. Why would the Devs make it easier to do something that was never intended in the first place?

Quote:While I totally agree with your intent... I disagree with the above reasoning. There is a HUGE chasm of difference between "in-universe logic" and looking at things in a comic as if they were real life. Granted, people don't spit fire, or naturally metabolize items they touch, or shapeshift... but in a universe where those things occur, there is usually still gravity, and thermodynamics, etc. at play for everything BUT the selected action or power (and every other non-powered character). In other words, just because Cyclops can blast stuff out of his eyes does not mean that suddenly he can violate ALL of the other rules of physics.Honestly, the point at which the fire started shooting of the character's body was the point at which common sense had already left the building.

The idea in the OP is still a bad one. I wanted to make sure that is clear. -
Quote:No, it's not just you. And it's not just being newish. I have been playing for well over 3 years and totally agree with you!Rewards which are used to run speed TFs more effectively. It just seems a bit...redundant. I guess it's just my newbie naivete talking.
I hate when TFs are Speed Run. I try not to do them that way when I lead either... but sometimes a person on the team doesn't get that, and does things anyway, (depending on that player's usefulness) they will usually get a warning then a kick from me. Granted, there are some TFs (like those found in the Shards) that are endlessly repetitive and so, to me, it is cool to skip a bit here and shorten something there... but just to run them fast for the sake of being fast is dumb to me. -
Quote:Hmmm, I didn't even have to think about this one. As soon as I read the title I said "Hellz no!" in my head. Upon reading this post... nothing has changed.I suggest that all Team leaders automatically receive a decent XP bonus.
This would help build more teams as more people would be willing to become leaders... I have played for years and often find that people hate the chore of being a leader, but feel that if there were some extra decent benefit for it, more people would be willing to take the job...
If not an XP bonus, perhaps they would earn time towards some cool extra power (similar to what you get when you log off in a "day job" area...).
Thanks! -
There is no such thing as a "dead" server. Also, it is okay to play on other servers... that's why they exist after all. Also also, don't you think that maybe the Devs intend for people to start playing on other servers so that they don't appear to some people to be "dead" anymore?
Also also also, I would love to have more FREE slots added to servers... but could care less if they ever up the max to above 36. I have 31 characters spread over three servers. Of course, I wouldn't complain if they upped the total beyond 36 as it would have, presumably, zero impact on me... I just thought I needed to voice a few things as well. -
WOW! Thank you ever so much for what looks to be a great source of information and a very good direction for me to move toward. I shall have to scrounge a bit, but a good deal of that looks do-able.

Hmmm, that Tip mission thing seems like a pretty good idea, actually.

I dunno how expensive the particular purple sets are that you allude to... but they are likely outside of my fiscal reach.

Quote:I don't really consider it underpowered either... but I don't see many of them around and it seems like if it isn't a */Rad or */Kin or Ill/* or Fire/* it doesn't exist. So I was more commenting on the attitude above than voicing my own opinion.By the way, I don't believe grav/FF is underpowered at all...
I guess I can see where you got that impression... but that isn't really my intention. I would just like some general pointers of what sets might be effective and compliment the Primary/Secondary... I don't require anyone to work up a full build and post it for me. I was just asking for a pointer or two in the right direction.Quote:We have been getting a lot of "Make me a build" requests lately, so those often don't get many (or any) responses. Plus, Grav/FF is not an overly popular combo.
As far as playstyle and such go:- I never PvP... ever.
- I like to team with my in-game friends. Lately, I have been planning to run a bunch of TFs with said group. (Just did an STF recently... [Detention Field] came in handy!)
- I rarely if ever solo with this dude.
- Specifically, I would like a bit more survivability outside of PFF, and a touch more in the area of endurance. I find myself running low after an extended battles (esp. versus a single hard target like the Patrons ).
At the moment, I have a Perf. Shifter proc I picked up a long while back... a full set of one of each slotted: Lockdown, Enfeebled Operation and Stupefy. I had a piece or two from each I got as drops and simply completed the set. It looks like I too could/should go for Ranged Def.
Does any of that help you folks out? -
I know Gravity is considered pretty underpowered... but no one has anything to say?

Hey there,
Now that I have spent a lot more time on Wylde-Fire due to the Incarnate content... I want to make him the best that I can... on a limited budget.
Ultimately, I would like some assistance in slotting Wylde-Fire up the best that I can keeping two things in mind: I can't dedicate a gigantic budget to him (a few hundred million will suffice), and I would like to stick to the concept that he manipulates force and Gravity (aka no Fire as an Epic, for example).
Right now, he is a Level 50 Controller with Grav/FF/Primal and the Medicine, Inherent Stamina and Flight pools.
Any suggestions for what I should do with him?
Thanks in advance for any assistance. -
Quote:I definitely like those three classifications... There may be debate on what TF/SFs go in which group, but those distinctions work well and present an honest picture.I'd say you've got far too much granularity here. There's really only one way to rate difficulty, and that's the frequency with which teams fail to complete the TF. I'd go as follows:
Green: Almost never failed. The TF Commander TFs, the Shard TFs, etc.
Yellow: Occasionally failed. The ITF, the LGTF, the Dr. Khan TF.
Red: Often failed. The STF, the LRSF, the Apex TF, the Tin Mage TF, and the Barracuda SF.
Also, I would like to comment that you don't need an awesome super team to win... but having two tanks really helped our team to succeed in the STF. -

And even if it did... I thought that it wasn't a huge deal unless you advertised that is how you found it, and then told other people how to do it?

Utterly clueless, here, about that reference, Ironik.

First I am especially pleased that you celebrate fat fingered birthdays! That aside, I am totally cool with you making an arc (regardless of whether it fits into the 'plot' exactly or not). It would be cool to see your take on a story for us.

Quote:Psssst, Aquarius is an Air sign. There are only three signs per element.I got tons of ideas for water based powersets. Capricorn, Pisces, Aquarius and Cancer are all water signs. (I think)
Also I'm so happy that you're so happy.
Also, Capricorn is an Earth sign.
Linky!
I think you mean to say that Capricorn is an Earth sign... ALL of the signs we are talking about are the Sun signs... as opposed to a Rising Sign, or a Star sign, all of which are different astrologically speaking. -
*drool*
Though... I have always liked him better with a bit of stubble... but I guess I am just derailing the thread at this point.

Quote:Yes... there is. Essentially the silencing of sounds is replacing those sounds (just like icons are replaced in packs by Vanden or Corva) with a short track of silence. Soooo, one could simply name a file the right thing, place it in the right directory (assuring it is the right file-type) and it would replace that sound. Though it may be important to make sure that the length of the track matches up, though that may not matter, I am unsure. So I know there is a guide to silence specific power sound effects somewhere out there. Is there a way to make these songs play instead of the original?
However, to find the right files and right directories would require a LOT of messing in the PIGGs and a LOT of trial and error I should think. -
There is one particular area in Atlas Park that has music that sounds EXACTLY like music from one of the Sims games. Seeing this, it could actually be the same music, before, I just thought it was coincidence or my imagination.

Dude, I will look at Chris Evans in just about anything (though I tend to enjoy it more the less he has on)... *sigh*... What did I come in here to say?
Ohhhh, yeah!
I think the look is good. I was very wary of him being cast for that role, much the same as when I heard Heath was gonna be Joker, and we all know how that turned out! Let's hope it's the same case going on here.
