In fact, when I logged onto Pocket D on Monday on Defiant on 11am GMT there was only 5 there, myself included!

Maybe your problem right there.
[/ QUOTE ]
That would be a good point, except there was a lot more people actually ON the server. So most must have been disintrested, is what I'm trying to say. -

NC Soft are VERY VERY good at failing to market games...
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep. Exactly the same that happened with this game. There was very little advertising for it, and that's why we're as small as we are.
But I think it's fair to say it's a bit late to market now, almost 5 years past and 2 brand new superhero MMOs will come out soon. We can't keep up the trick that there is no other superhero MMOs on the market, because there will be more than one, very, very soon.
Righty I think I'm going slightly off topic thar so let's get back onto TR, shall we? Me, personally? I signed up for beta, didn't get in, and then from then, didn't look at TR. I was cuddled up into CoX. It's sad to see it go, yes, but I think it was inevitable. -
Excellent! Espicially like the last bit in episode 1 where the screen conked off, and the WoW characters
Just pure genius...creative genius in fact

I think I agree with PRAF and Londoner. Trying to constantly renew an old event just doesn't work. Because? Everyone will be logging on the first day, doing it on all their toons and guess what? The event has nothing more for them. And this year, nothing new is added, so now for a few people it will not be anymore new. In fact, when I logged onto Pocket D on Monday on Defiant on 11am GMT there was only 5 there, myself included!
Some good suggestions as mentioned earlier by PRAF, also a Summer Event, Villian Group Events, and other things.
And if they are going to expand on the Valentine's Day event, at least make it so they can do some sort of love story with our characters. Now, that would be quite nice, actually. -

So, basically, point of the thread is: giving people good advice ("get Stamina") makes you a jerk?
[/ QUOTE ]
No...you just need to put in the right way.
Getting into a hissy fit because someone doesn't have x power as you said earlier? That's bad.
Saying "Hey, why don't you try X power, it might help you"? That's good.
Of course, they will probably be some good reasoning behind not taking it. And at the end of the day, advice is advice, and people don't have to follow it. Getting into a hissy fit about a power is just as bad as kicking someone for not getting a power. In fact, getting into a hissy fit can lead to you kicking them, if your anger is not controlled.
Let's face it. There are certain people who don't take Taunt on tankers, Healing Aura on Empathy, and Stamina on most builds. There is no need to get into a hissy fit about that. It's just as reasonable as getting into a hissy fit about someone being a vegeterian, but there's good reasoning behind it.
So at the end of the day, Blitzkreiger, I very much recommend you don't get into a hissy fit at whatever power they haven't taken. That'll just get people to hate you.
Also, if you think you come out as elitist, you've actually been playing shorter than most elitists - you've been playing just over 12 months. How quick you learn, my friend, how quick you learn. -
First post after GR
Well...is it so hard putting something on the updater or the website? I mean, you don't HAVE to say "nothing new this year, folks." -

I'm going to look back at this thread at the end of the year and have a good giggle.
*ahem*
I can vouch for what Ex Libris has said with regards the dev team having too tight a schedule to put in any new content for Spring Fling 2009.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, a very tight schedule. I wonder what takes up most of that schedule. -

Well, I agree with the others, some of the powers could be worked on. Other than that I love the idea of time control. Here's some ideas:
Past Lord Recluse - You summon a rising Lord Recluse from the past. Although he is weaker than today's Lord Recluse, he can still pack a punch. Pet power.
Time Machine - You summon a time machine to send your enemy back into the past, and a weaker enemy from the past who is not the same enemy you sent into the time machine accidentally runs into the time machine and he comes into the present. Eg, a Boss will come back as a Lieutaent. Sounds a bit overpowered, I know, but considering how fast you can beat bosses these days, I guess it wouldn't be THAT overpowered. NOTE: This does not work with AVs or EBs. That would be overpowered.
Disturbing Vision - You show a enemy a vision of pain and death from the past which disturbs them. They are feared and have debuffed -ACC and -DMG.
[/ QUOTE ]
Any sort of pet that includes a named hero/villain would negate the use of the set for the other side. Also, i seriously DOUBT such a thing would ever happen. A rising Lord Recluse would simply slaughter anyone who dared get in his way. Big /unsigned there.
As for anything to do with altering the level of NPCs or PCs, thats a huge black spot. Firstly from the actual mechanics PoV, and then from a balancing PoV. Also, where would anyone other than a science or tech origin character get a time machine from?!
Disturbing vision is nice though. That gets a thumbs up here.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know, what is there to say a hero or villain can't use him? They could sort of "negotiate" with Lord Recluse on all this, like when you summon him the deal is you must give him power so you lose health and end. Of course this negotiating doesn't mean as soon as you summon him /e talk goes on, he just attacks straight you summon him.
Btw, I used the "time machine" thing just as a name. It doesn't necessarily mean it IS a time machine. It could be a time bubble, a time portal - but all it does the same task the time machine does. I don't see it that hard to bring a random enemy into the fray as you make out - although if you explain that, I'd be welcome to listen. And from the balancing PoV, the point is, you DON'T balance it. Since you can't use it on EBs or AVs, I wonder how it will be so gamebreaking. Plus, it will be unusable in PvP. I forgot to mention that... -

lol You want Elitism jst head over to the Legends threads on Union part of Forum .. What better example than a bunch of ppl who think themselves legends when they are unknown/ignored by massive majority of the game and recognised by only the friends who also put them and themselves up for Legend status!
[/ QUOTE ]
Um...no, I've never seen anyone on those threads, both Defiant and Union who has put themselves up.
And actually, they aren't only the friends. A lot of people knew people like Mighty, it wasn't just a circle of friends. -
OK...got a new active contact, Ganymede, as I went onto me tanker...so went to the D...and I could get missions from him!!
So the question is has it leaked or is it an early realase? -

coming soon... (perhaps)

Yes, the first trial is to stop the red-skinned woman kissing you. You failed the trial.
Excellent work Doccy. -
OK so I've been reading this thread for a bit and I think I slightly disagree.
Every MMO has elitists. It's unavoidable. There is always gonna be someone who thinks they know everything better than everyone else, including newbies.
And considering other MMOs, we have very little elitists.
So, at the end of the day, it's not like elitism is some sort of major problem. Sure, every now and again you'll get someone who's an elitist; but if you just ignore the elitists and move on, then you enjoy the game and community more rather than provoke them. -
Ooo, /signed. It would be nice if we could actually watch "Paragon News Reports" updated fortnightly, on a TV.

That's an awesome video, but I wouldn't really say it's "creative". No offence, but I think the sort of videos that would qualify as "creative" would be demoedited videos and all that.
So while it's a nice vid I don't think it'll get much praise around the community. -
I think probably the fastest way is farming. You could also farm RV pillboxes, but it's even more tedious and boring than farming, because you let the heavy do all the work.

Exactly. Even Terry Pratchet has lots of big monitors.

And when asked why he has 6 monitors, he answers....
"Because I don't have room for 8"
[/ QUOTE ]
And that leaves the question, "Why do you want to have 8 monitors, even though you only have the room for 6?"
Wait, I shouldn't have answered that....the answer would likely be "I didn't have room for 10..." -

In jail, he would be able to eat and sleep. He doesn't deserve that.
But he doesn't deserve death either. That's just going too far.
