The 3 procs topdoc is talking about converting to have no base enhancement vaule, so the lowest level works just as well as the highest but you may slot them sooner.

Lvl 15 vs lvl 10 may affect its value but not by much.

I guess I may be the only person who doesn't see an issue with selling/trading items for names.

I really don't understand why this is such a big deal and is always responded to with such venom.

We've all seen people offer 'services' for inf like base building, crafting, xp obtainment, builds and the like. I really don't see the difference between offering those things and offering a name.

I know that people have stated that names shouldn't be 'sat' on ... or was is squatted... I forget... but is there any difference between keeping a name and not 'using' it as me keeping a IO in a bin.

I imagine that people will say that it is the uniqueness of the name that is of issue here. That if the OP is squatting on these names then they aren't available to anyone else who would "actually" use them. If this is true, then isn't there a demand for these names? However, from most of the posts in this thread and others like it people mock the names for sale saying they are unoriginal and they wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. If so, than the names have no value and who cares if he is squatting on them.

I agree with most of what has been said-

PvP IOs are very useful in helping with +hp for melee as shield walls or glad armors can give the nice 2.25% +hp which is pretty hard otherwise to get. Unless you do some crazy power choices (lol footstomp with errad, or some ranged power with devs).

I do want to point out that Brutes and Tanks get DR'd at the same rate. The difference in values you see is due to base resists then enhancement values. Brutes do start out higher (unenhanced) then tanks but once you slot the powers Tanks (for the most part) have better resists, however due to DR the difference between:

47.5% psi resist for tanks and 45.7% psi resist for brutes is negligible.

Brutes used to be favored due to web envelope however, with patron pools available to both tanks and brutes now. I would go with the tank every time for great survivability (bigger bag of hp).

And yes.... I am kidding.

Even though half of the fun of lvl 5 pvp is that people can't run, and typically you try to squeeze them into the smallest map you can find.

Then you just cross your fingers and hope you spawn near other people so you don't have to run across the map just to find someone to shoot at.

Done.... no travel powers, all fights in cage.

I would imagine since travel powers are *not* being turned off, having a flying squid is ok. They do sell temp jetpacks and web grenades at the arena vendors.

I have to say, I've done a lot of these types of trades always from the side of the person offering the IO.

I have only had one person ask me to give them the IO after the first billion recieved, since I didn't know that person I politely refused and gave them back their billion.

What mousedroid is suggesting is a great way to do a trade with someone you don't know. Or another way to do it would be:

Player with item for sale: Puts item in trade window
Player looking for item: puts 999,999,999 inf +recipes worth the residual amount.

trade completed

Player who sold item: puts recipes in trade window
Player who received item: puts the residual inf

Trade completed

To me, I would rather just trade with people who trust me and are willing to send the inf upfront (most of the trades I've done have been via email). But these two ways offer a way to protect your item/inf during trades with unknown players.

Confirmation that EC will work on ATO's. With that in mind, I've been buying up the really cheap ones (kheld) and saving them for conversion to any that I may need in the future.


I really think that they are way under-priced currently, due to so many people buying SuperPacks for costume parts (looking at you Mental) or the wolf. So there has been a pretty big wave of ATOs hitting the market. I am speculating that once all the costume people get their parts and the new shiney wears off of the SuperPacks that the supply will drop dramatically.

Yes, we can still buy them with R-Merits or Astrals which are pretty easy to obtain but 70 astrals for the proc, or you can just just buy them cheap now 15-20 mill and convert them at a future date.

As far as my conversion strategy- I'm going to be using the "convert to any of the same rarity" till I get a the set that I want then use "convert to the same recipe" to try to get the ATO that I'm looking for.

You might want to post this on the market forum thread. That is where most people sell their IO/recipes/stuff.

I was goofing off trying to hit the Incarnate Shard cap on a character I use a lot and hit 499 a few weeks ago. Since then I haven't gotten a single shard.

Does anyone know what the cap is for shards? I would have thought it was 9,999 like reward merits or tickets.

I guess the best way for me to test this would have been to run a kahn, stf, itf, or lgtf and converted the component into a shard. However, after asking in a global channel I was convinced to convert 10 shards into 10 threads to see if i start getting shards again.

So while I wait to get those 10 shards back, I thought I'd ask here...
