If you got one toss it, don't worry it takes amazing timing to waste one (you have to click it at the exact same time). Even if you do, you can always get more.

It better to keep him 'pacified' lower resists then it is to worry about clearn a small spawn to get another temp.
  2. There are a few Global channels that are active on Victory:

    /Chanjoin Victory Forum
    /Chanjoin Victory Badges 2009

We have a PvP University Channel that I will send both of you an invite too.

It is pretty hard/near impossible to get picked up on a team without broadcasting in one of these channels or forming your own team on Victory. Most people run with set groups or only monitor the channels for teaming.

This has been a tactic that has been popping up all over the forums. Hey Major/Mental guess what FF are good again!

Ele I think after watching teams on the last 4 BAFs we can identify where *most* of the "leakage" is occuring.

I would say the least likely culprit is the west exit door the area around that door is flat and you can easily see anything making its way to the door (on all runs I've been on I've seen 0 commados make it to that exit).

Of the remaining two exit points, I would say the one that "leaks" the most is the South exit, with a very good reason. There is a point where the refugees split and 1/2 of them go behind the building the exit door. I can't tell you how many times while I was guarding the West exit point I would run down to the door and see a whole stream of refugees coming from behind the building.

The 2nd most likely culprit is the North exit door, because it seems to have the shortest path from the south buildings (most west building) to the North exit, again the trail veers off behind a building which may lead to people missing them.

I think we will be running a few of these tonight with a new strategy:

Team 1 covers West exit and locks down the North Spawn point (north of the tennis courts). This team can be made up of pretty much anything. As I think the West exit is the easiest to defend.

Team 2 covers the south building- but we move them to directly south of the tennis courts. This team will be team "Stacked" if we get two bubblers we can position them on the northeast and northwest corners of the western most building that will effectively lock down the south exit. This team will also need quick spikers to run north and south of the tennis courts spiking any commandos they see.

Team 3 will cover the East exit- now if team two is doing its job, they shouldnt worry too much about the spawns leaving the spawn point (because the south exit will be effectively locked). I want to try to position a bubbler again between the two buildings which will cut the flow by 50% and allow the team to just focus on the stream that goes around the side of the building to the East exit point.

I have to echo Lin's sentiments about teaming with friends. Honestly, that best times I've had in the game were not necessarily our most epic sucesses but some of our craziest escapades:

2 hour late late late night STF with Chumly playing healer on his PB.

    Freakspec where I RP'd a WoW refugee.

Master (almost) of Kahn where someone said "ok everyone get into melee, go go go".

Escher narrating the cut scenes of the LRSF and STF.

LvL 5 kill clowns PvPec event where we were accused of being a PvP cartel going to the various servers stealing their prizes.

And finaly, pretty much anytime someone said "Hey guys I got an idea, I want to try something..."

Good friends can make even the most mundane tasks enjoyable. (Of course 20ish minute Apex/ITF/LGTF/Kahn/STFs are always fun too).

Almost forgot the most epic statement ever uttered on vent:

"I will take the ......" -Sarrate
    Dude come back to CoH.
  5. We will be kicking off BC2 in 8 days, and as such I'd like to have a final meeting this Friday with everyone on all committees. We will meet on Philly's Vent at 9pm est (standard meeting time) then move to our new Vent server (thanks Arky!).

Anyone from BC1 who is not on a committee but wishes to join us for this meeting is more then welcome as well.

We will be going over the final draft of the rules, event outline and making sure we all ready to kick this off next week.

I appreicate everyone's investment of time and thought for this event. We should have private forum access soon for everyone on the various committees.

Leadership might get passed, or people who DC will be on a new team (3) but the teams should stay the same as the way the League Leader created them.

(This passing of leadership is seen a lot in arena matches where you have fast zoners and slow zoners, the first person who zones in get the star).

It is not a client, mapserver or being booted out of the trial.

Basically the instance crashes, I believe this is the same type of issue that used to happen in the arena (old bug new system?) pre i13. If people try to rejoin the instance by clicking on their LFG tab and then hitting rejoin, there is a message stating something along the lines of Map Error.

I haven't experienced this yet, just tried to help people who had it happen to them on one of the global channels I am in.
  8. I posted this in your other thread about this topic, but here it goes again:

Not On My Watch Allow no Mindwashed Prisoners to escape during a Behavioral Adjustment Facility Incarnate Trial.

Alarm Raiser Never disable a Guard Tower using the controls at its base during a Behavioral Adjustment Facility Incarnate Trial.

Gotta Keep 'Em Separated Defeat Siege & Nightstar without moving them from their initial locations during a Behavioral Adjustment Facility Incarnate Trial.

Strong and Pretty Defeat Siege & Nightstar while none of their reinforcements are alive during a Behavioral Adjustment Facility Incarnate Trial.

Synchronized Destroy a Weapons Cache and an Incubation Pod within 2 seconds of each other during the Lambda Sector Incarnate Trial.

Well-Stocked Complete the Lambda Sector Incarnate Trial having acquired 10 Pacification Grenades and 10 Molecular Acids but using none of them

Antacid Complete the Lambda Sector Incarnate Trial having acquired 10 Molecular Acids but using none of them.

Lambda Looter Complete the Lambda Sector Incarnate Trial having acquired 10 Pacification Grenades but using none of them.

Master of the B.A.F. Earn the Not On My Watch, Alarm Raiser, Gotta Keep 'Em Separated, and Strong and Pretty badges.

Master of Lambda Sector Earn the Synchronized, Well-Stocked, Antacid, and Lambda Looter badges.

I am not seeing where you state the team must fail.

You *can* kill Marauder without using pacification grenades.
You *can* kill Marauder without using molecular acids on the summoning doors.

We are just starting to unlock out incarnate slots, when we unlock them all, we have 3 level shifts, so we will be fighting 54's at lvl 53. We will have tremendous team buffs and debuffs, we will have AoE nukes that can help to clear spawns and pets to help buff us and do damage.

This honestly, wont be that hard to do once we fully unlock/slot or even partially unlock/slot our incarnate slots.
  9. If you DC you will be dropped from the League However, all you have to do is click your LFG tab then click rejoin and you will be back on your league again.

This is different then when your whole League DC's due to map error, then you can try to rejoin but it says there was an error with the map.
  10. You are living in the past... let it go and move on.

    Hey welcome to forums-

You have a very valid point about melee damage vs range damage on team pvp.

However, honestly though, stalkers do lock, stalkers do evade, and they do need to spike.

We do appreciate your input though.

So yeah, some people might lag dc when loading in (used to happen with arena matches as well back a few issues). There is way to fix this though, if you click your LFG tab, then click rejoin, you are back on the trial.

How does it play so far? Pug-friendly? Time-friendly? I never got into any closed sessions so other than brief descriptions, I still know next to nothing about both trials (/raids?). I will probably end up trying the new blueside TF before the raids, oddly enough.
The trials both are very fun, as far as PUG, I think you are ok as long as you have good leadership and people will read league chat and follow directions. For the Lambda- you will need to speed the 2nd part (where you need to destroy glowies to get temp powers) so a few well built scrapper/brutes/tanks are important. For BAF- honestly, to keep the prisioners from escaping, its helpful to have a few good holders (maybe as many as 6) to hold the minions at the spawn points while the high damage dealers patrol the paths to make sure the commandos don't get away (since they are mez proof).

They are fun Ryxx and we should be able to burn them pretty quick.

  14. There has been a lot of questions about ATs and powersets that can be used in BC2. So while I was going to wait till our first meeting it would probably be best to talk about this now.

Players new to PvP will have a limited choice as to what they play in BC2. There are many reasons for this, and the committee that met and talked about this had very specific reasons behind this limitation.

Players new to PvP will be limited to playing *damage* characters.

These characters will consist of: Blasters (psi/em, or Sonic/em); Stalkers (spines/wp or elec/wp); and dominators (mind/fire, earth/fire, earth/nrg).

Lastly there will be a limit of each type that can be signed up for so after the first meeting I will post a sign up sheet and people may sign up for character they wish to play in BC2.

The reasons for these limitations are:

It was felt that playing damage (over disruption or heals) would give players new to PvP the best chance at understanding three of the key aspects of PvP: Locking; Spiking; and Evading.

For those teaching workshops and discussing attack chains, it is much more feasible to talk about 8 powers and 2 attacks chains then 40 powers and 10 attack chains.

The limitations on how many may play each is just for fuctionality of the event. If we have 80% of players on stalkers the team aspect of this event will just not work.

Some power sets just work better if everyone is using the same type of attacks and damage types.

There have also been some questions about if people need to be available every Friday. I think everyone understands that things will come up and people may miss a week here and there, having said that we will be focusing on different workshops and aspects of the game each week so players who miss these may be at a disadvantage. Later when we start actual team play missing practices or matches may put you behind the curve as far as honing your PvP skills.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the 15th.

Also a huge thanks to Arky for securing us a Vent that will be able to accomodate everyone, we outgrew the last vent server we were using (thanks again Philly!).
  15. Good news/bad news for you Arch. You did a really nice job of creating a build that would fit into the confines of BC2 (no purples/no pvp IOs) while still hitting most of the target objectives for a PvP Blaster:

You are HP capped 1606- If you get a few other accolades, you are way over the HP cap if you get all the accolades so you might be able to change some sets to give you some other set bonuses like +acc, +recharge, +dam etc.

You got the concept of adding proc damage- one of the reasons, I actually made a rad blaster was the ability to proc its attacks fairly easily.

The bad news is- at this time the ideas committee voted to limit the types of blasters allowed to be played in BC2 to: psi and sonic and further limit the number of players who would actually be able to pick sonic.

The feeling amongst the group was that while there maybe people may rebel against playing psi/em because they feel pigeon holed the truth is having everyone play the same type of blaster is a good thing on team based PvP. If you have a team of 4 psi blasters and 1 fire blaster, the damage from the fire blaster will be coming in faster then the psi (not the icon or the to-hit roll, but the actual *seeing* of damage on your hp bar) therefore that damage can give away a spike target to the other teams healers.

Another reason we are limiting the AT/powersets that will be playable for players new to pvp is that we are going to be focusing on teaching the basics of PvP: locking, spiking, and evading (the big three for damage dealers). This will hopefully give players new to PvP a better understanding of PvP. To do this everyone who is helping to teach workshops and such will need to be able to talk about attack chains and powers and it is much easier to talk about 8 powers or 2 attack chains rather then 40 powers and 10 attack chains.

Again what you made here with that rad/em build is really great and shows you have put time and thought into creating your character for PvP BC2 which is awesome. I look forward to talking with you more on the 15th.
