  1. I can see Water Blast on the store list now, but anytime I go to buy it I get "System not available, please try again later" error on the next page -.- Why must they tease me so...

Oooo, did not know that >.> Probably because I haven't got a DP or TW alt to incarnate range quite yet, so I never noticed the extra unlocks on the list. Good to know, thanks for that info.
  3. Kinda hoping to get some Dev input on what new weapons options were introduced with the new issue besides the obvious stuff from the new mecha VIP pack, since I've seen a few new options and I have no bloody clue how to go about getting them...or if its even possible.

I've seen at least 1 titan weapon unlock available via the Magi trial: Excalibur...a super-rare recipe drop like Maelstrom's pistols, basically something I can dream of getting since they're selling for roughly 700 mill to 1 billion inf at the moment on the market. If it was an accound-wide unlock...yeah, that price would be worth it. But to only get it on a single alt? Boo-urns on that, for that price I could deck out half a dozen alts in full IO's and sets.

From my puttering on beta, and from running the Magi trial...I've also seen at least 2 staff options as well: the utterly badass looking spear that Shadowhunter uses, and a second type used by one of the Black Knights (looked like a staff with a studded mace head on either end). The Knights also have new sword and shield options as well. Are these attainable by players, or just for NPCs use?
  4. Well...good to know its not my crap luck for a change, although it did take about 50 tries to stay logged in enough to post this :P

Boo-urns otherwise though, I was hoping to get some newer copies of my alts on the beta since I have next to nothing over there atm. Guess I'll cross my fingers and hope they fix whatever messed up on their end.
  5. As the title implies, anytime I click the link off the "How to copy" thread it just brings me to a blank white page and states its 'done' loading, even refreshing/reloading just brings the blank page up over and over.

Throw on that annoying issue with staying logged in every time you click a link...I'm seriously pulling what little hair i have left out trying to get ready for the beta event, is there any word on why the copy tool seems to be down? Or is this just my crap luck with technology rearing its ugly head once more?
  6. My Blood widow (yes, I said blood widow...those ARE possible using the night path with no psi attacks) is "Black Helix"...so named for the tainted genetic code she has.

My Bane has something a bit more stereotypical for a name: "Slayer Asura" ...pretty self explanatory >.>

    Assault

Pretty much all my alts have come into assault with the fitness change, but prior to that all 3 of my /wp scrappers had assault going (with just the base slot) with no real issue with 6-7 other toggles running. 4 Wp toggles, assault, tactics, Combat jumping and Super speed (if i forget to turn it off dashing from mob to mob).

With a bit of creative set work, you can build a fairly impressive global damage bonus for yourself (almost 40% on my MA/WP, and about 20-25% on my DB and katana versions), imo its totally worth the end cost giving how high a scrappers damage potential is.
  8. Unstoppable doesn't give confuse resistance though, its more likely the dreaded 'purple triangles' kicked in and mad-boosted all her status protection at the last minute.
  9. I was told by several people that the perception debuff is the autohit portion, the actual tohit debuff makes a tohit check to apply to a target in PvE. Really...most people use the power for the -perception anyway, and its not that hard to spam-cast it 2-3 times to get the tohit debuff to stick.
  10. I just recently got my earth/earth/soul to permadom, before she was a beast...and now she's an utter monster. i've run a few LGTF's with tanks and brutes on team, yet I'm the one playing alpha and more or less filling the brute/tank role with the actual 'tanks' following my lead. It felt rather strange at first, but after steamrolling a dozen mobs without breaking a sweat it kinda made sense why.

Well-build doms (permadom or not) have potential that no other AT in the game can even come close too. Controlers control....but its a RNG gamble with containment, Tanks/brutes hold aggro...but do so at great personal risk/harm. All it takes is 1 domination-pumped AoE stun (or confuse) and you've basically turned a mob into a bunch of practice dummies for the rest of your team to steamroll over at their leisure. Start throwing in procs like Grav Anchor's chance to hold....and things get even ever more extreme.
  11. Question....and partial complaint at the same time: Any reason why Katana didn't get that new blade option? Seriously, the difference between Katana's customizing options and the other 2 bladed sets is getting a little out of hand.

I understand Katana customizations have certain requirements with the set being 2-handed, and those new blades have the potential to be held with 2 hands since there's a slight extension to the hilt.

    [/complaint]
  12. Sounds like the issue my friend has with laptop, you might wanna check to see if your ram and vid memory are being shared or not. If they are, there's likely a good chance its causing memory issues that lead to crashing anytime you put a load on your RAM (clicking the market/trainers/stores...moving after being inactive for a period of time, etc).

    Generic Rant

Vain attempt to re-clarify what original topic of thread was after several days spent away, obviously too lazy to go back and read for oneself. Abuse of caps lock optional.

    AE- I'm very sad

Yeah, I was a tad annoyed when I was writing that post...and afterwards my roomie commented that reducing the rewards (much like they did with Family to kill the family farms) would be a better approach.

I humbly withdraw my "Remove all xp" comment in favor of reduced rewards :P
  15. Well, I guess the easy way to tell if you're exploiting is logging in one day as a 50 fully slotted, then logging in the next day nerfed down 40 levels and without all your cool gear. :P

The Dev's have made their stand on extreme-exploit farming pretty obvious after the second wave of character nerfs that went out recently from the comm farms, and if you're honestly daring/stupid enough to PL an alt from 1-50 in a matter of hours....you're almost welcoming a nerf for yourself.

As it stands, I'm apprehensive to farm AT ALL now because there's no telling if and/or when the Dev's are going to lay a massive crackdown out. When I play at all of course...It's hard to find motivation to play a game when you know that you're going to end up doing something boring because that's the only available thing to do.

    AE- I'm very sad

It's not so much the risk/reward scale that bothers me so much about farming, more so the fact that City is suddenly seeing a rise of level 50 characters with NO CONCEPT of how to play their character, or what the higher level challenges of the game entitle. I can't think of how many 50's I've run into lately that don't even know the most common acronyms used in the game (like dps, or most of the zone acronyms like PI and AP), or have never heard of the higher level villain groups or TF/SF's. Did I mention alot of these 50's don't even have the 3 month vet reward typically as well?

Farming is boring as hell, straight up...speaking from the view point of a former farmer who's suffering from extreme burn-out as a result. First it was the comm farms, then the custom farms till the mandatory ranged attack changes, then everything switched to Maniac bosses....and now apparently people have moved back into the Hami mitos since they're apparently accessible again (even though they shouldn't be).

At first I didn't want to admit it, but sadly after a few months of seeing next to no changes in game play in regards to farming (if anything it got worse with I15 by the looks), the MA will likely be the downfall of City unless exploitative issues and other abused [censored] are addressed and rectified.

Eliminate AE xp? That sounds like a damn good idea actually after the numerous fixes and changes the Dev's have implemented that are really having no deterring effect on the problem. Remove xp and rewards and turn the MA into a purely content-driven aspect? Harsh yes...but at this point sugar-coating and coddling are getting people no where fast.

Flame all you want, but the facts are obvious. The risk/reward scale for the MA needs to be revamped...and preferably removed from the game. Remove the rewards, the exploitation will cease as people will go looking for another fast-fix and find nothing as easy as the last few months have been.

    Hello cold, sobering reality...
  17. Uhhh...I've been told to announce that the CC will be held at 11, not 10 as previously stated by the boss-lady *points up*
  18. You're missing the point...it's not what makes up the team that ultimately affects the outcome.

PB'd Transfusion? Practically nothing - first off, Power Boost doesn't affect -regen or -recovery, and -50% that gets resisted by a +3 AV to -4.55% isn't really helping a whole lot. And a Rad/Kin has 0 sources of -recovery, Power Boost or no. And -defense is resisted by just as much as the -recovery (90.9% after factoring in both AV resistance at level 53 and the purple patch).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok, I admit that AV debuff resistance are extreme...but that 5% you can slip past can still make a huge difference with repeated applications (PB'd or not). Have you ever looked at what an AV actually has for a regen rating? It's nothing spectacular really, it's the fact they ignore 95% of all debuffs that hurts.

And Transference doesn't do -recovery, meh...that was my mistake. -40% end every 30 seconds or less works just fine as well...no endurance is still no endurance, their recovery isn't high enough to get off more then a couple attacks before they get drained again.

Any PvE content that requires you to do PvP content is inherently broken.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why does everyone seem to think Nukes and Shivans are mandatory temps needed for anything hard? I've been on both STFs and LRSFs where the leader was adamant about needing both for buffs, debuffs and "Aggro control". And in the end, it made no noticeable difference...

That's the dumbest thing I've every heard personally: Shivans...for aggro control? Are you kidding me? Most times you can summon one right next to what you want it to attack...and it'll run off somewhere else brainlessly and attack something totally different. Shivans are notoriously unreliable in the best of circumstances, and depending on them isn't a wise path to take.

If you build your ST/TF team well, you can supplement what these temps do quite easily...occasionally with a single AT. Any Rad user can take the place of a shivan for debuffs. A kin, or pain/emp user can offer up nuke-like buffs repeatedly without having to ever step foot into a PvP zone.

In the case of the LRSF I took part in with the leader's adamant demands for nukes and shivs, I was playing my Rad/kin corr...effectively a shivan and one of the Warburg nukes mixed into a single, PC-controlled unit. It was also my virgin run of the SF, and I was really expecting the worst when the boss was going on and on about needing temps for all the Heroes. Eventually by the final mission, I was already questioning why we needed them. And then watching 5 shivans do nothing helpful for the team when we needed them against the Phalanx, I was pretty convinced that the leader was just blowing hot air about the whole thing.

Throughout the whole TF, I was quite obsessive about making sure any and all Hero-class targets were debuffed to the extreme...which isn't very hard as a rad/kin using Soul Mastery. Power boosted Transfusion and transference floor regen and recovery, backed with PB'd -def and some -res (Proc-based)...it was kinda laughable how easy the whole experience was. Sure we had a couple wipes against the Phalanx, but it wasn't wasn't anything a slight change in tactics didn't solve.

In the end, temp powers are nice to have, but they aren't 'mandatory' for everything that presents a challenge in the game. Stocking up on a bunch of buffs and pets with a team that's not balanced to begin with isn't going to change the outcome, or make it any easier to achieve.

This here I see as an oversight in merit calculation. Im sure that most SUCCESSFUL LRSF's take about an hour, because it's the same superteams running them over and over and over, thus driving the completion time down.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No no, there's a very obvious different in the time consumed by either TF/SF. LRSF mission sets are quite literally "Go smash these guys standing in the broad open"...you can't possibly get any easier then that. Compared to fishing through web parts and Security Chief's to find the correct key-holder, then wading through lab after lab, after lab's worth of spiders just to get at the AV's...come on, unless you're stealth/porting your way past all the mobs to just take down the AV's, you're in for a long.....LONG ride.

And....again, I'd like to point out that Villain AT's are more designed for dps compared to heroes (6-7 vs uhhh...2-3?), which translates to shorter times overall.
  22. Does this argument even have a point anymore? I'd like to point out a few things that are being mentioned but not actively compared.

    1. [u]Merit values:[u] States TF: 38, Recluse: 25. Right there is an indication that the LRSF is obviously shorter (or comparably easier if you prefer) going by the reward formula.

    2. [u]Heroes vs. AVs:[u] States: 15 AV's, 1 monster. Recluse: 18 Heroes, 1 monster. Woohoo, you fight more heroes then villains...big whoop *finger twirl* Has anyone bothered to look at the quality of one verses the quantity of the other? Only about half the Heroes encountered on the LRSF present any real treat....the other half are support-oriented AT's who do relatively little damage (Compared to states, BAB, Cit...) and has paper-like resistances that make them pathetically easy to take down if you target them first. STF you're pitted against the big 5 in the final mission...simple enough right? Anyone forgetting that all 5 primary Villain AT's are damage-oriented yet? Or that they pack more personal buffs (Mako's stacking Elude, GW's multi-heals), debuffs (Scirocco's massive -end), Status Mag (GW's uber-mag hold...a tank needs multiple applications of CM-like powers to avoid, along with her AoE intangable power) and DPS (Mako's outta-nowhere crits, Recluse and his damn towers *twitch*) then any of the heroic 'big 5' could compare with? This time, quality wins over quantity....I'd rather face the vindicators and Freedom Phalanx in one giant mess then try to take the 4 Patrons and Recluse's little posse.

    3. [u]Super-team vs. PuG:[u] Heh, this part makes me smile...and not for good, wholesome reasons either. Before I'd given up on STF's (That was about a year ago), what few attempts I made at it that did prove successful were both a mix of random PuG invites and actual SG/coalition building. BUT...those successful PuG's were very, very picky about who they were inviting and yes, just like redside, they were looking for specific AT's to do specific things to help balance the team. How is that any different then sticking at least 2 VEAT's on any villain PuG SF?

    4. [u]Experience vs. Common Sense:[u] If you're on a PuG LRSF...and you're the only one of the whole team that's ever done it before...where do you think that's going to lead? Or getting that last spot on a STF and realizing there's no tank...only 1 support and a blue-light special on blasters? If you sign on...and start having doubts before you even get into the first mission...get the hell out then, and save yourself a lot of grief and frustration. I have bailed on TF's before because I didn't like how the leader had built it based off my past experiences.

    5. [u]States vs Recluse, My opinion:[u] I'll say what I've been wanting to say for a few paragraphs now: Recluse SF is easier...by far given the different in AT's between heroes and villains. I would rather subject myself to things like the Posi TF (since it has some actual merit in being tied to a useful accolade) then take another stab at Statesboy's TF. If you're going to PuG either TF, don't expect some half-[censored], 5 minute-throw-together, patchwork team is going to pull off any great moments in heroics or villainy. The game at that level just doesn't work like that anymore, either you learn tactics...or you die.

    ...did I miss anything important?
