Quote:I had an account log in issue a few years ago and had to call support...I could log into the game fine but the account would not let me log in and I had set both passwords the same...they figured out the account password corrupted and fixed me up....they do a great job!!I wanted, at least, eventually, to get around to try to thank these people. Well, a year later, I guess, still counts, right?
I went through tech support with the NCSoft team about a year ago, for about a week straight we worked on trying to get my machine to run it properly. We finally did, and I will tell you this right now:
NCSoft's tech support are the best tech support folks out there. I've never had a company go so far to help me with the issues I had than these people. They actually contacted and worked with the Nvidia tech people to fix my problem (It turned out a cable wasn't properly plugged, one of those tiny little suckers I missed when assembling my machine). They were incredibly patient, kind, and supportive, and I can only say that I wish every tech support group were as thorough, and engaging as these people. I can't remember the tech's names for the life of me, but I know I was escalated to the senior techs.
If any of you ever have the pleasure of dealing with them, pay them respect and don't get overly frustrated, these people are the kind who will help you to help you - not just because they're paid to.
Thanks again, guys! -

I have never tried to explain it away...but I also do not role play a whole lot...most of my role play is done through the background bio.....weird I know...

Quote:If something is super hyped I avoid it like the plague....just saw 300 this week for the first time...have not and probably will never watch Harry Potter or Avatar...I am the same way with music...I will usually never listen to cds that are hyped until after they drop back down the charts...That avoids something simply because its popular?
I hate bandwagons.
If something is really hyped or FOTM I'll avoid it like the plague. Even if it's something I've looked forward to.
I refused to watch any Harry Potter movies until the hysteria died down. Then I of course fell in love with the series.
I was still rocking my pager in 2000, refusing to give in and get a cellphone. Now I can't live without one.
I'll end up avoiding Demons and Dual Pistols for at least 6 months after GR is released.
I still haven't made a Shield toon because its still so shiny.
Does this make me weird?
I think it boils down to me not wanting to be sheeple. I don't wanna be someone doing something just because everyone else is. Even when it's something I might enjoy.
Just can't stand being a clone I guess. So I'll wait and let the newness go away, wait until everyone stops gushing over something, then in the shadows I'll watch it, or I roll one up, and ask myself why I waited.
Anyone else avoid bandwagons like me?
My biggest issue is when you have liked something long before it became the FOTM and are considered a band wagon jumper...for example I am a huge Pittsburgh Penguins fan and have been since 1985...I live 2 hours from where Sidney Crosby was born...last year every store I went to and looked at Penguins merchandise treated me I was a band wagon jumper....I had to start quoting stats from the 1985 season to silence them...LOL -
- the missions evolve to be more than just what we have now...so I echo the idea of saving a crashing plane or things of that nature...
- Mayhem/Safe Guard missions have the option of having the AV/Hero you fight be a random player who is doing the opposite mish on the opposite side....be a fun twist...
- Apartments for heroes/villains who do not associate with a sg/vg...I know with bases we can make this happen but why not have a choice between zones to have your "home"...Store influence, recipes, salvage and of course inspirations and enhancements...
- To kind of tie in to the previous item...have the character have the option to have a secret identity...have them "flag" as not being targetable or able to target enemies until you find some place safe to change into your costume...like during a zone event...if NPCs or players have you in LOS...you receive a message saying your identity would be compromised... -

Welcome back!!! Life can be harsh and unforgiving at times...I am going through a divorce and some days this game is the only thing to keep me sane....
-
Welcome!!!! Is nice to have someone from marketing in our midst!!!

Just hit 50 for the 14th time on a gravity/psionic dominator named Scarlett Asperity...
I now have 7 on each side... -
Then would need to release figures that have Daredevil, Goku, Red Tornado, Frodo and Godzilla on the packaging but all generic looking figures based on the old He-Man and TMOU molds....
-
Quote:New TF Idea!!!!!!Lol.
I remember seeing these (well maybe not with the CoH name, but I do think so) in the Philippines a few years ago. In addition to the generic heroes, they had 90% accurate Superman, Batman and Spiderman figures, often boxed together. It was pretty odd.
Lord Recluse and Statesmen gather the good and evil to battle......the Copycats!!!! -
I did it last night on my level 46 dominator to see what al the talk was about and was getting 97 000 xp for each GM kill....tested today as I thought they were going to make adjustments and recieved 433 xp...
-
I have no issue with the axe...but I do only take it for concept purposes...if I know the character is going to be battling lots of CoT in his life span(story reasons as I know he will always have a chance to encounter them)....I take it everytime...

Quote:I solo'd my main character for a year and a half when I started and did not team for the same reason. I was afraid I would somehow be marked as a bad player of I did not play as good as the team thought I should...if I woulda teamed earlier...I woulda hot 50 earier....Not taking it upon myself to start teaming earlier. I bought this game pretty much at launch and played for a bit but then quit because it just felt kind of stale. Restarted during a free weekend, played a for a bit then quit for a year or two again. Restarted again last May during a free weekend then... actually started setting my LFT flag and contacting people who were looking for more. Finding out about global channels and joining teams and task forces. It's pushing a year now since I rejoined and I'm still interested in the game, largely because I'm treating it like a social event rather than a single player game.
If people like playing it solo, that's fine. But I was personally more worried about not knowing "enough" that I'd be a liability in a team or not playing well enough or whatever. I'm glad I finally just took the plunge (which was painless) and regret not having done so way back in the day.
which leads to my next one......
The first year and a half I solo'd my blaster to 50....I never played an alt....NEVER....strange I know....but I wanted to "finish" him...I now have my share of alts and to me the game is like a brand new game with each new power set combo and AT...wish I woulda enjoyed that part sooner... -
I am 34 here...my little girl will play my characters but only flies around and talks to people...LOL....she is 6...
-
I don't care for pranks overall....can't stand shows like Punk'd as I just don't find it funny....I might not appreciate the humor but I appreciate the effort and thought that the biggest laugh they would get out of me about this is if next April 1st we seethe box on the shelves...
-
This is all amazing news!!!!.....This is why I love this game and have been here over 66 months...the way that this game has evolved has been truly been something else....great stuff!!!!!
-
I guess I don't mind it at all....if anything alot of Pugs I have been in have had very little talking during missions....so the "gratz" is a way to remind me I am playing with people and not npcs...
-
When I first started right after launch I can remember that the 5th Column were the first group that just looked "evil" to me...also having them openly recruiting in Steel Canyon was something I took offense to and remember spending hours street sweeping them solo so that they would never build their ranks...so the 5th are up there...
Currently I think Arachnos is my favorite group to fight ....they are just "the" group to me to pit yourself against...I also like that they are the main opposition to everyone we strive to be like in Paragon...
