    i want a thugs/empathy

fortitude is still the best buff in the game, and you can easily slot it to keep it up on three people at a time.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Alas, with Pain Domination we're unlikely to get it.

Just seems to show how dumb the 'healer' mentality is, when Empathy has some of the best buffs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think I might actually want /thermal instead of Pain for MMs. Shields + Heals + Thaw + Forge = win, no?

I know I can easily keep Forge on at least two or three people when playing my thermal troller. Having the extra to-hit and damage for Forge, with the survivability of shields AND targeted heals might just be overkill for MMs.

well while your wishing for thermal ill be wishing they take brawl out of punks/arson, soldiers and battle drones cause i dont really see why they need it unless its just to irritate the player

Never said I was wishing, I said it has been rumoured and hinted at.

Oh joy, another 'ban the farmers thread'. Is ti just me, or has anyone else gotten tired of responding intelligently to these thigns? I think Ill take a page from the WoW boards, and keep it blunt and pithy from no on.

    qq moar, n00b.

Um..... what? I must be missing something. No comments about farming in this thread until your post, sir. Did you post in the wrong thread by accident?

Will I15 be our first patch that doesn't actually break something about bases?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Is that even legal?
  5. If you're going to go Masterminds, I'd recommend going Ninjas/SR or Ninjas/Ninjutsu or possibly Ninjas/Invuln to add in some survivability for your actual Masterminds so they don't get dropped in a hurry, wiping out hordes of ninjas at a time. Don't really even need the tier-3 pet (Oni) just the Genin and Jounin. Each MM would still be summoning 5 ninjas to jump into the fray that way.

Test it with the MMs themselves set for Ranged, so they stand back and fire off their archery attacks at you while staying out of melee, and therefore away from your bread and butter scrapper attacks, which will then be soaked up primarily by the pets as they attack you.
  6. Looks good there. I'm looking forward to seeing what kinda of additions and changes you make as you go along

And nobody even needs to enter the mish. He just stares at the contact until the "Mission Complete" message comes up and he's given inf and tickets for all the critters in the mish.
  8. Please do! One of my biggest regrets is not having detailed screenshots for most of the bases I left recently or I would be sharing more than I have.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
You do not need a Robotic Fabricator to make the Worktable function. It is meant to be used to repair Workshop items damaged in a Base Raid. Since raiding is currently turned off - it's a nifty decor items for right now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I had them scattered throughout one of the bases I did, as though they were the robotic assistants of the character in charge of the base's maintenance. They cost 100 prestige/month per Fabricator, but the effect was pretty cool I thought.

The Maker of Artifacts' LegendBots were everywhere. We probably had a dozen or so roaming about in that base, IIRC. Using 1x2 workshops as hallways allowed me to place them in lots of places, as though they were always moving things about.

hmmm.... How did thee stack thine desks to make 3 floors?

I can do alot but I havnt been able to master a good second floor stacking method.

Stickied at the top of this forum is i13 Stacking Tools. Lots of good info there.

Great Job Natalie! I was wondering how do you create the "hilly dirt" areas. Kinda looks like hills or something.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Wondering that too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There are mounds of dirt in the Room Details tab, I believe, in the base editor.
  12. I've seen this problem with my Protectors (six-slotted with Blood Mandate), tried re-commanding them for Def/Follow and about the half the time they actually just ignore the command and stay where they are. I don't think they're running out of End at all when it happens.

They do however stop shooting at point blank range at that point until aggro'd again though, regardless of whether they come back to me or not. Go figure.

    Edited to add slotting info

You know, could be an interesting take and have bases available as mission maps..... just a thought.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because of AI issues and pathing, as well as spawn point problems that would likely arise, this probably isn't particularly likely under the current system.
  14. Very impressive indeed. Love seeing the "building inside a building" approach to design that we see more and more of since i13's changes.
  15. Only one that comes to mind for me off the top of my head is Teen Titans attacking the X-Mansion in the Titans/X-Men crossover from the first batch of Marvel/DC crossovers 25+ years ago. And that obviously isn't considered canon, as it takes place outside the normal continuity of either universe.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
=P Take your story, then add on a room with 600 placed desks....not able to move, had to delete the room to work the base, that pissed me off pretty good=P

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ooooh I've been there. Had that problem when I was originally designing the first two-story room in one of my former SG bases. This was back in the pre-i13 stacking days of course.

I do most of my editing in the wee hours as well for publicly accessed bases, just to prevent people being put out by or getting in the way of whatever I'm working on.

    Justice League Satellite
    X-Mansion
    Titans Tower
    Batcave

That's just a few. Why do those heroes have them? Simple. That's where they plan out their business. It's where they gather to discuss matters of importance for the group. Their bases are where they store their stuff until its needed. Its where they come up with new stuff.

Those are all viable deals that exist within the framework of the game for bases, things that you don't seem to realize they do.

It's part of the superhero genre and has been for decades.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes this is true. But how many stories in comics has the heroes been attacked in their base by their arch-enemies? Bases are often a focus of the stories. There should absolutely be more. I am so tired of joining sg's just to make prestige for the leader to do nothing but play base designer all the time. That's why I have a sg of my own for all my alts. This is an old concern brought up many times. But should still be addressed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dunno how to tell you this, but until they turned off pathing in i13, Base Raids were available. You could do that. Because of the issues inherent in spawn points and pathing. I doubt that we'll see PvE combat in our bases anytime soon either.

Personally its not my cup of tea, but I can see why some people want that. Furthermore, most bases have been attacked, but to read in this forum sometimes, you'd think that every issue of every book had major fights inside the base of your favorite heroes. If you think about it, those are actually the exception and not the rule.

Yes, the X-Mansion was blown up however many times, but that's over the course of how many decades? The original Avengers Mansion was gutted by the Masters of Evil. The Baxter Building was blown up and eventually replaced by Four Freedoms Plaza. Yeah these things happen, but seriously, how often does this happen? Wasn't even once every couple years in most cases, so please stop trying to say that its the only thing making bases worthwhile.

As for bases being "useless" and only there for the SG Leader to play with, I dunno how to tell you this, but if you're not happy with what your leaders are spending Prestige on, you should communicate that to them. Every SG I've done base work for has had an open door policy for suggestions on what needed to be added. Once a consensus was reached, the editing and expansion began. Talk to your leaders and tell them you need x and y in your base to make the game better for you. Talk to your fellow SG members and see if they want whatever available feature you're looking for.

If that doesn't work, then perhaps you should be looking for a new SG instead of just complaining that bases are useless. If you're not willing to do that, then you have to just have patience and wait for the PvP raids to start again or for them to figure out how to do PvE raids.
  18. [ QUOTE ]

However, supergroup bases are nigh useless. You get teleporters and storage. Crafting tables and enhancement tables. But what is the point? So a group of leaders can decorate the base like The Sims?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'll give you some comic book examples of what bases are and why we have them.

    Avengers Mansion
    Baxter Building
    Justice League Satellite
    X-Mansion
    Titans Tower
    Batcave

    The forest room.

Looks great! I did something similar in one of my personal bases to make it seem like you were walking from one building to another out in the forest, to give a sense of isolation. Looks you definitely did things on a much bigger scale than I did though!

Alright so basically this could be done by having an "Item Creator" similar to what we have available with the tailor screens, including save and load buttons. If the items can be saved/loaded that way, they would be easily shared like any costumes or critters. Perhaps they would need to then be "published" like arcs for AE content are.

My only question for the implementation is what impact would this have on the item count limit that causes base problems some have experienced. If the items are still separate pieces that are just placed in the proper configuration then this could actually make the problem more widespread as more people find it easier and easier to find themselves at a higher item count. If the items created in this manner are placed as a new, static unit, then it could conceivably lessen those issues, or at least I'd think.

Or would this be too ambitious an idea to implement?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would imagine the system would probably still need to count the items seperately. I also imagine that something is being done with regard to the item limit... However, this doesn't change how truly ambitious of a suggestion this is, or how relatively few people would actually use this feature. AKA, it would be awesome (any one part of it even) but it has a snowball's chance of coming to fruition.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I always view this sort of discussion as being akin to a negotiation. You shoot for the sun, the moon, and the stars, all in the hopes of motivating enough progress to get to the corner store. The idea above would be very ambitious, as you say, and has little chance of implementation in that format, but if it gives them an idea for something far less ambitious that can be done while moving even a step in that direction, its a worthwhile discussion.

Snowglobe, and especially Demon-Hunter, you both would be glad to teach him how to build bases, yet you are so arrogant as to be isnulted that he wants to help you enjoy the market instead of hating it. To take your frustration and turn it into enjoyment.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmmm. So I guess it would be okay for someone to go into the Market forum asking about the markets only to turn it around into a discussion about how it violates some unspoken RP rule or saying that Marketeers need to see it their way because they're having a hard time getting purples for your "uber l33t build." Put simply, why would you do that? It's out of place.

The way I see it, and its purely my personal view of course, is that if someone wants Base help, you go to the Base board. If you want Market help, you go to the Market board. I wouldn't go to the Market forum and expect anyone to want to listen to how what the way they do something is wrong because of something base-related. Anytime someone goes into the Market forums with an opposing view they're usually laughed out of the room, so to speak.

By entering the Market forums though, its understood that this is the topic of conversation that the majority of people want to hear about. Entering the Base forum with one line of questions and then essentially asking "What do I have to do to convince you to use the Markets?" just seemed condescending to me.

Fulmens stated that wasn't what he intended and I took him at his word on that. Far as I was concerned the issue was over at that point.

If you'd bother reading farther down before calling me out, you would have seen that unlike Snow Globe, I'm not against using the Market. I do use it. So I'm not sure what your deal in calling me out by name is other than to be the creature living under the bridge...

    GM Soloing

I consistently solo Paladin and Babbage with my fire/kin troller. Those two were very easy as they lack any kind of stuns and anything above that has been a stalemate for her so far. Haven't hit 50 or put much into her slotting though.

We have plenty of prestige and should have plenty of control and power althoughI don't know how to check.

    [/ QUOTE ]

When you are in edit mode, there are two bars at the top right of the item selection menu. A green bar and a red bar - these tell you how much energy and control you are producing and how much you are using.

    [/ QUOTE ]

He would still be able to place it though, even without enough energy and control though, no?
