Do the togas and such come with the pack as well as the armor?

The biggest question that crosses my mind is: Does she get a superhero name?
Which leads into my other thought since the most recent SSA: Darrin Wade better get himself a super suit and proper villain name, assuming our players don't jump in there too quickly. He's had 10 years to plan all this, you'd think he'd have a name and costume picked out already. -
Quote:Epic dev joke incoming? In another interview today, Positron also had this little bit of info:Quote:
"We have another surprise left to tell in the first Signature Story Arc, as well as putting a previously minor character (who is much beloved) into the spotlight as a full-fledged hero in their own right".
Fusionette to the rescue! -
Quote:In play? I'd suggest setting the difficulty and the number of heroes you're equal to what you can handle easily for everyday problems and only upping it to what you find a moderate to difficult challenge when it comes to "Save the world" type events.I am giving that as an example of events in-game that the top-tier heroes would possibly be involved it. I am merely asking how we might become-- if we choose to-- a hero at the level of Statesman and have it reflected in the game.
Here's why: It shouldn't still be an uphill climb when you're at the top of the heap.
If your hero is supposed to be considered a substantial hero, then either through planning or sheer overpowering ability or some combination thereof or simply writer fiat, your character is more than capable of handling a typical situation with ease. So, set the difficulty accordingly.
Particularly, when you hit the "high-end" portion, everything in the radio/newspaper system isn't really worthy of "Oh no, the world is going to end" sorts of peril, so run easy mode for a bit. Don't forget to stop to smell the roses and get the drop on the occasional gray con, because Superman doesn't just let a mugger manhandle an innocent just because they con gray.
Plus, when you hit 50 and get fully incarnated up or purpled out or full up on inf or whatever you consider topped out, you're not really getting anything out of the game than the fun of playing your character.
If you think challenge is fun, then set it to whatever is challenging to you. But, to my mind, paddling upstream all the time doesn't represent what we're supposedly capable of.
Also, avoid those that throw rocks at you. -
Quote:Also, check out the simple black lines on Sensor Girl's costume. We could use a couple more simple line patterns.2- http://images.wikia.com/marvel_dc/im...s_Vol_3_24.jpg -- Looking in particular at patterns and cape mantles useful for all model types.

Quote:See, the problem for me is, that white tights with skin bleeds "flesh" tones through it. But, that's a different issue. The big thing that bothers me about all the old-style tights is that they really don't look or feel like tights. Part of this is just the flat texture and color masking, but it feels like paint, not clothing. White tights and white skin look exactly the same, and that's a problem.
Defense is a nice look, but it could stand to be a bit less specific to the two patterns that it's designed around: Stripe 4 for torsos(which is currently not available for Female or Huge) and Stripe 3 for legs. Not that costumes designed around specific patterns is a bad thing, as it's used to great effect with Stealth, Defense, as well as the Alpha top.
But something a skosh more generic/less specific detail-wise would help all around, which I'm assuming, the Olympian Guard uniform appears to be. Detailed, but no underpinnings of a specific pattern. -
Heck, at this point, I'd be happy with Circle of Thorns skirt minus the side skirts. Or a stiff front piece like the CoT skirt with a butt cape.

Quote:Of course, if you actually paid attention to the "epic wailing" last time, the big issue that I saw was that the male costume could easily work for female characters too.I'm looking forward to the epic wailing over the fact that the new Chinese set has the female model showing part of her midriff, which will commence as soon as it hits beta. Objectification! Do pardon the pun. Or not, your freedom of choice.
Which, if you were paying attention to the Ustream or any of the real discussion on the topic of the Imperial Dynasty set, is that there's a female version of the armor portion of the set too. -

Quote:The thing about the Defense set is that it's built around a pair of patterns. Upper torso Stripe 4(which I believe is still only available for male characters for some odd reason) and I want to say Stripe 3 on the legs. There's built-in lines that are a smidge too detailed. Something a bit less defined would work better.Very useful to know. I figured that the Defense set would've covered it as well, yet there were still requests for more super-hero stuff after that shipped. Wanted to figure out exactly what you guys were after.
As for my vote, C with a smattering of A is what I'm most interested in. Specifically, domino masks with tintable opaque lenses that cover just the eyes. Because at that point, I can more or less live with the painted on whole masks, if I can drop in a domino mask to cover the eyes. Also, more simple patterns to overlay on existing torso/legs etc.
Problem then is, that we'd likely be stuck with the mask in Standard Detail 1(full mask detail 2). I think in one of the costume threads, somebody proposed proliferating detail 1 and 2 (as well as the sometimes available detail 3) across the board, to broaden the combinations that we have available.
There's a number of detail 1 and 2 options that cover the standard ear completely that could be moved over to the Ear category. -
Quote:I have to say that this is an interesting way to answer a question.
Lyle Austin: When are we going to be getting Archer (Robin Hood style) caps? We've had the Archery power sets for years now, but still can't wear a Robin Hood Hat.
City of Heroes: Hmm, interesting idea for a hat! -

Quote:But, "The Conspiracy!" must have done it!That seems to me to be attributing a SPECTRE level of underhandedness and information control to Marketing, which has never impressed me with their cleverness. It's also rather pointless; they don't need to fake "accidents" to release videos or screenshots. If they wanted to release a screenshot about Beast Mastery to tantalize us, then they could just haul off and do so without pointless fake accidents. They have just gone ahead and released screenshots and promo videos in the past.
Never attribute to human error, when you can get a leg up on "The Man" by uncovering their secret ploys.
edited to add: I'm with you though, accidents happen. -
Quote:Eventually, surprisingly earlier than expected and omgdidyouseewhat'sontest*?OK, now we have at least 3 timeframes I'm aware of: Soon, Very Soon and Imminently.
I demand an EXACT definition of the conversion ratio relationship between these three nondescript random time periods.
*nothing new on test right now. -
Quote:First: i no, rite? also, still waiting on that power customization option.First: omgcrotchgun.
Second: As a heads up, while Imperial Dynasty is certainly inspired by the Chinese New Year, it will not be available by January 23rd, which is the start of the Chinese New Year (the earliest possible date it could be held actually). As much as we wanted to celebrate the arrival of the year of the Dragon with the costume set, our production schedule didn't quite line up with it.
That being said, you should be able to check it out on Beta Very Soon.

Second: Aw, figured as much, seeing that you guys only showed the Pocket D pack. Still, very soon? Cool. -
I just figured out that my big issue with the fire set is, it is the same as the problem I have with Organic armor:
The leg detail/secondary pattern is so big and gaudy compared to the chest portions.
Whereas, Ice gets a pattern that's as simple as the rest of the suit, barring the crystals and waterfall etc. -
Don't forget "how much they need to add to power customization so that my crotch laser was firing from the appropriate appendage"
-
-
Wait, isn't Chinese New Year soon?
-
Has anyone tried to see if the 5th contact for SSA is active?

Have you seen the forthcoming Tier 9 Fire and Ice set?
