In play? I'd suggest setting the difficulty and the number of heroes you're equal to what you can handle easily for everyday problems and only upping it to what you find a moderate to difficult challenge when it comes to "Save the world" type events.

Here's why: It shouldn't still be an uphill climb when you're at the top of the heap.

If your hero is supposed to be considered a substantial hero, then either through planning or sheer overpowering ability or some combination thereof or simply writer fiat, your character is more than capable of handling a typical situation with ease. So, set the difficulty accordingly.

Particularly, when you hit the "high-end" portion, everything in the radio/newspaper system isn't really worthy of "Oh no, the world is going to end" sorts of peril, so run easy mode for a bit. Don't forget to stop to smell the roses and get the drop on the occasional gray con, because Superman doesn't just let a mugger manhandle an innocent just because they con gray.

Plus, when you hit 50 and get fully incarnated up or purpled out or full up on inf or whatever you consider topped out, you're not really getting anything out of the game than the fun of playing your character.

If you think challenge is fun, then set it to whatever is challenging to you. But, to my mind, paddling upstream all the time doesn't represent what we're supposedly capable of.

Also, avoid those that throw rocks at you.

Also, check out the simple black lines on Sensor Girl's costume. We could use a couple more simple line patterns.

See, the problem for me is, that white tights with skin bleeds "flesh" tones through it. But, that's a different issue.

Defense is a nice look, but it could stand to be a bit less specific to the two patterns that it's designed around: Stripe 4 for torsos(which is currently not available for Female or Huge) and Stripe 3 for legs. Not that costumes designed around specific patterns is a bad thing, as it's used to great effect with Stealth, Defense, as well as the Alpha top.

But something a skosh more generic/less specific detail-wise would help all around, which I'm assuming, the Olympian Guard uniform appears to be. Detailed, but no underpinnings of a specific pattern.

Heck, at this point, I'd be happy with Circle of Thorns skirt minus the side skirts. Or a stiff front piece like the CoT skirt with a butt cape.

Of course, if you actually paid attention to the "epic wailing" last time, the big issue that I saw was that the male costume could easily work for female characters too.

Which, if you were paying attention to the Ustream or any of the real discussion on the topic of the Imperial Dynasty set, is that there's a female version of the armor portion of the set too.

But... Internets?

The thing about the Defense set is that it's built around a pair of patterns. Upper torso Stripe 4(which I believe is still only available for male characters for some odd reason) and I want to say Stripe 3 on the legs. There's built-in lines that are a smidge too detailed. Something a bit less defined would work better.

As for my vote, C with a smattering of A is what I'm most interested in. Specifically, domino masks with tintable opaque lenses that cover just the eyes. Because at that point, I can more or less live with the painted on whole masks, if I can drop in a domino mask to cover the eyes. Also, more simple patterns to overlay on existing torso/legs etc.

Problem then is, that we'd likely be stuck with the mask in Standard Detail 1(full mask detail 2). I think in one of the costume threads, somebody proposed proliferating detail 1 and 2 (as well as the sometimes available detail 3) across the board, to broaden the combinations that we have available.

There's a number of detail 1 and 2 options that cover the standard ear completely that could be moved over to the Ear category.

I have to say that this is an interesting way to answer a question.

Flesh wound? C'mon, Synapse is the game's Speedster character. There's no way some measly missile is going to hit him.

But, "The Conspiracy!" must have done it!

Never attribute to human error, when you can get a leg up on "The Man" by uncovering their secret ploys.

I have a couple martial artists that can use it. I didn't even know that I wanted it until I saw the set.

Again, that's just my guess.

Mostly because, what would be the point of double the melee attacks? Two Tier 9s?
