    So what weapon is it?
The character creator screen is being shown off, so I bet the idea was to show how many options are possible. Which is probably why they went with that shot for the video as opposed to a normal screen sans weapon options. Is that really so hard?

Conversely, they could be playing an AR/Mind blaster, or some random hybrid that only the devs can play. Have you ever seen a Dev in-game? Some of their info boxes are very very long.

What gets me, is that the Mutant SOs actually have a descriptor following the unique names. Why didn't they do this to all the rest of the origin SOs?

I've considered just limiting myself to Mutant origins just so that when I hit SOs I don't have to bother with right clicking.

Look carefully at all the glove options that are allowable with Trenchcoats.

    It's the ridged bits.

Hey look, no scales or giant cat eyes on the concept art. What's up with that?

Or rather, why were they added? The concept/production looks so nice, cleaner design too.

(When with the Titans).

Street-level should just be reserved to heroes who are just beginning their careers, as most of them do move past that.
Okay, for another example: I have a fire/fire scrapper who I want to always be able to fight Tsoo. So, how do I get this? Turning off XP. Due to concept, he's perpetually stuck at 28, because that's the last level that Tsoo turn up in radio missions, except for bank robberies from the radio, and after that, there's only Tsoo in Talos Safeguards after which, they disappear. So, I can still team up with high levels, and be SSK'ed up, and keep at the "street level".

I do however agree with Johnny Butane on the whole Mynx and the Vindicators are a little over powered. But, I also can see that this game is an MMO.

Thankfully, there's always the opportunity to present most of the Vindicators as they truly should be with the MA, just copy the costume and put them at whatever level/difficulty that you want. Granted, they won't all look exactly right as some of them have unique items/parts. But, at least, you can "fix" them so that they're consistent with the power level that they really should be.

And blah blah blah, the MA is as real as I say it is.
  10. Did you know that Wonderella has mouseover text too?

While it's weird that he has loyal minions, every group does, and that's villain cliche. What makes him better than Recluse, other than actually demonstrating mental power rather than being a brute cast as a mastermind, is that players aren't assumed to be among those minions, and neither are high level AVs, or tons of text in newspapers and such.
I don't know about Recluse's minions being completely disloyal. They do seem to fall in the Destro, or a little under Starscream, type, where they'll do what he says, and every so often try to usurp his position.

As for Nemesis? Which one? I mean, there's who knows how many Fakes running around and then there's the issue of Mender Silos. That seems a little too on the nose, right? Almost seems a Kang/Immortus situation there.
  12. Anyone here check out the seers headsets? Sure, they come with the mask/goggle bit, but the part around the ears is pretty sweet looking
  13. Is Mother Mayhem wearing a trenchcoat? Or is that some sort of cape?
  14. Outcasts need some more loving.

You have this multi-hued band of mutant misfits with actual super powers faction and they all dry up at 20. Look, I love fighting ninjas, paramilitary guys and wizards/cultists as much as the next guy, but what about actual super powered baddies. I mean, it's a super hero/comic book MMO for Pete's sake.

It's bad enough that the only super powered villains appear in the arcs and post 45 and the safeguards/mayhems. I need to see some Outcasts for the 20-50 game, expand their powersets to include the gamut of controllers and whatever else you can cobble together with the MA, though maybe make all the big name bosses do two different types of powers, a la Frostfire. Heck, you could even re-visualize them for the post 20 game, seeing as they have superpowers, why not give them some spandex too?

Toss them into the mix of infinite radios and newspapers and give them a new arc around 25-30 to showcase the new Outcasts.

I know, it'd be a lot of work to do this, but come on, give me a bit more costumed variety of criminals.

Either that, or bulk out the unique supervillain/heroes from Safeguard and Mayhem bosses' numbers, definitely more than the paltry 4 per 10 level band, maybe something like 6-8 per band, and proliferate them to colluding with other gangs and have them turn up in radios and paper missions. Heck, if you wanted to get really ambitious, tweak them out so that there's say 2 or 3 different costumed supervillain types that only work with set groups per level band. So, you'd have 2 or 3 brand spanking new supervillains that work specifically with Council or Circle of Thorns or Freakshow etc.

Barring the TWO tier 9 popping Elec armor jerks and the TWO AR/traps guys in the 25-39 range, they're all a nice bit of color/something different. Seriously, 30-50 is the longest stretch of the game, it'd be nice if there was a little more variety of supervillains in the safeguards and mayhems to fill the superhero/villain quotient of the game, without it having to be some life-threatening/world ending/city endangering going on. At the very least, drop one of each of the elec/elec brutes and ar/traps corruptors in the 25-39 range and give us something else. I know there's a psychic something or other and ninja/ninja not quite stalker in that range too, but thanks to the fact that there's two of both Elec/elec brutes and AR/traps running around in that band it kind of throws off the odds.

I need some more spandex clad superhero fun in the main portion of the game grind.

In a counter-intuitive, roundabout way, a completely impersonal, anti-social means for building teams where people join the same way they ride on the bus would actually shift the nature of the setting and convince me to team more. I wouldn't give a crap about my team-mates, of course, just the same way I don't give a crap about my team-mates in, say, Battlefield 2142. If they die, tough. If I can resuscitate them, then I will. More points for me. If I can't, too bad so sad.

It'd get me to team more, but I fear what it will do to team spirit in general and team performance in particular. If online FPS games are any indication, most people are idiots who are useless to the team.
I am also an avid soloer But, if I'm in one of my rare moods where I want to team with strangers, I'll find an active zone in my level range and then just start inviting anyone that says they're looking for a team. No concern for powersets/AT/level. Just taking whoever in broadcast that's lft.

To me, that sounds a lot like what you're looking for, only automated by the game itself.

I run all the way out into the lobby of Pocket D. Granted, it's less of a run for villains vs. heroes, but at least it's not all reddish or bluish tinted.

Of course alternately the story might be as simple as the male and female models are designed to be non-threatening or empathetic to the average good citizen, with the huge models for heavy lifting / fighting roles. From what's been seen it doesn't look as though those are the roles they take though.
    It could be both?

And more or less done. I think I started around 7-ish. I have way too many characters.

If I had known about this issue ahead of time, I would have parked all my characters in an icon/facemaker beforehand. Seriously, zone over to wherever, hope that I have the powers saved, reset costume slot. On the handful where the character's concept involved their powerset ramping up, or costume-based theme, it was more of a hassle, as I had to figure out the color combo that I had previously for each costume slot.
  19. Where are all the petless masterminds?

I started one before Dual pistols, which I still have to re-roll. I know at some point I want to do a no tier 1 demon summoner and Thugs MM, but that's for later.

I've more or less soloed my /dev Blapper. That's right, I said Devices blapping, because it's the only way to do gadget Batman in-game. He's only teamed once or twice with online friends. He has Assault rifle for his primary, which I'm tempted pick up ignite and maybe the grenade for. But, otherwise, I want to see what he can do with fighting pools and either leadership or presence for the fears and possibly stealth, but I might hold off for Going Rogue's collector's edition power to fill out the stealthy aspect. Also, uses the vet powers to fill out other attacks. Currently lvl 21, so close to SOs I'm looking forward to seeing how much he improves when SOs come into play.

I'd love to see something a bit more pulp sci-fi. Rocket belts/packs, bubble helmets, odd antennas and some sort of one-off ray gun power. Maybe a stun ray or something like it. Which, I think sort of matches up with somebody else's Alien booster upthread.

I'd also like some more Armored options, be they medieval or tech-based. But, I'd rather they put more of that in the regular options, than booster ones.

I don't want all of my characters teleporting, flying, leaping or superspeeding with rocket skates (I really want to get rid of those rocket skates, too). Some of them are more down-to-earth, and have to get by on the normal gifts they've got. It would be nice if they didn't have to rely on the Raptor Pack to get around.
I'd love a vehicle in-game, I'd even accept if you couldn't attack from them, or use them in instanced maps.
