He's either referring to the boss spawn size or the level ranges. At the difficulty he was at, the 'Small' boss spawn setting should spawn the Boss and two minions. If he's talking about the level ranges, those are adjustable on Page 1 of any given mission.

And...there's no "down time" in that arc. I don't even know what that means.
Translated from Venture Sarcasm Tongue, it means 'I died a lot.'

There's no character even remotely resembling that in the arc. If you're going to review something, don't lie about it.
You should really pay closer attention to things if you're going to accuse someone of outright lying, because it reflects poorly on you. 'Character Used' means that it's his own character.

The timed mission also does have different dialogue dependent upon success or failure. I didn't realize there was a rule that a timed mission had to be the final mission.
He meant that you didn't explain in the mission briefing that the mission was timed.

because everyone needs to kill more Drakules, even if there aren't that many Drakules left.

Well, I meant the lists in the original post for this thread.
  6. Are folks posting their submissions in this thread that aren't in the original lists?

  7. This was actually what I submitted to Aeon Challenge II, I just never bothered to post it on the board. I figured that now is as good a time as any, since the challenge is over, folks are still discussing things, and it's idling at 5 plays.

It's a villain arc, so I asked folks who played it whether or not they felt evil afterward. Opinions ranged from 'somewhat' to 'yes.' I was kinda disappointed.

Feel free to discuss or give opinions afterward.

However, there's a problem with the Circle of Thorns groups that goes throughout the whole arc. For some reason the author decided to make a few custom groups of CoT instead of just using the standard ones. The problem with this, are the Earth Thorn Casters. Now, I *may* be wrong, but my understanding is that all of the thorn casters are split up into multiple instances, some with control powers, and some without, and the ones with the control powers can only show up once in a group. When you make a custom group, this limitation no longer exists, so you can run into groups where you're getting hit with a few quicksands, which have a pretty hefty hit to defense as well as the slows. (For future reference to anyone reading this, that happens with Malta Sappers as well. Please, do not put Malta Sappers into custom groups.)
Newp, I was fighting CoT redside yesterday, against multiple Earth Thorns. I think Sappers are a special case because they were just so annoying.

Looking at the custom group editor to try and figure out how such a thing could happen (elite bosses should never spawn as an enemy in a regular spawn unless they're the only rank in a group) I saw that the Blade Prince was listed as a boss. The logical conclusion is that the author didn't realize that Blade Princes were in fact ridiculous EBs and just wanted a demon boss of proper level other than Succubi, and then this horrible bug happened. Just goes to show that proper testing is really important. Even without the Blade Princes though, this custom group is just asking for frustration. It might be worth it just to bump up the level range to a 40-45 arc and use Infernal Demons with edited descriptions instead.
I don't think he'd need to do that, since high level critters will con down to the arc these days. Infernal Demons pretty much have the same power as Behemoths do at other levels.

At least, until Going Rogue. Who knows what'll happen then.
  9. Played this tonight, or, early this morning, as it were. Only have a few issues:

    - Medium ambushes during boss fights usually don't make the fight more exciting.
    - Allies won't follow. :/
    - Not really a technical gripe, but I'm not sure why the main bad guy bothers to scratch his name in a place you can see it, possibly giving a hint as to his origin, or why he'd even care if anyone knew what his name was anyway since he's going to end them all. I'll take it that he's just more moonbatty than others of his kind as revealed in the arc.

Other than that, I 5-starred it. I grade easy.
  10. I wonder how people would feel if Venture had 3-starred the arc, but called it awesome. I'm interested in what's more important here.
  11. Second from the left in the Justice group shot.

I'd like to thank Avatea for leading a great team for the Guest Author arcs. The team was hardy because it had mostly Blasters!

Some folks like to stack up bonuses to try and fill in deficiencies they feel that their character possesses due to the AT or power sets (but I'd only recommend this method if you're concerned about the latter.) Other folks like to stack up bonuses that will further improve the strengths of their character.

For instance, my blaster isn't going to be tanking stuff any time soon, so I'm gradually making a build focused towards a high total damage and recharge bonus. However, regeneration and recovery bonuses are so common among the sets that those are going to end up being significantly improved as well.

The Killbot 5000 with shiny new IO Set Bonuses.

Then the question has to be asked after all this, do I notice a difference now that I'm playing with power? Short answer: Nope.

So, you can have toons at level 50, they can have no IO's or set bonuses and you'll still have fun and be able to handle most challenges the game throws at you. The only appreciable difference with what I have is having Devastation: Chance to Hold in Mu Mastery, that kinda adds something tangible. A visible power, with a noticeable effect, now that's something I can buy into, a 0.1234234% increase to X just doesn't do it for me otherwise.
One one hand...well, here's the thing: you said you did a 'little' IO set slotting. Without laying out a build that's made with sets that will stack the same kinds of set bonuses, as well as enough set bonuses, you're not going to get a lot. It's the difference between getting TO-sized bonuses and DO- or even SO- or more-sized bonuses overall. I see people say that they don't notice much of a difference when they slot their low-level characters with TOs, but their character greatly improves once they start slotting higher-tier enhancements. Outside the terms of mocking the guy who said you weren't really a Brute, I don't really think it's fair to try and be sarcastic when you say you're 'playing with power' now.

If you do a little IO slotting, you can do so in order to improve multiple aspects of a power more efficiently than you could with SOs or standard IOs, or to get some of the larger bonuses offered by the few enhancements that offer bonuses such as +Regeneration, +Recovery, or KB Protection, or just to take advantage of some of the procedural bonuses like Chance for * Damage or Chance for Heal, etc.

On the other hand, your team leader was a dope for automatically assuming you couldn't smash stuff. As many people and even the developers have said, the game isn't balanced around the strongest of IO builds, or even the weakest, but around a LVL 50 SO build or perhaps somewhere a little lower. It's hard to fake competence in this game, even with big numbers.

It's no biggie, and there are tons more enemies where that one came from.
In addition, if the guy who knocks out the enemy also happens to be on your team, don't worry about it.

I couldn't tell from your original statement above whether or not the people you were talking about were teamed with you. :3

Everything was going well, until about six months after she came to the town, when a space station fell from the sky and crashed not far from her little shop.

After the dust had cleared and the earth-shattering noise had subsided, Fanny swore she heard the sound of laughing - and sure enough, when she looked toward the wreckage, a young man was standing amidst it all, clearly amused by what he had just done. She turned to one of her regular customers (who seemed strangely calm, as if this happened often) and asked, "Who is that young man, and why did he just do that?"

The woman she had asked smiled up at her and said, "That is Kadmon, the God of Madness, the Prince of Lues... and he is the reason why we can't have nice things."

"Well," Fanny said, "he very nearly destroyed my shop, and this, I will not stand for. He shall have a stern talking-to." And so she marched off to address the young man, and she never could have foreseen what this meeting would lead to.

They hit it off almost immediately, and over the next few years, their friendship saw them through many ups and downs. Kadmon was there for Fanny as her life hit a several-year rough patch, and he was there when she thought it couldn't get any worse and was proved wrong, always offering a joke and a smile. At first she didn't really realize how important he had been, standing in the background, always willing to listen whenever she needed to speak.

But the time came when life had really turned sour for young Fanny, and she found herself without a home. Kadmon promised he would see what he could do, and, (with a little help from Smoke and Ele), he found her a beautiful home with a mountain view. She loved it, and shortly after moving in, she realized that she loved him. She couldn't shelve those feelings no matter how hard she tried, for there was nothing to take their place.

Several months passed and she kept this silent for fear of being rejected, until Valentine's Day, when the atmosphere of love and giddiness depressed her and she told him everything that she had felt. He said he needed time to think and six days later, she got the answer she had been hoping for.

And so they spent ten beautiful months together, until the last day of that horrible decade, when Kadmon announced that he wanted to marry her, and she accepted. The next decade would begin with a promise, and everyone would forever remember that night as the night it rained space stations and cookies from the heavens.
Sounds like a good start. Arc ID#?

The thing is, with interactive environments, the more interactive you make them, the more memory they start to eat up. There used to be issues with just a bunch of leaves falling off trees and stuff, I think. What exactly do you want in terms of 'interactive', by the way?

Castle et al. have said that they'd love to do more stuff like Oil Slick, but the problem is that they still haven't quite figured out the 'failure to light' bug yet. I believe Castle stated that if they ever did figure it out, they'd start trying to put more stuff like Oil Slick in the game.

One of the more popular theories seems to be that the team size setting creates 'phantom' teammates and the recipes go into the void. Thus, the drops are generated (and logged for the devs datamining) but no one actually gets them.
Even if these phantom teammates did exist, the chance to get a drop doesn't change depending on your team size, does it?

Personally, I would be wary of self-affirming theories.
