  2. If you have the Arcane Teleport Beacon for Galaxy City, it is still pointing to Galaxy City. If you have the Tech Teleport Beacon for Galaxy City, it is pointing to the Echo.

    Arcane is bugged.

    1 & 3 are known.
    2. They should be able to join a VG after becoming a villain while still in the zone.
    4 & 5 haven't heard of this happening. Be sure to file a /bug report in game.

    These should really be posted in the forum section right above this one. The one named City of Heroes Freedom and Issue 21: Convergence Bug Report Forums.

    This was long before villain and hero stances were added to the game.

    Well, they are supposed to. Apparently the Tech Teleport Beacons are working correctly but the Arcane Teleport Beacons are still pointing to the actual Galaxy City instead of the Echo.

    No idea when a fix will be in place.
  5. First, a question for Tex. Is the Auth entry correct? I remember seeing some people having problems with an incorrect Auth entry and removing it from the registry seemed to have resolved the problems.

    Have you tried disabling the various Alienware Command Center stuff such as the AlienFusionController or AlienFXController or similar. It's possible something in a recent update is conflicting with something there.

    You might also try disabling anything unnecessary for gaming such as the Cisco VPN Agent service.

    And yet people are whining and complaining because the servers are being taken down for hardware upgrades.

    And when those upgrades don't fully fix the problems and they schedule another downtime for hardware upgrades they whine some more.

    My game account and forum account use the same username and password, since that is how it's designed.

    The support account uses a different username (the email address listed on my Master Account) and a different password, although I could change them to use the same one. Have you tried using the Forgot your username or password link on the Support login page?

    This makes little sense to me as it's not what I see on the support page I linked to. https://support.cityofheroes.com

    Once you log into the support account and click the My Stuff tab, you can click on the support ticket.

    The window that opens with the details of the ticket does not have any lines to type between. It has a box labeled Add additional information to your question as well as a dropdown box to select Yes, please respond to my question or No, I don't need this question answered now along with a Submit button.

    It will provide most of what we would need for troubleshooting without having to play 120 questions.
  11. I have a really really really old unplayed (since launch) game account on my Master account page along with my normal game account I've played since launch. It shows as being a Free account. It shows as being Playable. However, when trying to log in with the account it will only allow me to go to the account page to upgrade to VIP. It won't let me in.

    I guess that answers the question someone asked previously.

  13. Opening multiple tickets only slows down getting a resolution. The simple solution is that if the emails are being returned to not use the email reply. Instead, go to the support page and update the ticket from there.

    The support page should be at https://support.cityofheroes.com

    Once there, click the My Stuff tab and log in. You'll be able to see your tickets and update them.

  15. Since the Defense costume set is a new purchasable costume, have you purchased the set? You may also need to purchase AE access to the costume using Tickets.

  17. From what little information you've given, I'd recommend downloading Driver Sweeper and the 11.4 ATI drivers for your video card/OS. There are several issues with drivers later than that and 64-bit versions of Windows.

    As always, the preferred method for changing drivers is as follows:


    1. Install Driver Sweeper but don't run it yet.
    2. Download 11.4 drivers but don't install them yet.
    3. Uninstall current drivers and Catalyst Control Center.
    4. Reboot into Safe Mode, cancel any installation wizards, run Driver Sweeper.
    5. Reboot into normal Windows mode, cancel any installation wizards.
    6. Install the 11.4 drivers downloaded earlier.
    It's possible that you may need to try an earlier driver, but many seem to be having good results with the 11.4 drivers.

    Also, make sure that you have Vista Service Pack 2 installed on your computer (your sparse information doesn't list the SP version).

    If you continue to have problems, you'll need to follow the instructions in the [Guide] Asking for technical help on the forums thread that is stickied here.
  18. Have you tried the steps given by Zwillenhunterdeathmask in his update post on the problems with EU account? I saw your post in the thread saying that your account name isn't over 14 letters, but it would be worth it to try the steps in that post anyway. If it doesn't send him a PM. He may be a little slow to reply due to all of the PM's he receives, but he reads all of his PM's and is good at trying to get things resolved.

  21. That was the same frustration I felt when I followed the hero invasion from Talos to Founders' Falls to Eden and then ... oops ... can't get into the Hive.

    Since this is not an even being done on each server, the only way for some to participate, short of using 2 server transfers and possibly losing the character name, would be to log on to a lower level character.

    If this were being done on every server I'd still have a few problems with it in that not everyone has a character that is 45+ so you'd still be leaving out parts of the playerbase.

    Having it go to a zone that is still level-locked, while it does make for a logical conclusion, and a zone that has a cap of 50 characters seems ... poorly thought out.

    I was having a wonderful time all through the chases and fights even when I died and had to slowly get back to the fight. When it was announced that it was going into The Hive and I tried to get in and failed (I was hoping they might have temporarily removed the level restriction for the event) it left me very frustrated, so much so that I just logged off entirely.

  25. Please follow the instructions in the first three posts in the [Guide] Asking for technical help on the forums sticky thread. Just through Step 15 is good enough.

    Since you are running Windows 7, make sure that when you start CoH Helper that you right-click it and select Run as Administrator.
