Game just randomly freezes...

I'll be playing for a total of about 10 minutes before the game just... stops doing anything. I always have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete my way out of the game and it's beginning to piss me off quite a bit. I reduced all my graphics settings to the bare minimums and... still freezes.

I am running windows 7 64 bit.
AMD Phenom II x3 720 (2.8 Ghz)
4 GB Ram
Ati Radeon 3850 HD

Please... let me know what I can do to play the game without having to play for 10 minutes, and restart. Just enough time to finally find a team... and get booted.

Since you are running Windows 7, make sure that when you start CoH Helper that you right-click it and select Run as Administrator.

I posted this in the 11.8 driver thread, got the same freezes with a other computer setup.

Try the old 11.4 drivers. After a few hours of gameplay, no client freezing.

sorry to hijack a bit but ive followed directions on how to install old ati drivers and i always fail here is what i do

step 1: uninstall current 11.8 drivers from control panel
step 2: launch driver sweeper and clean out the amd registry
step 3: accept to restart pc
step 4: run the 11-4 vista64_win7_64 exec file
step 5: install through express
step 6: get sad b/c the driver doesnt install only ati control center does. gives me no error says installation complete but when i view log it doesnt it show driver to have installed. dont get a option to restart and screen is stuck at 800x600 resolution. have to system restore just get back to 11.8

please tech gurus help im so sick of the crashing I just want to enjoy more than 1 incarnate trial before having my pc just slow down to 0 fps until it just completely freezes and causes me to ctr alt del.
